NES World/Regional Maps Requests Thread

Yes, he needs to get back to working on a certain project for me. :p

He was also supposed to make a map for Azale, btw. ;)

Still waiting, Panda...

How about the Fraser then? Starts in the rockies, flows to Vancouver?

It's about as majour as the Hudson, yet it's not on.

I'm saying this to point out that not every river, even fairly short but majour ones, should be on the world map.

But ones important border-wise should be shown. For instance, Neman.

I need the most recent blank Jason map. Where is it, pls?

Guess who just was given access to a computer with several hundreds pounds worth of mapping software on it for their final year project?
:D

More to come once I work out how to use the damn thing correctly...

*sigh* So much for working on the rivers, Panda. Oh well. I guess there's no sense in hiding it. I was planning something I liked to call Atlas-style:

But I guess it's mostly worthless now. Also, I still maintain any border wider than 1 pixel - including rivers, looks really ugly on this map. Oh well, all hail the Dis map!

Nice stuff Dis.

Indeed but the program itself is a real pig to use. By the way here's an interesting question for the NESing community - how big should a world map be? Theoretically I could use this software to produce a 10k pixel tall image with resolution down to a kilometer - but what would be the point ?

Personally I'd say the current Jason map is a good size.

Also @ Symphony - don't thank me, thank the good and patient coders and geographers who made the data sets :D

Heres a huge blank map sans rivers (for if people want to like do cut outs of continents and the like)

When I scaled it up from what I originally found it from it came out roughly equivilent to the Jason map so I just left it at that. It's less than 100 pixels off in either direction as it was originally.

I prefer smaller maps. That way I won't have to scroll down/sideways in order to see the entire map. It can be annoying, especially on the school comps that don't have mouse w/ side-scroll. :(

Gee.. I never used side scroll in my life before.. Must be a new modern thing (my PC is 2 years old)

I seriously doubt side-scrolling mouses are newer than two years...

Blame me for living in a third world country. :p

I know uni here uses some silly mice with buttons which make you go backwards, forwards and sideways on the internet (not scroll, mind you). Mighty irritating those things.

I have those buttons too, but I never use'm. :p
