Hey guys, first off thanks for the great idea and work on this mod; it has loads of potential. After my first experiences with it and playing around on the 1939 scenarios a couple suggestions that have probably already been said, but I figure it never hurts to reiterate.
1) Everyone always says it, but it's true, the conglomerate of nations under Avenol's control is really painful. Maybe go ahead and throw belgium and the low countries in with France since it was really one massive campaing to remove the western portion of Europe. In doing this, you could buff the hell out of the lol-Maginot Line. Also, like someone suggested before, if the coding isn't too difficult to write, possibly use the Great Wall Wonder around a couple squares as some sort of defensive boost the the French units in the tiles, thereby simulating the difficulty in actually attempting to attack the French that way, at this point you can just walk over those units with some SS units. Switzerland is a tricky country to deal with since it never got involved, maybe landlock it with mountains and bundle it with Spain? I don't know, probably a dumb suggestion. I would put Greece and it's neighbors together to give that a feel of its own too. I think you've done a good job juggling the American role in this map. Poland's perfect and easily dealt with in 2-3 weeks. I'd toss Copenhagen up with Norway/Sweden if you feel like another country for early balance.
2) Unit balance, I'd say both Germany and England suffer from inferior airforces in the beginning. They could both use some more squadrons. It has been said before, but the German navy is large, too large. Also with regard to the navy, it is very easy to exploit naval combat. When playing as Germany, you can keep your units in Kilania or Hamburg and another back behind Copenhagen and the British navy will wrap around and move into Alborg for a turn. The problem is, that since they are naval units in a city with no ground unit guard, they are immediately sunk by any attack, ground or naval. I sent one u-boat into Alborg and immediately sunk 3 British battleships, while it was hilarious, it was a definite flaw.
3) Italy is kind of funny, they have a lot of half-assed armor/recon/truck units, and from my experience, they rush them all into France instantaneously and sweep out the Southern end of France. I found it quite commical having to out-blitzkrieg the Italians to reach Bordeaux and Nantes. Not the most historically accurate piece of computer AI, but you can't always tell the AI how history went down

While it's fun, if you wanted to keep it a little more accurate I might suggestion "expanding" the alps to maybe lock Italy into combat with Greece, or possibly scaling down their army a bit.
4) It's been said before, but to echo, research could stand to be sped up maybe a slight bit? It is a bit tedious. The same could maybe be argued for unit production, but that becomes a bit trickier because some countries could grossly become overpowered.
5) Start Germany off as Axis, pain in the ass to take a turn to switch.
Aside from that can't think of too much else at the moment, but I'll play some more and when I come across it I'll be sure to post, aside from that, once more to iterate, excellent mod and great effort!
