Welcome New Members

Hallo everybody,

here is another fan of this great game I´am propably playing since over 10 years now.
My reason for joining this comunity is mainly because I tried to play some of the scenarios for civ III Conquest. (I personally like this version the most) But after I loaded them down and putted them into the Conquest folder I always received error messages when trying them to play.
Maybe somebody of you could tell me why.

Many thanks in advance

Longtime player from CivI through each version. Played CivIII a long time but never thought it was as playable as Civ II despite some cool features. Think Civ IV, especially with Warlords is major advance.

Since adding Warlords, have gottens wins on Noble with Space for Churchill and Culture for Augustus (was going for Diplomacy, and had to switch strategies to avoid getting outspaced).

Now experimenting with warmonger strategies. Very impressed with potential of Brennus. Switching civs, advantage in founding religion, early UU with an early defense bonus promotion that can help get toward Ws that require high promotion unit, additional free promotion from Duns make them worthwhile, especially in Epic/Marathon games.

As you can see I've been playing PC games for ages, including Civilization from it's first inception I believe it came into existence right after I stopped playing games on my Commodore Amiga which was a fine platform at that time. Now don't get me wrong in my opinion, not every was of the same great quality as my favorites; Civs 1,2,and 4 but all were great games. Just wanted to say Hi.. I'm here for the mod downloads.

Hoi hoi,
new here. I've been playing Civ since Civ1, and am now playing Warlords. Have gotten some cultural, diplomacy, and space wins on Noble. At the moment I'm trying to find out what the patch has changed, if anything. What else.. I come from Northern Europe, live in Western Europe, am almost 30 and female. Besides Civ I play mostly Nethack.

I'm introducing myself, so I am.

I've been playing Civ in its' various formats in dribs and drabs for quite some considerable time now (since Civ II), but it never really sucked me in until Civ IV. I had Civ IV from day one and it's barely been out of my DVD drive since (well, it made way for Warlords recently). I've progressed pretty slowly to a fairly competant Noble player, although I have a tendancy to get frustrated at the smallest thing going wrong after two hours of play, and starting a new game. :crazyeye:

I've been a lurker here since I got Civ IV and have picked up a lot of info, and thought it was about time I made myself known.

Menes? For those who don't know, he was (arguably) the first Pharoah of Egypt. I was quite suprised the name wasn't already taken. :D

I generally love history, especially based around ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Romans, Incans et al, which is what keeps drawing me to this type of game...I also love the Impressions city building games like the Caesar's (although the latest version 4 sucks), and Zeus.

Enough about me, no bugger'll read this anyway!

Hello everybody, i`m new to the forum. my name is sven, i´m living in germany (near cologne) and i´m playing civilization since it´s first version..

Hey Civvers, I'm new here but a fan of the old CIv II, III a little bit less, and then that drat thing called Real Life interrupted my Civ time, but now I have a bit more free time on my hands and have rediscovered the Civs, though I'm behind because 4 is out, with an expansion!!! One question before I grab those guys - is there a gold edition coming out anytime soon?

The records indicate that I have never posted to the forums before! Therefore I have made my first post by saying hello to the community in the New Member Introductions thread and have become an active member today.

Hello

Hi guys

I'm a new player (never played Civilization before). My father bought Civ IV for me. The man in the shop told him that this was one of the few games which had multiple ways to victory (which I like, considering how boring it is to play any computer game and win in the same way over and over again).

Anyway, I fell in love with it and it has substituted my command and conquer CDs ever since. :) I started playing and wondered how I could improve my skills. So a search in google led to this website and so ...... I've been having fun ever since

Hello.I'm new to this forum but it seems like a great to expand your Civ possibilities. If anyone could tell me how to properly download and install a modpack I would be greatly appreciative.Thanx in advance.

Hi all:

I am a newbie of Civ. I have never played Civ1 to Civ3.
I am playing Civ4 Warlord now.
Glad to know you all.

Greetings all. Long time player. I've played all versions of the CIV game and enjoyed them all. Great to have a game that has been refined with depth that many games lack.

However, I do miss SMAC, Master of Orion, Master of Magic, and Colonization. I'd like to see these games to updated.

I guess I should re-introduce myself, since I haven't been at the forums for a long time.

I became hooked on Civilization in college. When I got my first computer back in 1996, of course Civ II was one of the first games I got for it. Then it was on to Civ III, and I recently bought a new computer and, of course, I had to get Civ IV.

I've usually stuck with single-player games and admit to being pretty laid back in my playing style, but I am considering entering the multiplayer world once I get a broadband connection.

Civ is without a doubt the game I have found to be the game that I can keep playing over and over again... and if I do take a break from it for a while, it doesn't take long until I want to play it again.

Anyway, I hope to be around the boards more frequently than I was in the past.

come to think of it, I seem to recall maybe playing or observing a DOS-based version of Civilization way back when.

I did. Have payed all the Civ versions since then. Civ II was a great favourite of mine. I think Civ IV is the best of them all so far but am looking forward to Civ V in afew years. :)

Hello everybody !

I'm happy to join you and share experience on civ IV.
I hope it will help me to progress and have my first victory in Emperor level ...
