Pushing update back to tomorrow night.

I have returned from illness, which was the reason I was so inactive. I am reclaiming the Empire of India as of now. Orders will be in tonight.

Citizens of the Empire,
Great pride should fill us all as we have been united with our brethern in England. We should also be filled with gratitude toward that nations of the world that have made this possible. Though they fear the restoration of the British Empire, they have allowed us to reunite our peoples. We must prove to the world still that we do not mean to become the tyrants of the past, but supporters of future peace and independence.

It is with this that we will continue undertaking reforms for the future. One of these being the changing of our nations name, as it does not adequately represent all of our people and evokes memories of the British Empire. As such parliament has elected the renaming of the English Empire to the Union of Commonwealth States. It is felt this will fairly represent all citizens in England, South Africa, Pakistan, India, and Burma.

This will have no change to the current form of government, we will remain a constitutional monarchy with a parliament, prime minister, but I will relinquish my title of Emperor and assume that of a Monarch. Within the coming year elections for representatives will be held in England, after which they will be held in 4 years to coincide with the 6 year elections of the entire parliament.

At the current time the location of parliament will remain in New Delhi as Winchester and any other city in England lacks the premises to hold a parliament. The decision of the location of parliament will be decided by parliament in the coming year. I will however remain in Winchester to oversee the reconstruction of England, particularly the city of London.

We have survived a great test for our nation and I seek for us to come out stronger than before.

For the people.
For the Commonwealth.

His Majesty George V, King of the Union of Commonwealth States

Uh Tommy_toon Me and EQ already had a great deal of diplomact that would be involved in your next order. You might want to talk to him cuz it is really important that you know whats going on.

ooc:
tommy_toon:
The title of emperor is from how English monarchs were also known as Emperor of India. Seeing as how your king lost his position as King of England after the first great war, he used Emperor of India as his main title. You can still retain both titles now is my main point.

@Warman: I am well aware of this, and am trying to divert away from the path of the British Empire.

@human-slaughter: I will be leaving for work, meaning the rest of the night, in approximately 40 minutes. If you can fill me in on the diplomacy now that would be great, otherwise I probably won't be able to talk to EQ before the update.

Starting update now.

North/Central American News Report

CONDEMNATION OCCURS AS USA ANNEXES MEXICO. United States Army forces, using newly designed and construction heavy vehicles of war, have crushed remaining Mexican resistance under Pancho Villa in a pitched battle west of Mexico City. The last remnants under General Villa were forced to surrender to overwhelming American military might and have been sent to prison camps in northern Texas. The superior quality and advanced weapons of the American military kept Yankee casualties to a minimum, displaying the power of the new "tanks". Almost a quarter of a million Mexican fighters and civilians have been imprisoned as a result of crimes and continued fighting against the American military. However, despite the successes in the field, the American government has met widespread criticism from the liberal press and governments abroad. The nations of Eire, Argentina, and Persia have all spoken against American annexation of the troubled nation, though most interests seem to be neutral to the American endeavor to stablize Mexico. Already many have noticed a considerable decrease in conventional crime in Mexico as the country comes under American military law.

REFORMS IN NIPPON. Tokyo, Nipponese Empire. Emperor Meiji, absolute leader of the Nipponese Empire has created a broad expanse of reforms and reorganization over the previous years. As of April 13, 1917 the Nipponese Empire has been reformed into a partially democratic society as the Kokkai has at long last been given some veto power over the Emperor. In addition, the local authorities of provinces across the empire, particularly Australia and the East Indies have been given democratic rule on a local, civil level. Domestically, the Japanese have raised tariffs on merchant traffic through the parts of the Pacific dominated by the East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. European, particularly German, ships have been heavily taxed for travelling to northern Australia and Chinese ports. Though Nipponese merchants have prospered from these actions, a multitude of German merchants have protested to the government. (-5% Dissent for Nippon, +1 Private Enterprise)

Following the successful war against the former European colonial power of France, China has established its own alliance and power to compete with the might of the Common Front International and the Tehran Pact. Already the new organization has assisted in China's continuing economic growth as private businesses begin to flourish following the beginning of 1917's rapid demobilization. To the people of China it seems as though their nation has become a modern power to contend with the likes of the imperialists in Europe. @Tyrion and flyinchicken, have fixed your dissent issues, sorry about that.

@LightFang, I would like to talk to you about redoing the style of the Council of nations. I would like to know if you would be willing to do "mini-updates" involving the status of the council of nations, following each main update.

Never got orders from Slavic Souix, Tyrion, Swissempire, or The Farow. Try to get them in for next time please.

@Amon Savag, the military IC economic proposal you put to Siam doesnt quite work with the system, particularly considering the fact that at the moment they have a single IC.

props to Vanguard for helping me keep his background updated.

Your own representative to the Council of Nations has condemned your decision to annex Mexico. We wish to see you there as peacekeepers. We wish to remain allied to you. However, you are forcing our hand. We will leave the Tehran Pact if you do not reverse your decision of annexing Mexico. You brought this upon us, we had already stated to the world that we would not tolerate Mexico being annexed or any of its land claimed. We stand by our statements, and had in fact hoped that should Mexico be invaded it would not be by you. We know you did not instigate the conflict, but for a simple raid you conquered a nation, that to us is taking it too far. We urge you to withdraw, so we do not have to leave the Tehran Pact. The decision rests with you.

To the International Community,

I, King Gustaf V of the United Kingdoms of Scandinavia hereby show full support to the United States of America, and it's decision to annex the troubled Mexico.

I believe that such a move will provide stability the the Mexican Peoples have desired, yet have not always recieved from their Government. This decision will undoubtedly provide the stability and security for those disadvantaged, and those who are wealthy have the possibility to see even better times ahead.

We support the United States of America, and hope that the rest of the Internatioanl Community sees the benefits stand out resoundingly apart from the disadvantages.

Yous Sincerely

Gustaf V

King of the United Kingdoms of Scandinavia,
