The Idiots' Partee

Welcome to my world, grandma :)

@ gma and everyone else,

here is the only poll that is currently open. It is on what to build in the capital for the next 10 or so turns. Currently the vote is 11 to 5 in favor of our position on the matter. vote how you wish. Arguements can be made for both sides, but ours is better ;)

Summary of current events:

We have met Ghengis Khan to our south. We've popped a scout out of a GH. The capital is about to grow next turn. We are currently producing a warrior.

It has been asserted by me that if you start a warrior and then switch to a worker (no growth during production), you'll get both units out quicker than if you had finished the warrior before starting the worker. Some people are scared to death that the AI will declare upon arrival. The only time that I've seen anyone (AI or human) die in the first 20 turns is a duel sized 4 player map that WHomp & I started using Pitboss. He didn't have time to get his warrior out before Roosevelt burnt his capital to the ground (and no Whomp I won't let you live that down  )

This post has some screen-shots

... Akots any scientific clue what he just said? :D

Absolutely none. You seriously expect me to read THAT post? ;)

On a sidenote, confident DP is good. Just make sure his play reflects the will of the citizens.

I'm full of hate and disgust.
Hate you, hate you, hate you!

To give Whomp some credit, I almost was ran over by Saladin, but his warrior was 4 turns behind the burning of Whomperville. Also Duel maps are REAL tight. 4 civ AW game on them won't last long unless you fortify your initial warrior in capital

I don't think I had a warrior. I had a scout.

Bengeance has posted this in the Culturists thread. I posted my support behind it and said I would post it here. Make up your own mind.
To my surprise the Chatlog posted has been edited. Here is the version I logged. Search for fun to quickly locate the comments specifically mentioned. Times are in GMT.

By edited you mean clipped? Nothing seemed changed. I appreciate the extra chat that wasnt there before.

I haven't checked it word for word, but I meant bits cut out. The chat can make it difficult to find out what happened sometimes, which may well have been why it was done. I tend to post it warts and all when I'm logging (even with my password in on one occasion :crazyeye:) so that there is a full record of what occured.

So, does this mean that Blkbird violated the instructions? I don't get it exactly. And if I may ask again politely, what is the official appointment of CT not counting forum moderator?

I say we, as being citizens (and idiots), make Blkbird "fly away" next election. He is getting on my nerves and to tell you the truth, I don't think some of the things he has said (or implied, or just arguing symantecs) is in the spirit of this Demo*GAME*. Then again, I am just an old fashioned idiot :crazyeye:

Thanks for posting the entire turnlog Furiey. I quoted some of it earlier when it was originally released and that log you posted has a lot more *interesting* details in it.

CT was the designated turnplayer (DP) for the session, so she was trying to interperet the instructions left by the officials in the turnchat instruction thread and use other polls and discussions to fill in the gaps to determine what should be done if there were no or unclear instructions.

I'm not too sure if there are any differences for this Civ 4 DG, but the role of the attendees is as witnesses and advisors, they can be very helpful to find info in the forum to help the DP interperet instructions but they can not order the DP what to do. Blkbird did not violate any instructions as such and was not in a position to actually do so. He was however very vocal in putting forward his position (which you may or may not agree with) making it clear that his position was the one he would take. This attitude can make it very difficult to DP where you often have to follow instructions that go against the way you would play the game and do things that are sometimes even counterproductive. As DP you are just following (or trying to follow) the posted instructions, incorporating those decisions into your playing of the game, whilst logging as much as you can into the chat. I actually find it more difficult than a succession game session.

We shall soon see whether he follows instructions or not, assuming we get enough of a log to tell that is.

Fellow idiots ... sick of being left in the dark? ... and the last to be told about the party? ... or invited only as an after thought? ... or maybe just forgotten cos you are not sitting in the cool table? ... I know I am ... soooo

So i posted this as a friendly warning to those who are currently running the game ... Here for Free Beer :D

FYI: end of the month is coming up which means a new term. Is there anyone who wants any offices? It would be quite funny if we had a person who had no access to [civ4] become president :)
