An Idiotic Teenager

The presence of balls does not make up for the absence of brains. A lesson I feel some men still need to learn.

Well good thing he didn't get them blown off! While it was an idiotic thing to do, at least he wasn't a coward about doing it.

Though this certainly wasn't a safe thing for a teenager to do alone, is it really more dangerous than driving down a highway at 100 mph while drunk or any other stupid thing that a "normal" teenager might do? At least this was a very educational trip for him, if expensive and dangerous.

Stupidity is not that same as courage. If you think nothing can happen to you when you do something it doesn't take anything to do it.

But only idiot teenagers (which are not all of them, but most) would consider driving down a highway at 100mph while drunk an act that shows courage...

you guys are way too easily impressed, of the thousand of civilian foreigners in iraq, how many % of them get beheaded anyway? 1%?

and not all of them look arabic either, like this kid.
had he spoken the language good, he would be as safe as you can be in iraq, which is probably much safer than most of you think!

Do you know what's the problem with youth these days? They're young!

I was just watching this on CNN and MSNBC. He might have been thinking that since he looks like an Iraqi, he’ll blend in and he won’t have much trouble (and it looks like he did blend in well). It’s just that I don’t think he was considering the real danger he was in, and that’s the dumb part. A lot of people often underestimate reality. But I really think that he would have had a much higher chance of something happening to him if he didn’t look Iraqi. His mindset might have been that, “hey, I’ll blend in – no big deal.”

But I do agree that it’s more of a stupid move than a courageous one. Some people would go through brick walls to get the heck out of there, while he just buys a ticket and hops on a plane. At least he is showing that he’s serious about what he wants his career to be. It’ll look good on a college resume. :goodjob:

I wish I knew any other kind of teenager, though.

That’s just plain generalization. :)

I definately admire his ambition. The guy definately knew what he wanted. Yes, he didn't exactly know how to do it (and figuring it out as he went along was not the smartest strategy), but its still kinda cool. Maybe he'll become a reporter and do this the "right way" in the future. He definately seems like the kind of guy who will apply himself to achieving his goals.

BTW, I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought this kid had way too much money.

if i were to go to another country i would at least try to study their language and culture
