NESLife attempt #3

just noticed - when your mouse is two years younger than a player, time for a new one.

Spoiler :
Dolosyte: Lord_Iggy
Evolved from: Venatoryte
Genes (20): Crawling x2, Eating Dead Things x1, Plant Eating x1, Complex Stomach x1, Exoskeleton x1, Communal Behaviour x1, Claws x3, Water Retention x2, Lungs x2, Cold Resistance x1, Eyes x1, Walking x1, Flesh Eating x2, Brain Power x1
Description: The Dolosytes, descendants of the deadly Venatorytes, have not improved their weaponry like their Neke cousins, but have improved other, less immediately obvious areas. Millions of years of hunting has been gradually improving their intelligence, though it is only now, around the end of the Spitezepodic Era, that their brain power has begun to leap upwards. Additionally, further specialization towards carnivorous behaviour has increased the amount of energy at the Dolosytes' disposal. While much of this is taken up by the brain, the excess is used to improve the growth rate and energy level of the species. Finally, increased levels of water retention have allowed the predators to move into the drier and harsher habitats of the Ferns and Zeeboos, monopolizing on all of the potential prey.

Evolves to...

Viparix : Lord_Iggy
Evolved from: Dolosyte
Gene added (max 2+1): Live Young, Pack Hunter, Smelling
Gene removed (optional, max 2):
Description (optional): This branch of the Family Venatorixidae has continued to become more and more social. The most major change is that instead of laying a small clutch of water-dependent eggs, young are now incubated inside the bodies of adult Viparices. The animals have become more intelligent hunters, devising numerous strategies and passing them on from generation to generation. Finally, Viparices have evolved chemical-detection organs inside the air passages on their backs, with a second system on the face for directional scent detection.

*****

Following a grueling xenobiological conference, it has been decided that the predatory descendants of the Venatoryte have differentiated from the other Scuterids enough to warrant a new taxonomical classification- Venatoriskidae. This has been celebrated by the creation of a new suffix. What is to be done with the arboreal Scensurytes and Clepsurytes is still being debated.

Great Update Daft, also i give permission for anyone to evolve from any of my creatures.
Now down to business.

Quintupler: C&Cciv3
Evolved from: Armed Quadrupler
Genes (19): Crawling x2, Plant Eating x2, Flesh Eating x2, Complex Stomach x2, Claws x3, Cold Resistance x1, Communal Behaviour x2, Brain Power x2, Eyes x1 Skeleton x1, Tough Skin x1
Description: Sometimes the little changes which you can't see can have big effect on a specie. The Quintupler improve digestive system means they search food less often to the relief to plants and animals alike on the shallow sea floor.

Become

Land Quintupler: C&Cciv3

Evolved from: Quintupler
New Genes: Water Retention +2
Genes Lost:
Description: As time went on the Quintupler's tough skin started to retain water, allowing Quintupler to survive out side of water. This allows the Quintupler to access new food sources and leave behind their old enemies the Hunters but they now face new dangers. Now only time will tell if the Quintupler can survive on land with it new dangers?

Well, Lord Iggy's classification system is a great Idea, so I will make one myself... ;)

Classifcation of Jubblerus Poisospitta:

Kingdom: Animalia

Phylum: Dibbleria

Class: Dibbleria Splime
Basically, this Order includes anything originating from the Dibbler-Ice, a slightly adjusted form of the ancient Dibbler. Dibbler MkII is also argued to be a part of this class.

Order: Zibblerus
This is the grouping of all species descended from and including the Dibbler-Revolution, the basic land-form of the ancient Dibbler. It includes the families Zibblerus Terra (Land Zibblers), and Jubblerus (Airborne Zibblers).

Family: Jubblerus
This is the family of species which descend from the Jumping Zibbler, a gliding descendant of the Zibbler-21. Members: Jumping Zibbler (Extinct), Jubblerus Maximus, Jubblerus Respiratus (Extinct), Jubblerus Poisospitta.

Genus: Jubblerus (II)
The Jubblerus (II) Genus is the portion of the Jubblerus family which descends from the Jubblerus Respiratus. This portion is separated from earlier Jubbleri due to the addition of respiration. Members: Jubblerus Respiratus (Extinct), Jubblerus Poisospitta.

Species: Jubblerus Poisospitta

Okay, that honestly looks too fun to not do, despite the ripoff:

Kingdom: Animalia

Phylum: Blobsterum
This phylum includes nearly every chordate on the planet, and thus almost every swimming creature as well. It can be traced back to a common ancestor known as the Blobster, which then split into two evolutionary paths. Despite this very early split, convergent evolution seems to have adapted both lines in similar ways.

Class: Vertebrata
Containing over 80% of the species in Blobsterum, Vertebrata includes all creatures with a developed backbone and cephalization.

Order: Wavus
Again, nearly 80% of the species in Blobsterum, and over 90% of the species in Vertebrata belong to this Order, which includes all creatures descended from the nearly mythic Wavy and Slithery.

Family: Simplacephalus
A group of fish-like creatures with a highly developed central nervous system, centralized in the anterior portion of the body. Primarily composed of hunters, most species in this family have developed social structures as well. Descended primarily from the more simplistic creatures that survived the mass extinction.

Genus: Terravalus
A very fierce animal group, it includes mostly land-based ambush predators.

Species: Sandavalion
The most developed chordate on land to date, it is the primary competitor to the dominant dibblerus phylum.

Thanks for the feedback...

I like these classifications, hope its ok if these names start appearing in the updates :)

Hey Daft, if I wanted me pyecies to start walking and not crawling, what gene should I get?

You could add 'walking' gene which some species already use. You don't have to remove any 'crawling', though it might help to steamline things later.

North King said:
Well, some large things aren't predators; in fact, usually the largest animals are the prey

I accept your point about that!

Splime said:
Damn, again my species get no mention...

Yes apologies for that. Theres so much i could ramble on about... recently ive been trying to keep the updates short, and only mention the extremes IE things that thrive or head for extinction.

And thanks very much for the charts, yet again! The server has been kind to me, im able to see all of you recent work now.

Splime said:
Uh, Daft, whatever happened to the Cold Shallows, or the Cold Land?

Well they are still there, but i didnt think they were relevant enough to be shown on their own, for the time being. Its like the warmer versions, but with a few less species, and one or two specialists, none of which are new.

Lord Iggy said:
I would vastly prefer having them on the forum, as my future school's firewall will make it hell to download attachments.

Hmm, well maybe following the next update i could reserve a load of posts there, and link them back to the first page... getting messy tho! :(

Lord Iggy said:
Seconded. Delta Panzerus IS really quite a sheltered planet. Must have a lot of big gas giants in far orbits.

Disasters could still happen at any time, but i wont let people request them!

Lord Iggy said:
@Daft- I look forward to the update, and mourn the loss of your venerable mouse, though I knew it not.

Making a big deal about a USB cord from your mouse also indicates just how old your old one was... :p

Never mind that, I think I can get the download now... though if you start a new thread sometime, maybe you can reserve a lot of posts at the beginning.

Lurker's Comment: Daft, you might not let players request disasters, but what about lurkers requesting them?

Let's say... The Super-volcano Alexius Pandarus blowing up and covering up large portions of Delta Panzerus ;) I mean, you gave erez an asteroid, I don't want much; just a Super-volcano :mischief:

Finner Stalker (Finnerus ReptillusNes Lunde Stalkus):Charles Li
Evolved from: finner Crawler
Gene added : Walkingx1 Flesheatingx1
Genes (14): Skeleton x1, Jaws x1, Plant Eating x3, Swimming x2, Eyes x1, Gills x1, Water Retention x2, Crawlingx2,Walkingx1, Lungs x2 Flesheatingx1
Description : The new generation of Finner Crawler developed straightened legs and a desire to eat some flesh, either recientally dead or freshly killed. More adapt a crawlng than walking and running, it crawls arround plants and eats them, but if a weakened animal wanders by, or if a hunt brought a dead prey into the vinicy of a group of Stalkers, (They Group together near best eats but with no direct communication) The almost fully camaflaged amphibians will stalk closer, leapat the prey, take a bite and leaps off (Because if you think, an animal can leap and a walker with bended llegs can leap a little X.1 better). It will trigger all for oneself attack of the prey by the unsocial stalkers, slowly picking the meal clean!

I am not sure if i want walking, and leaping as a abiliy or just leaping.... I want Your opinion Daft! Walking? with leap ability? or leaping?

Kingdom- Animalia
This group contains all Dibblers, Blobsters, Suckys, Nitros, Finners, Worms, Bathyscapers, Yuckius, Omi, Garbage-Eaters, and Planktonus.

Order- Finners
Original path of the SkeloSpikes That Evoled to be the among the second fastest Fish-like creatures of the sea

Family- Finnus Landus
Species that took a slight liking to land and had begun to colonize there
Genus- Finnus Reptillius
Finners Showing extreme liking to land and adaption to it.
In cluding Crawling and Stalking Finner
Species-Finnus Reptillus lando-Stalkus
Lates member of the Finnus Reptillus Genus, better known as the Stalkin Finner

You could at least do the courtesy of actually reading and understanding what you copy-paste.

Actually Li I meant the class name to be Spikii and not SkeloSpikus. It sounds better...

The Ghostrex is something of a marsupial, it lays an egg in a pouch, which later hatches.

The Viparix gives birth to a group of young, each small enough to stand in the palm of your hand. A social system protects and feeds them until they have molted several times and grown to full size (around 70 cm long).

Pouches are kind of hard to work with exoskeletons, though you can feel free to evolve a marsupial arthropod from the Viparices.

Lurker's Comment: I can't wait for this to become a fresh start. :D

Meh, I bet you guys manage to kill off each other once you get to smart primates and stuff. I bet one of the species adopt some of the less intelligent ones as mounts, and boom - you have a fresh start going on. :D
