BEGIN FULL WAR MOBIZATION AND CONSCRIPTION

The French Election – Operation Realpolitik


Allow the election to proceed. Infiltrate Free France with a whole host of agents. Wire the building where all the Free French officals will be meeting to hear the election results. The partisans and agents already in place should of spent the last few months scoping all this out. On the election night of, being held the first Saturday of October (3rd of October) we strike at 9:30pm destroying the building Free French officals are in by the bomb and assassinating every official or ranking military officer we can find.

Partisan groups are to begin raids on various installations around Free France. 20 minutes after the bomb blast the Communist French Army along with A Soviet force of 200,000 infantry, 230 Light Tanks, and 1 ICS worth of Gribraldis and 2 ICs worth of fighters and 100 Lees are to cross the ceasefire line and decimate the beheaded and disorganized Free French rebel army. At the same time as most of the Free French electoral candidates would have been at the election building or assainated, the Communist Party of France is to declare a majority of the People’s Congress of France and declare the entirety of France to be the People’s Republic of France. Use mass gas attacks against the unprotected Free French soldiers and exploit their weakness. Do not gas civilian populations. Advance using armor speed to speed up the process of war. Accept the surrender of all Free French forces.

Within a week of Paris falling the Communist regime is to start moving some of the functions of capital to the true capital of France.

At sea the First Soviet Fleet of 8 Battleships, 12 Battlecruisers, 8 Heavy Cruisers, 10 Light Cruisers, 25 Destroyers, 15 Submarines is to attack and sink the Free French Navy.

Operation Global Red October.

As soon as the hostilities begin in France communications are to be sent to all Communist movements with the codephrase ‘Rosebud’. The signal to begin the worldwide strike against the capitalist oppressors!!!

Just a quick note: All nations that become independent or rebel groups must join the Committern this turn that start from this.

In North America this is to signify the takeover of Canada and California by Communist regimes. In the Confederacy it is going to be a little bit harder however communist propaganda is to be encouraged and Soviet investments in the Confederacy (from the former Italian Empire days) to be used to the Communists advantage.

In New England no support is to be given to the rioters.

In Central America the transmission of rosebud is to begin revolts in Cuba and the Yucatan. A force of 35 submarines is to sneak into the Carribean Sea undetected and deliver as many munitions as possible. They are then to sink as many USCA and Axis friendly ships in the whole area.

In South America the easy proximity to Africa which is the Soviet heartland makes it easy for us to arm the nationalist communist movements in this region. We shall support them wholeheartedly and will help train their men in camps in Africa. Futhermore we will send advisers to help assist the nationalists. Support the Venezuelans but not to a GREAT extent as they could prove more useful at war with Brazil

Once again in Madgascar this should be easier to help arm the communists in the nation. The destruction of a foreign monarchy is to be abhorred. 10,000 Soviet marines are to enter the country. Begin immediate negotiations on Madgascar becoming part of the Soviet Union… but do not push the issue their independence will be respected if that is what they choose.

In Ireland I am going to ask for a British fleet and small army to assist the Irish communists take over the nation.

With Yugoslavia and Greece it should be fairly easy to run arms into them and swing it into the Communist favour. See below for more details as these nations will be required to help me once converted.

Indochina also should immediately fall to me as it has 100% success. Indochina is then to work with Australia in that region.

China. Win the support of the masses. For too long the people have been oppressed by inept government. Show them we are a viable alternative in the areas we take over and soon we will control it all!

Give moral support to Comrade Stalin of Georgia and hope I can give him material support (see below) The Georgians are also to mount raids on Russian treasuries to capture the large fortunre they have built up.

In Finland have 15 submarines run armaments to them and have them rise up and take as much territory as they can, providing good propaganda and making real efforts to win the people over to them. They are also to mount raids on Russian treasuries to capture the large fortune Russia has built up.

Operation Turkish Delight


Once the Greek communists are in complete control (or by the 15th October at the very latest) invade Turkey by sinking their navy and making landings along their southern coast, while at the same time invading from across the border. Give arms to Kurdish and Armenian minorities promising them their own nations under the communist banner.

Three days after the invasion agents are to begin a series of gas attacks against Turkish leaders and government, while arms get smuggled in for Turkish Communists to take advantage of. Greece once secure is to invade Turkey itself (something that should unite the Greeks as Greeks and Turks hate each other)

By the end of October the Red Tide should of washed over the Turkish Republic and the Communist regime imposed. As the Turks don’t have poison gas defense use this to our advantage but don’t gas civilian populations.

Force Committed: 250,000 infantry, 300 Light Tanks, 2 ICs worth of Gribraldis, 1 ICs worth of Fighters, 10,000 marines, 20,000 Cavlarymen, 200 Lees, 12 Light Cruisers, 40 Destroyers, Greek Army and Navy.

Operation Race to Vienna

On the transmission of Rosebud the Soviet Second Army is to begin mobilization and massing near the Austrian border. On day 7 of the revolution, the Yugoslavs should of drawn as many Austrian soldiers as they would sent. The Soviet army is then to be sent across the border, driving towards the Danube and linking up with Yugoslav forces in the south. And then in co-operation with Yugoslav forces begin the advance towards Vienna with the idea of capturing the Austrian capital and announcing the dissolution of the Union of Austria-Hungary and Yugoslavia and declaring Austria and Yugoslavia Communist Republics. As the Austrians don’t have submachine guns use these to our advantage and arm the Yugoslavians with them as well. The Austrians furthermore don’t have poison gas defense so lets educate them in its use against their military. Give poison gas and defense to Yugoslavia for them to also use it against the Austrians and make their army disintegrate even further. Do not use it on civilian populations.

Forces Committed: 500,000 infantry, 300 Lees, 400 Light Tanks, 2 ICs worth of Gribraldis, 2 ICs worth of Fighters, 1/3 of all conscripts.

Operation East Indies

As you publicly stated on the thread that ¾ of the economy for the Netherlands comes from their colonies in the East Indies I am going to encourage my Australian allies to take over the colony. Indochina is to fall to communism so help Indochina by beginning to build its economy up.

On 12th October 70,000 Australian Marines and 200,000 Australian infantry along with 100 Mules, and 200 Lees are to land in the East Indies occupying the colony and capturing its economic wealth for Australia and the Commintern. A fleet of half its navy is to help in the capture of the islands. This will overwhelm any defense the Netherlands can put up.

Domestic Orders

- Attempt to annex Phoenicia diplomatically, through economic and political pressuring and destabilization (see Espionage Orders). If that doesn’t work, see next turn’s military orders… :evil:

- Encourage our merchants to trade with the Israelis, establishing close diplomatic and mercantile relationships.

- Declare a reverence and toleration of all religions (as many of the Polytheisms of the day were very closely related). If things go well, perhaps this will cause Hittite Polytheism to merge with/be assimilated by Greek Polytheism.

Military Orders
Operation Thracian Freedom

Forces: 20 000 troops, level 3 training

- Strike at the Macedonian capital of Pella. With a bit of luck, they won’t have significant walls as they are fairly barbarian, but if they do, besiege and destroy them. Keep civilian casualties low, as we intend to annex all of Macedonia.

- If possible, lure the Macedonian army out of the city by attacking villages. Then we will be able to meet them on ground that we choose and have a greater chance for victory.

- This campaign should not prove terribly difficult, as we outnumber and outgun them. The generals are to make any changes to this very basic plan they want. After the decisive defeat of their army, the people are likely to fold. One Greek empire is the same as another, right? ;)

- After Macedonia is secured, the troops are to press on into Albania and defeat their armies in much the same way, through a combination of superior training and numbers.

- Do all this in the name of Hellenic unity and prosperity, as well as security against any barbarians or aggressors.

(Excuse the simplistic military orders, I rather hoped a campaign against an NPC could be as such as I’m trying to get these in ASAP.)

Espionage Orders

- Send secret ambassadors (in ships, the long way around, not through Assyria) to Persia informing them of an impending Assyrian attack. It probably won't save them, but it should tie Assyria up for a while. One hopes that such a thing would not find its way into the update as anything more than increased casualties for Assyria :p

- Begin cultivating relationships with politicians in Athens so that we'll have ears on the ground for changes in Athenian politics or votes on whether to go to war. Cultivate relationships with wealthy businessmen, particularly metics, the disenfranchised but often wealthy, foreign population.

Destabilization of Phoenicia

- Given that Phoenicia is an oligarchy, infiltration should not be terribly difficult. Begin assassinating prominent “nationalists” and their influential supporters. Cultivate relationships with wealthy individuals that can be convinced that they would benefit from Byzantine rule.

- Spread fears of the barbaric Assyrians planning to rampage across Phoenicia, burning and pillaging and of legalistic Israel invading and destroying the Phoenician gods. Start rumours in the marketplaces and in the small villages. Have some suggest that possibly Byzantine rule would benefit Phoenicia the most, as they would be able to protect them while letting them worship their gods.

- Tell aristocrats that are being held out of power that if they seize power and turn Phoenicia over to Byzantium, they will be appointed to government positions in Phoenicia.

If the Destabilization of Phoenicia is successful and we receive Phoenicia…

- Arrest and execute all plotters against the former state of Phoenicia, liquidating and redistributing their assets amongst the populace (yes, that means the guys we were working with, all of them must die). Declare that traitors are never tolerated, particularly when they hurt the people of Phoenicia, a people Byzantium now swears to protect against all outsiders.

- Retain the services of their armed forces and supplement them after our military campaigns are over.

- Allow a merchant assembly to be formed to provide advice to the governor and to suggest legislation.

Domestic Orders
- Continue encouraging relationships with the Israelis

- Set up enclaves for Phoenician refugees and their descendants, essentially equivalent to merchant quaters. Allow them to continue practicing their merchants way.

- Continue assimilating Hittite Gods, begin referring to Temples as combination names (similar to Zeus-Ammon in Libya, the combination of Zeus and Amun-Ra), with the Greek god name the dominant/first name.

- Enact homesteading in Macedonia to encourage loyal citizens to settle there. Refrain from removing native land owners, though, provided they remain loyal. The small (assumed, as they were relatively poor) upper class of Macedonia is to be completely relocated to the newly renamed capital of Constantinopolis. They should not survive the boat trip there.

- This should result in a greater degree of loyalty from Macedon, as the only ones who would really have a problem with our rule at this point would be the higher class former rulers - poor people have rulers no matter which way you turn it.

- Liquidate the upper class' possessions and redistribute the wealth among the lower classes of former Macedon, further strengthening their loyalty. Also, encourage intermarriage between Macedonian and Byzantine Greeks by accepting the children of such a union as citizens.

Military Orders

Operation Epiric Victory
15 000 infantry + Constantine I

- Sweep into Epirus and raze their villages, forcing their armies to meet us in the field if at all possible. If it proves impossible, simply besiege and destroy them. This needs to happen as quickly as possible. During the fighting, the majority of the Epirote ruling class needs to be killed the help quickly subjugate the populace along the same lines as what was done in Macedonia.

- Sweep through Greece offering, as Alexander did and as Darius and Xerxes did, each city we come upon the opportunity to surrender. They should abandon Athenian domination in droves, especially when their armies are ill trained and ill prepared (level 1) compared to my crack armies of elites (level 4) and the fact that I will inform them that if they resist, their city will be reduced to rubble.

- If the city refuses, use catapults and other siege weaponry (built at the site) to bombard the city with flaming missiles. If there is a enemy force coming to relieve the city, build two defensive walls around the city, a la Julius Caesar vs. Vercingetorix, with defences (moats, traps etc.) on both sides. This will help to repulse the enemy relief force. Once the city is captured, if an oligarchy or monarchy, all the upper class people are to be slaughtered. If a democracy, the city itself is to be razed to the ground and no one left alive.

- Approach Delphi first and pay the proper respects to the Oracle. Then proceed south to Thebes. Send ambassadors to Sparta, offering them autonomy if they rebel against Athens.

- Force their armies to meet us in the field, as often happened, but on our terms. Use flanking hoplite tactics to defeat them, where one side of the lines is all veterans and they beat back and flank the center. Use cavalry to charge down their flanks at the opportune moment, hopefully causing them to break and run. The above is standard tactics for our armies, although revisions are allowed as our generals are experienced.

- We should be able to toss aside their poorly trained military. Depending on our levels of success in Greece, and the Phoenician levels of success, we might continue southwards after besieging Athens, but if Sparta is rebelling, tenuously incorporate them into the Empire, however allow them a large degree of autonomy until they can be properly dealt with.

Operation Hiram's Ex
5 000 infantry

- Send an Israeli born messenger to Hiram stating that Israel does not take kindly to Byzantium's aggression so close to Israel's border and is sending a force to help Hiram stabilize his situation and dissuade a Byzantine invasion.

- Land troops in northern Israel (away from Israeli cities, very close to the Phoenician border) and march them north under Israeli banners. When Hiram meets them, arrest him and execute him. Enter their cities under the Israeli banner and then install pro-Byzantine rulers and execute all anti-Byzantine agitators.

- The confusion should allow our superior ability to smash the untrained, uncoordinated, and leaderless enemy.

- If Hiram does not believe the messenger, have the force invade Crete instead, rapidly seizing the cities and executing the ruling class, following the same redistribution laws we've laid down. If it will help convince him, send a mock invasion force (our navy) careening towards Phoenicia so that he believes an invasion is imminent (after they drop the forces off in Israel, of course)

Operation Our Aegean
20 ships

- If possible, attack the Athenian piecemeal as it is probably dispersed across its island empire, tied up protecting merchant shipping/patrolling/collecting taxes, etc. They should be sent ahead of the land force and start taking out the enemy navy bit by bit.

- If the Athenians gather their forces together after our initial assault, drive a wedge through their forces. This should confuse and disorient them, as well as cut at least half of them off from their commander. In the ensuing melee, ram the enemy ships to sink them, and also board them and capture their ships if possible.

Espionage Orders

- Assassinate some of Sargon's more sane generals, so that his madness will meet only mad council. Hire a Persian to make the deal with another Persian, so that the action will be very hard to trace back to us.

- Use Athenian contacts to decry the government's betrayal of Byzantium, their Hellenic brothers, for some second rate backwater nation. Generally create confusion and try to cultivate a large enough following (by promising a large number of people they will be allowed Athenian autonomy with their rivals currently in power removed if they help).

Nation Background: In the 200s, Byzantium rapidly became Kyrian. The nation focused on northward expansion for a time, securing regions up to the Danube, and the Sava. After the fall of Aegypt, Minoa was occupied and incorporated in a brief war. However, rapid Persian expansion in Mesopotamia turned the Emperors’ attention to the Middle East, and there Byzantine armies fought and died, first against the Persians, and then against the Rubenid hordes that replaced them. The Huns and their various barbarian allies struck from the north in the 300s, and for two centuries, it was Byzantium that waged the primary war against them, as the Celtic Empire had received the brunt of the assaults and had quickly fallen. The colony on the Bosporan was lost, but in the end, all the barbarian tribes were largely defeated. The Byzantines have managed to withstand the passage of time, if not prosper for it.


NOTE: I realize that you mainly give Culture and Confidence boosts as a result of stories, but is there any way I can get some from all my reforms and whatnot? My orders for the reforms are practically stories in and of themselves. I’m not asking for anything big, but I have notice that I’m lagging because I haven’t written that many stories (something I’m going to begin remedying). If not, well, thanks anyway. I hope I can get another story out before the deadline.

Domestic Orders

1) ON THE VENICE AREA

- Begin integration and conversion of new lands. Annex the Venice area. Begin construction of Ekklesia across the area. Focus intense conversion efforts, especially among the lower classes. Accord Celtic Kyrians special status; make them full citizens with rights equal to Greek Kyrians. Ensure all laws use the above language; we are all Kyrians, where we are from is of secondary importance and is therefore the modifier of who we truly are (Kyrians). Encourage retired soldiers to settle in the Venice area (given the length of time, the ranks will be replaced with new recruits and the older ones will be granted lands in Venice). Even before the Ekklesia are up and running, temporary accommodations can be made and our missionary apparatus can be applied to bring willing missionaries to Venice to begin constructing a hierarchy for our new converts, as well as begin good works among the populace to set an example and to encourage converts.

- Promulgate the Doctrine of Limited Revelation. The Doctrine states that, according to revelations from God Almighty, investigation and research by Kyrian scholars, and prayerful meditation by Theologoi, it has been determined that other religions may offer limited knowledge of Autogenes, the Father, God Almighty, or some aspect therein (e.g., the Trinity). As such, it is better to try to find these truths within the religion to determine how compatible the two are and how close the other religion is to the Truth of Kyrianity. Assimilation afterwards should prove easier as similarities can be drawn that make the new believers more accepting of the faith faster. It is key to note that there will be no changing of established doctrine to fit other faiths; rather missionaries will work to discover that which will make the transition from heathen religions to Kyrianity the swiftest. For instance, the parallel of the trinity of Trinitism to the Trinity of Kyrianity; the Oneness of Amon-Ra with the Oneness of Autogenes; the shared tales and heritage of Judaism and Kyrianity.

- Prohibit proselytizing by other faiths. Trinitists will not be forced to abandon their faiths unless they become violent or traitorous, however they will not be allowed to execute missionary work within Kyrian borders. Set up schools within the Venice area for all Celtic children through 10 years of age. Teach Greek and then reading and writing (in Greek). To make the education invaluable to middle class and up children, all official mercantile business must be done in Greek to facilitate trade throughout the empire. Celtic artisans may conduct business in their native language assuming they are not conducting foreign trade or trading with a Greek-speaker. All civil service positions will be open to Greek-speaking Celtic Kyrians (as well as Greek Kyrians), however limited civil service positions will be afforded to Greek-speaking Celtic Trinitists (VERY limited – the idea is to make the Greek language invaluable regardless).

- Celtic Trinitists will be treated well, but Celtic Kyrians will be treated as brothers. They are full citizens and will be fully integrated into the Empire with full rights. When the time is right, Celtic Kyrian clergy will begin appearing who can bring the Message of the Guardian to other Celts (in Greek, of course). The Trinitist Church apparatus will be largely dismantled and centralized into a few locations where the Empire can keep an eye on the proceedings (however, they will not be forced to preach what the Empire wants, so long as they do not preach treason and rebellion). Worship of other Pagan deities is outlawed; only Trinitism, Ctha’rism, Judaism, and Kyrianity are legal.


2) ON OUR MIDDLE EASTERN ACQUISITIONS

- A somewhat different approach may be required here. As these are Jews, we are somewhat less concerned with their conversion (which is not to say we don’t care, merely that they already believe in Autogenes, merely an incomplete version of Him). Our conversion efforts will be strong, but we don’t want to provoke some massive backfire. As such, we will treat them very well to begin with and allow them even more rights than Celtic Trinitists (however, not as many rights as those Benjids who convert to Kyrianity). We will try to demonstrate that we are sane, peaceful, prosperous rulers, especially in comparison to their former overlords. Also, while the religious laws of Kyrianity will have to be observed (as they are Law across the Empire), Jewish Law will remain in their lands, applicable only to those who remain Jewish (Kyrian Law is much more morality based and does not include laws on sacrifices or particular duties on particular days).

- We will focus on trying to bring prosperity and stability to the region, to demonstrate to them God’s favour for us and His loss of favour for their former rulers (and thus for Kyrianity and against Judaism).


3) ON THE GENERAL WELFARE

- After our numerous reforms we have a fairly well oiled machine of state. However, the schools established in the Venice area will be established all over the Empire, including in our formerly Benjid lands. The schools will teach spoken Greek, Greek reading and writing, and Kyrianity. They will be funded by the Church and the clergy will run the schools.

4) ON THE CRUSADES

Italian Campaign
10 divisions, 5 Kyriohippeis divisions

- Italia is weak, particularly her navy. We will destroy what is left of her navy and invade. Strategos Tethyrippus of the Kyriohippeis will command the attack. He is a young man from Trebizond who has fought with first Alexandros in the Celtic Crusade and then Phillipos in the Benjid Crusade. He has a large amount of experience and is a solid commander. He leads a force that outnumbers the enemy by a decent amount, but more importantly outtrains the enemy twice over.

- He will lead his army down the Italian Peninsula from Venice, conquering as he goes. If the Ctha’rists attack, he is to respond forcefully without asking for permission. We have no knowledge of their plans for this turn and communication has been sparse, so a betrayal is a distinct possibility.

- Press down to the Heel, go around Rome (hopefully they have the majority of their army stationed there and will either be forced to come out and meet us on our own terms or else stay in the city and allow us to take the rest of the Peninsula with ease.

- If that proves not to be the case, and the majority of the army is in the field, defeat the army and take Rome (unless the Ctha’rists take it, in which case only take if war breaks out between Aegypt and Byzantium and then only if its not too heavily fortified). Take the rest of the Peninsula as quickly as possible to grab it before the Ctha’rists can take it. However, we are still cooperating with them, so work alongside them and be genial and accommodating. We don’t want a war, we’re just paranoid one will be begin soon.

- Once Italia is taken, execute similar conversion/societal tactics as outline in ITEM #1. Fortify 5 divisions in Italia and the rest will return to Alexandros’ command.

- If there is so much as a hint of betrayal by the Celts of our peace, Alexandros is to respond with extreme prejudice. No matter what they do, however, there is likely to be some sort of altercation that reopens the war due to the tensions on both sides. In the event of a betrayal or an altercation leading to war, the following tactics are to be employed.

- The Celts will likely be focusing their attack on the Aegyptians to the west. We are to flank them and destroy them. They will have to get around the Alps to attack the Aegyptians, but we have a coastal passage around the Alps already in our control. If they attack the Aegyptians and seem to be winning, we are to wait for the opportune moment and flank them, hard, crushing them between a Crusade and a hard place. We are then to resume our northern campaign through Germany, going around the Alps and striking to their northeast while the Aegyptians forcus on the northwest. Striking north along our original lines of attack would prove beneficial, although we don’t want to overexpand and be unable to protect what we have gained. Making the Celts come to us is another time-tested practice and will allow us fight an offensive war defensively with all the benefits that entails. Thus, while we are wary of the Celts and intend to add most of Italia to our domain, the name of the game is consolidation before overexpansion.

- If the Aegyptians attack us EDITOR'S NOTE: I was rather wary of Kal at this time for no apparent reason. I was just skittish. So I had lots of contingencies in case of betrayals, use the fleet to destroy theirs and consolidate our gains in Europe while attacking theirs. Blockade their ports and prevent their troops from naval transportation and shut down their trade capabilities. A defensive army of 10 divisions and 5 Kyriohippeis can remain in Venice while Alexandros takes the bulk of his forces and invades Aegypt proper, via Phoenicia and Israel (reclaiming Ancient Byzantine lands). The rest of the contingency for Aegypt will be contained in the Middle East section.

- If the Aegyptians do not attack us, we will maintain our united front, while allowing the Aegyptians to take the brunt of the Celtic attack. If the Celts and the Aegyptians have signed alliance and betrayed us, we will abandon Italia, fortify in Venice, destroy their navies, and then counterattack violently, despite our normally cautious stance about overexpansion. If we are betrayed by both, we will absorb their first attack and then rampage across the Holy Celtic Empire until we can force a peace with them while at the same time fending off Aegyptian attack through our superior naval forces. Once we have completely dismantled the Celtic ability to defend themselves, we will be able to force a favourable peace before dealing with the Aegyptians.

- We will continue our original plan of action, striking across to capture the Caspian sea EC of the Benjids, but we have to worry about our Northern flank. Our troops outmatch theirs many times over, however we must still be careful. Once we capture these areas, the army will, if the navy is available, travel to Bulgaria where they will meet up with Bulgarian divisions and a combined invasion of Khazaria will be enacted. Before this, however, Bulgaria will need to deal with her internal problems and as such, will expand her army, crush her rebels, and then meet up with our forces for an invasion that doesn’t require crossing mountainous terrain. To appease the Aegyptians, we will let them secure most of the area (which will also help given that our troops will be badly overstretched if they try to defend the area and attack Khazaria.

- If the Aegyptians betray us, we will abandon the above plan and instead strike at Baghdad, liberating it, before moving on to join Alexandros in campaigning from Phoenicia, down the Levant, and eventually into Aegypt Proper in a punitive campaign designed to throw the Aegyptians into disarray and allow us to make peace on our terms.

- If the Khazarians execute an attack over the mountains, we should be able to repel it before counterattacking from Bulgaria. Phillipos is extremely experienced fighting in the area and is a naturally brilliant commander with years of general experience and training. He should be able to deal with any Khazar feints or tricks, especially given the rough numerical parity and gross training and experience advantage in his favour.


Espionage sections removed. I do think its funny that this was the first turn I thought to actually consider some domestic counterintelligence type stuff and it turned out to be the turn my favourite leader and his son dies and I suffer rebellion as a result. If only my bloody intuition could have warned me a turn earlier ;)

Various means either various NESes, or NESers, depending, Unknown means no identified NES immediately given, ? after a name means serial number unknown. Only maps post really included was Panda's NES2 VI maps post because it had a lot of them.
 
Bactarasha Orders from ITNES:

When I first took it during BT:

-With great difficulty I managed to write some general orders.

-Continue expansion into the north. Wipe out Huns and other tribes. Find a good natural boundary to stop at. After conquest make the people citizens and incorporate them into the empire.

-Expand in the Caucuses as well until my territory surrounds the Caspian Sea.

-Swallow Phoneica a small nation it will fall quickly. Again incorporate them as a productive part of the empire by whatever method necessary. Take over fortifications near Egypt and man them.

-Attack Mohenjedaro and take everything until the Indus River. Do this during a time they are distracted or something. Incorporate the territory into the Empire. (Build watchtowers, and border forts along the new border)

-Project: Build a massive road network linking all parts of the empire. Create a speedy messenger system using horses to supplement this.

Project: Have my cities along the borders of Luca, Israel, Central Asia and Mohenjedaro fortified with walls and such.

-Build a sewer network, public baths, and public toilets in all my cities and towns it will encourage hygiene and prevent spread of diseases.

-Centralizes further until we are at the medium level. Tight Federation I believe.

-Crack down on corruption get rid of ineffectual civilian and military leaders to improve leadership.

-Encourage trade new ports on the Mediterranean from conquered Phonecia will help this.

-Introduce a police/militia system. Every single town and city shall raise levy forces. These levy forces will act as a local militia. They will basically serve as a police force to keep law and order in those towns and cities and be a local militia. Since they are localized there should not be morale problems. (Make this a volunteer system, however if we don’t get enough then we will levy.)

-Continue espousing Bactarashan nationalism. Glory of the nation/Empire type of stuff.

-Allow my missionaries to convert people to whatever is the dominant religion in my nation but it must be done peacefully not by force. Continue freedom of religion however.

-Grow military and economy to good amounts. Consolidate new conqetst. (Northern territories, Phoneicia, Mohenjedaro west of the Indus)

-If Razh-Ahul Viaytri dies have him succeeded by his most able heir. (Including females) They should be all trained from birth in the art of ruling. The Imperial Saba can continue to give advice and such.

-Should there be no suitable heir the Saba shall elect one of their members to rule. (not preferable)

-Crush any revolts against my rule brutally. However people who obey me shall prosper.

-Build as many fortifications as possible along the Indus with what time we have.

If Kalinga attacks
-Deploy 40 thousands to Indus along with all Levy troops. Use my barricades, and fortifications to keep them from crossing the river (destroy all bridges first). Deploy artillery, archers, javalineers etc and rain flaming arrows and artillery down on any troops that attempt to cross the river. Have pointed staves and spear armed soldiers ready to impale them (Take that Kaligan city north of the Indus in Kashmir with Levy forces. If too difficult just burn it)

-I think we have oil now right? Use jars full of oil with a cloth on top as my artillery. The cloth will be lit before the jar is flung and it will work as an ancient gas bomb causing an explosion. (this also has the added bonus of freighting the elephants)

-Breed and release mice (cartoons tell me elephants are scared of them)

-Breed some crocodiles, piranhas, snakes etc…and release them into the river.

-Burn lots of garbage and stuff along the riverbanks so there’s lots of smoke so the Kaligan kites can’t operate well. Order any kites seen to be shot down with flaming arrows. Breed and release birds, hawks, etc… to interfere with the kites.

-Pour poison, garbage, dead burning bodies, refuse etc…into the river.

-Keep a garrison in every city along the borders of Luca and Kalinga

- Sail 10 ships into the Indus river to help interfere with any Kalingan attempts to cross it.. Have the ships use artillery, marines, flaming arrows etc…to prevent all attempts to cross the river.

-If the ships sustain heavy damage I want to beach them on the riverbank and set fire to them to use them as a blockade.

-If necessary force everyone into the army to fight man, woman, and child (not preferable however)

-The Indus must be held at all costs. If the Kalingans manage to break through use scorched earth pull back to the cities and hold them as long as possible. Use street by bloody street fighting to fight for every inch of land.

-If it looks like the city is going to fall burn it.

-When in battle against elephants use lots of flaming arrows, artillery distance weapons. Also beat drums and make loud noises to try to scare them and cause them to rampage.

-Deploy 22 thousands 5 thousands Razha Cavalry and the Leavy that were raised in that area along Luca. (If Luca attacks if it doesn’t attack send the forces to Kalingan border Indus)

Take that Lucan city in the north using Levey forces. If it is too hard to take just use flaming arrows, artillery etc…. to burn it.

-Have a garrison in every city along Lucan border. (Phoenicia too to prevent naval landings)

-Have my Razha cavalry fight their Royal Cavalry. Harass Infantry by peppering them with arrows, (flaming) cantabarian circile and other nomadic type cavalry tactics before smashing

-Build as many fortifications as possible for Lucan attack. Use scorched earth if forced to pull back. Fight for every inch of land with blood.

-If necessary force everyone into the army to fight man, woman, and child (not preferable however)

-Give my generals the flexibility and freedoms to adopt their tactics based on the situation don’t make my hierarchy too rigid.

-Any deserters will be killed in the most brutal way imaginable.

-Personally lead my forces as a morale booster where the hardest fighting will occur.

Kaligan War

-Train all forces vigorously to allow them to compete with Kaligans

-Mass 30,000 Levy forces along the border defenses and levy more forces if necessary. The intention is to make it look like we are preparing to strike from the Indus.

-Have my 5,000 Razha cavalry carry out a diversion attack in northern Indian plains. (Away from the south) The attack is to distract the Kaligan forces and make them think I am attacking in the north. Mass troops in that general area as well to reinforce the belief and spread the rumors among traders. The attack must be determined and convincing. If I mange to take any ground burn, loot, rape pillage scorch earth whenever possible.

-Meanwhile my fleet 30 ships in the Persian Gulf will load 42 thousands and head toward Gujarat. They will land in Gujarat thus effectively flanking the Kaligan forces who should be on the border (use spies to ascertain this)

-They will attack the Kaligan forces in the south from the flanks routing them. Along the way do my typical scorched earth raping looting and pillaging anywhere possible. The intent is to hurt Kaliga as badly as possible and force them to capitulate.

-As a result of these policies it will cause much fear and many refugees damaging Kaligas economy and confidence.

-We are to try to take and destroy as much land in the south (Gujrate area) as possible.

-Send assains to assinate the Kaligan kings son who is said to be along the Ganges.

-If not possible than assinate military leaders.

-Infiltrate spies and contact Mohenjedaron rebels and urge them to revolt prior to our invasion and promise them liberation and independence if they do.

-Try to get informants and spies from them.

-Contact Sinhala, Deecania, and basically anyone not happy with Kaliga the same deal

-After my ships 30 perform their mission sail them into the Indus and use the to prevent any Kaligan crossing using the tactics mentioned in the previous orders.

-Use defensive tactics mentioned in the previous orders as well

-Evacuate the area that Kaliga wants in the peace treat. First I want to loot it of everything valuable, and carry it off, burn the city, poison the wells, slat and burn the land, burn the cities, and forcibly evacuate the citizens. I also want to dig pits and put sharpened stakes in as booby traps and such.

-I then want to us my levy forces to garrison all my loyal cities.

-Meanwhile set up my new capital at Mandalaputra and send the loyal members of the Sabah and Mansabh there.

-Allow the various barbarian tribes to settle on and along my borders in exchange for military service. (The land in red shows the land I’m willing to give up to the barbarians if necessary.)

-Send Simak to gather my loyalist forces at Mandalaputra
-Take my army hardened from the Indian campaign and march them as shown along the blue arrows. We will smash the various rebellions. Before I attack however throw open the offer for any peasants or troops to join me and swear loyalty if they do they will be granted amnesty. (Any barbarian or loyalist forces gathered should meet up with my army)

-As my army advances I want to slauther the revolting forces showing no mercy. The disloyal nobles and governors are all to be killed as well. Basically my hardened forces should smash the poorly lead rebels.

-As I liberate cities and towns from rebel control. I want to place the nobles and governors that remained loyal to me in control. They shall be well awarded for their loyalty.

-If the populace decides to resist or hold out against my army I will then massacre them and burn their cities.

-The revolting minorities will be treated harshly and be genocide. Bloody minorities. Basically more or less kill everyone who revolted against me along with their families and relatives and seize their land and wealth and use it to rebuild the country.

-I must liberate every single rebel held area, massacre all the rebels, their leaders, their families, also genocide the revolting minority groups.

-The rebellion will be crushed so completely that people will not even dare speak the word out of terror. Nay they will not even dare think it!

-After the rebellions are over put loyalists as governors and stuff. Meanwhile my army should be deployed on the Lucan border and in the Fertile Crescent area.

-If Luca invades my strategy will be to hold them at the border defenses for as long as possible then retreat using a scorched earth tactic. Allow them to advance deep into the country all the while attacking their supply lines and harassing them with partisans. Finally once they are trapped deep behind my lines and try to retreat cut them off and surround and massacre them.

-After all the fighting is over begin reconstruction to my current add rebuilding of infrastructure, cities, towns, farms etc…

-Encourage trade again, train and discipline my military again to make them a feared fighting force once more.

-Make sure military and civilian leadership is good. I have already weeded out the disloyal ones precede to weed out the incompetent ones and the corrupt ones next.

-Most of my army should be stationed in the west. I want levy forces in every single city and town to ensure there are no further revolts, to act as a militia to keep order as well.

-Rotate my forces around the empire so they have skill in battling in a variety of situations.

Overall my orders were pretty bad and fairly ametuerish. I like to think I've improved since then but my lack of sucess in anything indicates I haven't...ah well...

-A 3 pronged attack into France.

-Basically the two southern attacks are diversions. In the south we will launch a large-scale artillery bombardment of France trying to break their fortifications and lines.

-50 divisions will be involved in that attack. This attack is a diversion so the French forces move south away from where the main offensive is going to occur. These forces will press forward however as if they are really launching an offensive. The intent is to lure the French forces out of the Alscane-Loairne area to come contend with us. We should attempt to tie down as many French forces as possible.

-The second attack will take place immediately after this one.

-30 divisions will invade into the Alscane-Loairne area. The intent is to lure the French forces out of Southern Belgium and make them fight us here. We will press forward in this area to make the French feel like we are intent on breaking through them so they will move additional forces to this central area. We should attempt to tie down as many French forces as possible.

-The main offensive will take place through Belgium. 30 SS Stormtrooper divisions, and 20 divisions will attack through Belgium and drive straight for Paris. If the decoy attacks and diversions worked than the majority of the French forces should be in Central France and too tied. Our elite troops should head straight for Paris after punching through French lines.
Artillery support and artillery bombardment will be used to destroy any enemy fortifications, strongholds, and we will even shell Paris if need be.

-Artillery support will be used for all offensive and wherever necessary.

-Extra forces will be used as reserves to reinforce wherever necessary. They will also keep order in the nation and put down any Socialist uprisings in Germany or Poland-Lithuania brutally by force.

-The Italians may attack in southern France so work with them if possible.

We expect to attack the Sea Peoples this update barring a couple of contingencies that will be covered later. The signal to go to war will come via pigeons (see below) from our agents in Sparta, Tyre, the river valleys of the Fertile Crescent and ships at sea. They will confirm battles between Sea Peoples and Sparta and war activity along the Sumerian border. We want to know that we are not deceived by backdoor diplo. Once we know that war is on, we will attack the next February. If there is long time gap, this delay should draw SP troops away from our front to the others.

The plan is to invade the Levant from Suez with two armies that will operate close together (Sun and Moon) and be able to support one another in battle. In general the armies will move quickly and bypass difficult to capture fortified places. The goal is to get the armies as far north as Tyre and control all the land between Suez and Tyre. All civilians in the captured land will be either killed or enslaved and sent back to Egypt. No local population will remain to rebel, cause trouble or hide partisans. If local crops and granaries are not burned or destroyed, we will harvest the crops (see section of agriculture below). Skilled soldiers disguised as part large trade caravans will occupy the major wells between Suez and the Jordan River and be ready to keep them from being poisoned by the enemy. Raiding horsemen will be dealt with by chariot archers when they venture close. We will not pursue them into rough terrain.

Once through the Sinai, the armies will advance up the coast and generally remain in the Tyre area and forage north as needed. If enemy armies move in to attack we will choose battlefields best suited to our battle plans and the use of chariots. We will not attack well defended strongholds. We will cut off their supplies and wait for them to come out to fight or die of thirst and hunger. Our armies strive to win every fight and only do battle on our own terms. They will expect ambushes and surprise attacks and will take precautions. One goal of the armies is to isolate Tyre from any nearby mainland sources of food and water.

Agriculture and city and army supply:
In ancient times cities and farmers relied on the harvest to provide crops that could be stored until the next harvest. In the Middle East harvest time was March through June. The rainy season was October through January. This means that granaries and other storage facilities were at their lowest levels in January – March, just as the winter rainy season ended. It also means that if crops are burned and storage building destroyed prior to the harvest, there will be neither food for the following year nor any to replenish granaries. This is all very important to our attack plan. We will invade in February and strike quickly for the farmland all in the areas south and SE of Tyre. Should the enemy burn their crops to prevent them falling into our hands they will be damning themselves to starvation in the following years. If they cannot plant new crops before the rains, then there will no crop the following year. If our enemy does not burn his fields, then we will be able to harvest them very soon. The removal of the population will minimize any interference.

In Egypt the cycle is slightly different. The Nile floods from June to October and crops are harvested March through June. The new Egyptian harvest will be ready to supply our armies all through the summer and fall should it be needed. The flooded Nile will make any attacks against Egypt from the sea very difficult and pose real risks of invaders ships running aground in unfamiliar channels. Our supply caravans that support our armies will travel far enough from the coast so that they cannot be seen by spying ships and when not engaged in battle, detachments form the armies will escort supplies from Suez to the front.

Communications and spying:
Prior to the war, we will establish agents in various parts Sparta, Sea Peoples kingdom and Tyre, and along the Sumerian borders. All of our agents will use homing pigeons to communicate among themselves and with Pharaoh and his armies. [This is historical] Pigeons will allow us to know quickly what is afoot all around the eastern Mediterranean. See contingencies. Shore based observers and patrolling galleys will be able to send word immediately should unexpected or waited for events occur. It might take the King in Tyre a week to hear of an attack in Sinai, but our agents in Tyre would know within hours. Our generals will use pigeons to stay in touch and know what is going on elsewhere.

Spies will infiltrate the defenses between Suez and Tyre and report the strength and location of the enemy. This will enable us to either over come the weak spots or isolate difficult strongholds and keep moving. Detachments will be left behind to contain isolated enemy troops. They will be able to draw support if needed from troops guarding the Egyptian coast.

The Attack on Tyre
We will not directly assault the city. We will try to make it unlivable and to eliminate it as a significant trading center. Prior to any attack on the Sea Peoples troops in the Sinai, we will establish agents in Tyre. When they hear (via pigeons) we have attacked and before that knowledge comes via messenger to the city, our agents will poison the city’s water cisterns with putrid and rotting carcasses of animals. The bodies will be weighted so they sink to the bottom. The idea is to make people sick and the water undrinkable. Over time it will get worse and the people sicker from drinking more of it. Since no new rains will come for 10 months, if they drain the cisterns to clean them, they will have no water except what can be brought in by boat: too little to feed a major city. Illness will incapacitate the soldiers and people. Traders will go elsewhere. All contact with the mainland will be cut off by our armies. The people will soon demand surrender. If the people of Tyre surrender, they will be enslaved or put to the sword. We will loot the city for EP treasure and move Egyptians in later.

In the weeks prior to the expected war special “trading” ships will dock at Tyre. These ships are filled with pitch and other flammables so they will burn mightily. Two days after the cisterns are poisoned; these ships will be set afire to destroy harbor infrastructure and any warships. The ships will be spread around the harbors so that the destruction will be greater.

On a regular basis we will launch small boats into the two harbors. These attacks will come at night and when the small boats, loaded with pitch, get amongst the trader and military boats, they will be ignited and burn some of the vessels near them. Again we want to drive away all foreign traders and destroy any war ships we can.

Spoiler Battle tactics: :


Typical formation: spearmen in center and swords on flanks; archers behind spearmen; chariots held in reserve. Archers fire over spears to weaken defense prior to spears engaging. Spears hold enemy in place while swords work to wrap one or more flanks and envelope the enemy. Chariots sweep around the weakest side and attack from the rear or go after enemy reserves or leader. They use arrows and chariots to instill fear and panic in the enemy so they flee and can be cut down easily. Chariots are designed to be a flexible reserve should they be needed prior to engaging in a flank to rear attack. They will be on the alert for ambushes by any enemy mounted troops.

Should enemy ships sail up the Nile, they will not be hindered. The first night they are there, fire ships (small wood and reed boats) will be sent down the river in large numbers to set fire to the enemy boats. The fire boast will be manned by a crew to get them in place before they are set alight. The crews will then slip overboard and swim to safety. Any UUs present will be special targets. We will do so at night to increase the panic.

1) If our agents discover that no war takes place between the SP and Sparta and Sumer and SP. Then we will not attack.
2) If the King of the SP makes a trip to Egypt, then he will be welcome and well treated in Thebes. Any attack will be held off until he is under our “protection” in Thebes. The garrison will be increased from the Army of Nubia. Once he is in Thebes he will be shut off from all outside communication (house arrest) and at the next Feb. we will attack. He will not know of the war, just that he is a prisoner. After peace is made he may well be set free. If there is no war anywhere and he comes to visit he will be well treated and then sent home with gifts.
3) If our intelligence tells us, or we find out the hard way, that the SP launch a major attack on Egypt via ships, our Egyptian based armies will gather to defend the home land. The Army of the Moon can also be brought home; their retreat protected by the Army of the Sun.
4) If our initial assault is defeated or seriously checked in the Sinai area, we will hold our positions and defend Egypt. Tyre will not be attacked.

Expolorer Yildirum Murad + 5 divisions/5 squadrons (once improved by Spanish shipbuilders) to travel down the east coast to Ethiopia- a show of strength as well as improving relations, then they will cross to the far coast of Saudi Arabia and down to Yemen visiting Sanaa (the city Identified on the map I presume?) Here unless the locals are nice and capitulate to my rule (show of arms with divisions and ships) we will lay siege to the city. Ships will regularly travel back and forth to ensure supplys remain. Murad will travel across the coast to The Land of Punt, also called "Ta Netjer", or "God's Land", was a fabled and exotic site in eastern Africa. This is part of a pilgramage important to Murad and allowed by Al. His spirit encouraged he will set out to Gujerat and ask if they would accept a colony/trade centre there. Then finishing off at Sri Lanka – North West side set up a Trading post. The North West side of Sri Lanka is much more habitable climate than the South Eastern side. Hopefully this will develop as strategic naval link between West Asia and South East Asia, The export of tea, coffee, rubber and coconuts will also be valuable.

Explorer Sigismund Sayf-Bay to Zanzibar for a trading post. We know small scale traders use the monsoon winds to sail across the Indian Ocean and landed in the sheltered harbor located on Zanzibar. Although the islands have few resources of interest to us, they offered a good point from which to make contact with the towns of the East African coast. Also it is a good mid point around the African Coast and will hopefully become an important link to the Indian Markets for others…of course taking advantage of Zanzibar will not come for free. The dratted Portugal has shown a vague interest in Zanzibar over the last few years and getting once over them would also be a bonus.

1. Troop placement. Say where all of your troops are, including newly recruited ones, and what they are doing.
2. Justification for your actions. Things like increasing your economy are more likely to result in success if they're justified. Also, good descriptions may provide increased benefits. For example, you say to increase infrastructure. If you said "1 point to increase infrastructure by creating a national messenger system," and then got invaded that turn, odds are that your troops would be able to respond more quickly than normal. Justification for economic freedom and government control changes will make them less likely to cause unrest.
3. A map might help for the exploration voyages. Also, if you're talking about specific geography or locations, link to a map or a Wiki article to avoid the mod having to take the time to research.

Send 5 Divisions of troops over to 'defend' the Aegyptian owned lands of Bachiria. Aegpyt believes we are there to help them.

The night before, leave the gates of Mecca open for Bachirians to counterattack.

OPERATION KOOM - At the time the Sundial hits 8 AM, have 2 forces, one in Mecca (5 divisions) and one in the south of Aegypt (15 divisions), advance against the Aegyptians.

OPERATION YAM Two hours later, have the green force of 8 divisions leave on 10 squadrons of boats to attack the port EC of Aegpyt. (name?). The two empty squadrons will be at the front so that they can take the brunt of the battle against Aegpyt. They will be responsible for the destruction of the Aegyptian fleet attacking the other boats, so as many as possible divisions can assault and defend the EC.

The 7 and 6 divisions with white squares around them will defend the north and coast of Axum from all possible Aegyptian incursions.

OPERATION AHIM The 5 divisions in Mecca (orange arrow) will defeat the invading Aegyptians, allying for the faith of Bachiria. After that, hand over all land from aegypt and go recover more Aegyptian land. Play up the ‘recovering’ land part, not conquering. If they RECOVER all Bachirian land in the south, hop them across the red sea to defend Axumite conquered lands of the Aegyptians.

OPERATION KESEF The 15 divisions will split into two attack groups. Negev (purple) and Tzafon (grey), of 8 and 7. However, the grey group will not cross the river, but go around to the North end of the city. They shall besiege the city, and then move in and conquer it. Afterwards, 8 divisions shall defend, with part of the 6 that is covering that land to move up to supplement them. The surviving attacking divisions of the 15-8 shall advance forwards (blue).

Strategy

Use the element of surprise to our advantage. The Aegyptians expect our help, so we can put some MAJOR hurt on them. We can easily outnumber their troops in some parts, and they will be more offguard in Aegpyt proper, focusing on Middle East and Europe, where they have much dedicated. The quicker we act the harder they fall. We should have enough food, weaponry, etc. to survive this round and come out ahead. Make sure we can look like the moral victors in this battle. Call for conscripts to defend Judaism and have them defend Axum and Bachiria.

Aegypt should also trust us very much, as we fed them (mostly) true information gotten straight from HCE, Iberia, and even England. We sent them (almost undedited) pms from them, so they knew that they wanted us to attack them BADLY, and we said no again and again. Or so they thought.

Aegpyt attacked Bachiria for no reason. They went in and conquered the holy land. We had no chance of beating them at the time, and remained neutral. Now however, we have not only a chance, but also a good one. We are going to save Judaism, which is under threat from the Kyrians and Cth’arists, though they also worship Hashem in their own, wrong, way. They worship him but do not follow his way. Therefore we must now save Israel and the Yehudans from destruction, as though they have changed the way the worship from ours, they are still Jews, and still our brothers.

As was written in Parashat BeHar (ooc: memorized still, after all these years, my Bar Mitzvah portion) Ki-yamuch achicha umachar me'achuzato uva go'alo hakarov elav vega'al et mimkar achiv. If your brother becomes impoverished and sells some of his ancestral land, and a close relative comes and redeems that which his brother sold.

Your nations invaded another nation for no reason. They had no justifation, no reason for doing so. Through their actions, they have wraught chaos on the civilized world. DOMESTIC ORDERS

With war the only possible outcome between the Krengel and Singodia, council is sought with Prophet Josaul I, the Gaznelan spiritual leader. The alliance is strong and much aide is received. Josaul I agrees to send 600 Warrior Monks to defend the border, as well as educate the general of Abaddon's army to the best of his ability (+600 Monks, +2 education). In return the religion of Hehm is spread through out Singodia with Abaddon’s strong sponsorship. The People of Singodia rejoice and are spiritually uplifted. As such fear is no longer such a strong binding agent of this nation. Abaddon’s deeds cannot be forgotten overnight of course, but there is also now the binding sense of righteousness against the Krengel. Josaul I tours the country to spread the word of Hehm throughout and ensures everyone feels connected to their God.
Halds logging camp is to be constructed north east of the education deep into the Great Forests of Azerok. It will ensure the forts are supplied with the wood they need. The wood will reach the futherest away forts via the rivers, with the rest being transported over land. Previously hampered by people being worried of the forest spirits, Josaul I has offered blessing to all those that will help which will ward against such spirits.

The 600 Gaznel Warrior Monks are sent to the battle front at Fangar.

WAR ORDERS

Apart from a very thin scattering there will be a withdrawal from the lands (see image) If any attack is made, the lands will be obviously lost... if no attack comes we still have it vaguely controlled.

The land in front of the northern city Fangar was laced with briars and thorned bushes 5 years ago in preparation of the attack that never came. Also spiked pits were dug. By now those bushes should be big and thick, but the pits will have to be re-dug. Assumedly easier second time around though. The Nation is going to be levied to raise roughly 25,000 extra infantry. All getting trained in the art of archery. If that many are fired were bound to hit something! They will man the forts walls and rain down arrows on the enemy.
Initially though a network of forts needs to be hastily constructed with basic roads between. Any spare time will be spent constantly improving them. Adding raised areas, digging pits around them etc. ALL the land around is to be prepared when possible. The majority of the populace spare will be implementing this. The river flowing from the north will be blocked and directed onto the land in fount of the forts. Firstly this will stop any meddling by the Krengel, and create a boggy, marshy, thorny, spiky pity mess. Once these preparations are done, the 5000 poorer skilled of the levied soldiers will return to normal life, those showing some kind of mettle will remain. This will ease the initial strain on the economy. Each fort is to be stocked with supplies and the army evenly distributed between forts. This includes the Abyssal Riders and the Gaznel Monks. The Monks are to encourage the spirit of all those around them and lead counter attacks along with the Abyssal Riders. The generals high level of education (+2) gleaned from Gaznel should put them in good stead against the rabble hordes of Krengel. Each attack should bring the army into the boggy land to which they will be peppered with arrows. Carefully plotted firmer land will be used to launch any counter attacks once they are stuck. In the event of any attack fires will be lit to alert all the other forts. The two near forts army will then close in to help defend the fort. If the battle is really really intense and obviously the big thing a second fire will be lit and the majority of the army will be moved to the fort, also the previously levied troops which may have returned to normal life will get called up quick!

This is a war where we sit and let them throw themselves at us, counter attacks will be small and only to mop up attackers, not a full scale attack into Krengel.


The remaining 950 Abaddon’s Angels have another mission of mayhem! They are to skirt around the southern border of Krengel in the event of a dry summer. The tinderbox of the steppes is to be exploited to Singodian advantage. They will keep a good distance as to not be spotted. On the Summer solstice, with the winds whipping north they will advance. They will then split up into 5 groups and advance at night as deep as possible into Krengel territory. On location of any cattle they are to be killed and meat harvested to ensure the Angels remain fed. Once killed the land is then to be set alight. At worst this is a suicide mission, they will spread the fires as much as possible, and get out if they can. I want the steppes burnt; Krengel's wealth is in the land in his cattle, what are cattle worth if they are dead or have nothing to eat? (((Is this the date setter? oh they were good orders, if you hadn't forgotten about the map you would have forced the Krengels to a battle where you held an advantage.

Without the map the forts are implied to be in the north near Fangar.

Still the actual casuatlies are low, so make what you will of the situation.
