Clinton to go on Fox tomorrow

I already have it Tivoed. Read the transcript and it sounds like quite a show.

The thing is, it's easy for a man who will not have to stand up for re-election to tell people what he wants to tell them rather than what they want to hear.

So hats off for sticking up for himself, but it would be even better if politicians (not only the U.S. variety) would do the straight talking while in office.

Clinton said:
You set this meeting up because you were going to get a lot of criticism from your viewers because Rupert Murdoch is going to get a lot of criticism from your viewers for supporting my work on climate change. And you came here under false pretenses and said that you’d spend half the time talking about…

...But at least I tried. That’s the difference in me and some, including all the right wingers who are attacking me now. They ridiculed me for trying. They had eight months to try and they didn’t….. I tired. So I tried and failed. When I failed I left a comprehensive anti-terror strategy and the best guy in the country, Dick Clarke… So you did FOX’s bidding on this show. You did you nice little conservative hit job on me. But what I want to know..

That's beautiful. The guy tried to ambush him and it blew up in his face.

Sounds to me like Clinton is just there to promote Richard Clark's book. His comments were disingenuous as usual. Republicans can the White House want to make people afraid? please. Terrorist want to make people afraid. Republicans and the White House wants to protect you so you don't have to be afraid.

and the white house reminds us how the terrorists want to make us afraid right before every major election and when bush's numbers sink....

This is what's so dang scary about modern republicans. They don't even recognize the political manueverings and spin of thier own party. The fact that Bush uses fear to promote his agenda is nothing new, many presidents have done it. The fact that he spins and lies isn't new either. But the fact that virtually all of the GOP falls for it everytime is. I mean, it's one thing to just say "it's just politics, thats how the game works." But no, now it's "they arent lying, they never lie, they are perfect and can do no wrong, unlike the Democrats who lie cheat steal and fail."

Remember Nixon? The GOP of the early seventies didn't take his BS. But since then the Republican Party has been taken over, apparently by zhombies.

And hell, if Bush is trying to make me feel safe, he's doing a horsehockey job. I've never been so scared for my country in my entire life.

Back on topic, good to see Clinton stand up for himself. I'm tired of the crap that's been hurled his way for so long. And the way he does it just shows how much bigger a person he is than these puny wingnuts. He's beyond them, that's why they could never beat him, and never will.

Rofl. The man who complains of fear mongering is in fear. Would that also be "fear mongering" I wonder?

"Could never beat him"? Huh? I would say, only being ever the 2nd president in our nations history impeached is indeed beating him. Beating him profusely for being the liar that he is and was. Sorry, if Bill Clinton is your hero, you need to set your sights higher. The man is a weasel.

As a fan of Clinton...

I'd say he was impeached for lying; not for being a liar. We've all lied, we're not all liars. Although I guess its just semantics.

And while he was impeached it didn't seem to stop him from serving out the remainder of his term (as opposed to Nixon).

What reason is there NOT to consider Clinton's impeachement frivolous anyway?

Like how he just raised $7 billion to help other people?

So far you contributed no evidence Mob, as usual.

The weasel comment is my opinion, no evidence needed. However, what evidence do you need? I lived under his terms as Governor of the state of Arkansas. I know his acts and deeds quite well. And in my opinion, the man has never served anyone but himself.

Nixon wasnt impeached.

Lying while under oath is a crime and should never be considered frivilous no matter who does it.

If Clinton is a weasel, then how would you rate Bush then?

Bush has lied fifty more times on loads of more important issues then boning an assistant.

And cripes, was Lewinski ever ugly. Same with that Paula Jones lady. If I had the kind of power that guy had as President of the US, I would pick some really, really hot intern.

But it's telling that the worst his political enemies could do (and can still do, apparently) was to focus on extra-marital affairs. I've a feeling that when all is said and done, Bush Jr. would give an arm and a leg to be remembered as an adulterous president.

and what about bush and his little wood company he lied about during that debate.

or was that lie ok since he's on your side?
