Rise and Rule for Civ3:Conquests

@craigruff:
I'd guess you didn't have twice the cultrue of the runner-up (not a RaR feature, but a generic Civ3 one).

@aweman:
2 points: First, you get some War Happiness if a Civ you have not declared yourself upon DoW you. 2nd, do you have Slave Markets (or the Slave trade Wonder)? SoL doubles the unhappiness caused by them. If your citizens are extremely unhappy, it may be a combination of 3 issues (missing out War Happiness, regaining War Weariness, and the improvements). Click on the unhappy popheads; if they tell you the 'Some improvments in this city are annoying' phrase, I'm pretty sure we've nailed down the problem.

Thanks Doc. It was definitely War Happiness, never heard of that before. I had eliminated my slave markets a few turns before building the Statue of Liberty. Wow, that is a cool feature. I don't recall seeing that in previous games. Is that new to RaR or even Conquest? Nothing mentioned in my game manual either.

I downloaded the file and tried to play the extended version, but in the Read Me file it says that the game is not yet complete. But I was trying to play the extended version. I had over 50000 in culture before 540 turns and but it did not recognize it. Now at turn 520, the message comes that the game will end in 20 turns. Why did the game not recognize my 50000 culture and give me victory. And when will the extended version be available. I am a new member.
Do you have at least twice as much as the nearest person? In order to get a 50k cultural victory, you must have more than twice the culture of the number two civ. Also, it's dependant on the map size you're playing. That may affect it as well. Go to the Victory Status screen (Little V next to the info box) and it will tell you what you need to win. But it doesn't say that you need twice the culture of the number two civ.

It has an autoinstaller. You should just make sure that it has your correct installation path. (I use C:\Program Files\Games\Civ 3\)

Autoinstaller? Err... where? I cannot see it in the files I downloaded.

It downloaded as a RAR (ironic) and when I extracted it, it went to my desktop, and I do not see any autoinstaller...

On the Victory Screen it says 50,000 points for a Cultural win. It says nothing about having to wind by twice as much cultural points. Does anyone know when the extended version is coming out.

Double the culture has been around since Vanilla Civ3. It's not a Rise and Rule thing.

I don't think there will be an extended version coming out.

I have been playing the CivIII complete game for quite some time and never downloaded any MOds or Patches.

I came across the "Double your pleaseure" game in civ-conquests. I played it but a lot of items say "no icon" what does this mean?

Per the games instructions I went to civ3.kornskov.com and downloaded all of the RAR (full), RAR game patch and RAR extras files.

I dumpded them into my civIII/Conquests/Senerio files....I played the game again and nothing happened. Still icons like "gold" and such say "no icon.

On the map I see the word "camel", instead of a pitcher.

I tried to research this here but the threads are way to long to find useful.

First off, please refrain from posting the same problem in more than one place. I've closed the other thread, since your problem belongs here.

The 'No Icons" means there's no icon for the civilopedia. They put that in there instead of leaving it blank. The intention was to finish it for a final release, but a lot of the DyP/RnR team went to work on Civ4. So Civ3 got left by the wayside.

Not sure how to do it myself, but you could mod the pics in yourself. OTOH, it's perfectly playabe the way it is, just the Civilopedia is not accurate. You can always ask in this thread for help/advice while playing the mod.

You might try a fresh install with Complete, Full RnR and the patches. That might work. On the other hand, I don't have complete, so I'm not sure if the installation would be different. Honestly, tho, I don't see why it would be.

This has.....101 (!!!) pages....
Anyway...
When I download this, will it overwrite my Civilization III files and replace them with the mod?

Or you dowload Nikoxs graphics patch and all the work is done for you

The guy requesting the missing graphics I hope he was meaning Rise n Rule not dyP cause thats old and no one plays it anymore since conqeusts. If you dont have conquests your out of luck

Ok make sure you get each graphic listed in order for it to work. Read instructions carefully. THis will fill in all missing icons I garentee, but you have to follow the simple instructions.

I Must clarify: the Nikox patch is only for Rise n Rule( 1.02 or 1.03 ) Its playable for Conquest only (Rise n Rule + Nikox patch)

Why so many say DyP when they mean RnR is beyond me. Ok so for eveyone to know, Think of it like this :
its all about Rise n Rule for the latest version DyP and the Nikox patch for absolute complition in regards to Rise n Rule's missing graphics in the Pedia and Tech tree.

Cool? Ok then no thanks needed :D

No icon substitutes as an actual image file, as a placeholder to an image file that has not been created yet. It is not a bug, it is just that the person forgot to add the image for the certain resource or tech, etc. so that the game will not crash. About the RAR files: Some computers are not compatible with them, and those computers will erase them because they can not decipher their tags. My computer can not identify rar, dll, wrl, map, and a few other . extensions. Might be the same for yours.
Hope this helps you and sorry for the double post,
Swiss_Mercenari
EDIT:When I saved RAR in my scenarios folder and started the game, it did not appear as a scenario. It only appeared as a folder in the Civilization Scenario file. I opened some of the unit folders and found them empty. How do I fix this???

I may be confussed.

Under my main menu in CivII - Complete

If I go to "Conquests", I have like 6 senerios to play.

If I go to "Civ-Contents" I have about 150 different senerios to play. It is under "Civ-Contents", than I click on "Double your Pleasure" senerio.

Are there other senerios in Civ-COntents or COnquests which have all of the "double your pleasure" additions?
