Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.0

Yes, I also think finishing the Chaos Dwarves and Skavens first would be great :D
I already have lots of ideas. The skaven could have warpstone based units and improvements, like factories that may experience meltdowns like the fission-nuclear plants.
Now me must put their fate in the hands of the graphic developers :goodjob:
The tech-trees and improvements needed for them could be posted here in detail. Any suggestions so far?

There is a Skaven development thread in creation and custimization. I have a sugestion. In order for the further development of this MOD not to get all messed up, we should all move over to Mr Do's new development thread until ED decides to show up again. It feels at bit blasphemous talking about making edits to the original WH MOD without ED's input here.

Alright. I wasn't fully aware of the other threads. I just hope ED comes back soon

Hi everyone!

I'm playing on in my first game, and I have a few questions for those of you who are experienced with this mod.

I check the link from the HTML file that came with the download. Under installation, it says:

'If you can read this file, the installation is complete, you don't have to do anything, just launch C3C, go to Civ-Content and play! You may choose to play the basic mod with a random map (WH2.biq), one of its variations (WH2-Mod-*.biq), scenarios (Wh2-Scn-*.biq) if you installed those as well.'

I have only Wh2.biq. Can somebody tell me how to get these other mods or maps?

A few other questions -- My game victory conditions look like I have a normal size map. However, I'm pretty sure I have a huge map. Did I do something wrong? Is there something I'm supposed to do? Should I play a turn of the regular game on a map setting before loading Warhammer?

It still rocks!

Is there a view of strongest or weakest powers?

Thanks for any help!

Breunor

OK, I guess you get the map by going into the maps directory! Well, I'm glad I figured that out before anybody said anything! :)

There seem to be a lot of Warhammer maps. Any view on which people use the most often?

On the random map (WH2.biq), is it really random? The countires seem to be placed where they say they are based on the Civilopendia.

Breunor

Thanks MRTN.

Can you help me with the other questions? Do I need to load a certain map size? Does the map size change or is it always a huge map?

Are the countries randomly placed?

Thanks for any help,

Breunor

Playing Warhammer without the civ3 1.22 patch

I'm probably not the first to note this problem, but since I had great trouble playing the mod while not having the 1.22 patch, I think I should point out the solution for other users having the same difficulty.

Attempting to play without the patch causes mislabeling of most aspects of the game, including the year (affecting the auto save), the victory conditions and the screens before the begining of a new game. All problems disappear with a simple modification of the labels.txt file in the texts folder. The 1.22 patch adds 3 new lines in the labels file and this is what changes the order of the labels, so all you have to do is to remove them! You can find these lines by simply comparing the warhammer labels file with your original labels in the conquests directory. And don't forget to backup the files before editing them! This technique works with any scenario to upgrade or degrade them depening on having or not the patch (for exaple I used it succesfully in Master of Mirror as well).

Fortunately you won't have to edit anything for the Warhammer 2.0 mod, since in the text folder are included two additional labels files, and one of them (labels 1.5 I think), is the one that does the work. All you have to do is rename labels.txt to something else and replace it with the extra file.

The only problem I have encounter since that modification is that the income is miscalculated after building the alchemist guilt small wonder, but it's not really much of a trouble.

I'll try to post more specific information if possible.

Why wouldn't you patch to v1.22?

Answering that would be a breach of the forum rules. That in itself should be an answer.

Here are the more specific information:

The labels.txt file you must edit is located in your Civ3/Conquests/Scenarios/WH2/Text folder. If you need to edit other scenarios find the proper folder (instead of the WH2 for the Warhammer 2.0 mod).

And here are the three lines that the 1.22 patch adds, in the order you ‘ll find them. They are noted in italics and the rest are the two labels before and after them.

Middle Eastern Architecture
East-Asian Architecture

…
Allow Cultural Conversions
Reverse Capture the Flag
Allow Scientific Leaders
Default Rules
All Random
…

If you want to degrade a scenario to the unpatched version you only need to delete those lines. On the contrary, if you want to upgrade a scenario or project in process with custom labels, designed to run without the patch (a good reason to avoid installing it) you just have to add the lines.

I hope that some will find those informations useful.

You choose your own size of the map, there's only one meaning to the word random. That includes the starting locations too.

Hi everybody.

I'm a beginner in all these matters, so maybe my problem is easy to solve; but i'd thank you very much your help.

I have downloaded the mod and i've installed it. At first, everything seems to be right, but when i start playing with the dwarves i have the next error: the program doesn't find the file Art/Units/Settler/Settler.INI. If i copy the folder of the Settler, from the Civ3 main folder to the Conquest folder, the problem solves, but then the file that doesn't find is Art/units/DwarfWarrior/.../WarriorRun.amb. Or something like that.

This problem happens with every races of the game, and with both versions of Conquest: 1.0 and 1.22.

I don't know wath to do. Please, anybody could help me to solve this problem? Thank you all!

Try re-installing the mod, it sounds like some of the files and/or folders didn't get copied correctly.

It is also likely that you installed it in the wrong folder. Make sure that you can find WH2 folder and scenario in your Civ3/Conquests/Scenarios directory.

Actually that's not very likely, assuming that you let the exe install the mod where is should be, and don't bugger around with it.

@Doji: Do you have english language conquests?
