I've been busy for the past day or so, and will continue to be under a bit of strain as my grades have been weak. I might not be able to work on it, as Azale has told me to hold of for awhile
The next version of world map made should probably include a Hudson River. Just noticed that it's rather absent from the current Jason map, and it is fairly major.
*sigh* So much for working on the rivers, Panda. Oh well. I guess there's no sense in hiding it. I was planning something I liked to call Atlas-style:
But I guess it's mostly worthless now. Also, I still maintain any border wider than 1 pixel - including rivers, looks really ugly on this map. Oh well, all hail the Dis map!
Indeed but the program itself is a real pig to use. By the way here's an interesting question for the NESing community - how big should a world map be? Theoretically I could use this software to produce a 10k pixel tall image with resolution down to a kilometer - but what would be the point ?
Personally I'd say the current Jason map is a good size.
Also @ Symphony - don't thank me, thank the good and patient coders and geographers who made the data sets
Heres a huge blank map sans rivers (for if people want to like do cut outs of continents and the like)
When I scaled it up from what I originally found it from it came out roughly equivilent to the Jason map so I just left it at that. It's less than 100 pixels off in either direction as it was originally.
I prefer smaller maps. That way I won't have to scroll down/sideways in order to see the entire map. It can be annoying, especially on the school comps that don't have mouse w/ side-scroll.
I know uni here uses some silly mice with buttons which make you go backwards, forwards and sideways on the internet (not scroll, mind you). Mighty irritating those things.
