Apparently people go to the collosseum to look at a wall.

Mmmm. that would reduce the effect of the Colleseum a bit I think - only half effect perhaps...? That wall is creasting mayhem in more than just the collesem too - there's a skyscraper embedded in it, and a railway line that just collides with it.

You know what it's like with kings. They say they want something done and you have to obey. If he says he wants a 20 foot wall there you have to put a 20 foot wall there, no matter what else is trying to occupy the same space.

the two-city rule is definitely lifted if the tiles are on different land masses, i'm sure of that one.

here's my situation:
FutureNoRifles.jpg

my people might be viewed as odd i suppose. they're in the future era but they can't hold a rifle. why? because i'm ethopia and i want to be able to build/draft oromos with free Drill 1/2 for as long as i can. nobody's even close to thinking about starting a war with me so i've delayed and delayed it. edit: actually, i just realized ... i can even still build macemen :crazyeye:

now all i can research is mass media (hell no, we won't go lose our lovely apostolic palace!), plastics, and rifling. going for plastics now, after that it's rifles i guess. computers will be an option after plastics but that's another big :nono:, i'd lose AWat/UofS/Spiral.

as soon as i learn rifling, i'll be stuck with infantry, since i already know assembly line. byebye free drill promos, hello more pop dying in a draft.

why do i need free Drill 1/2 promos if i'm so sure i can control the bad guys diplomatically? it's a game, i don't have to be logical about it *giggle*.

How is that possible? Future Tech requires Stealth which requires Composites which requires Plastics and Satellites (and Satellites require Rocketry which requires Rifling). So how can you enter Future era without Plastics and Rifling? Are you playing Next War epic game (I guess its techs are considered Future era techs)?

i'm in the future era, but i can't research future tech yet. it's the normal game, you just enter the future before you can research it ;). i think genetics is what i'd finished learning when the future era splash screen came up.

Era information must have been changed... In Vanilla, Future Techs were only techs in future era, maybe Genetics has been transformed to a future era tech, as well as possibly Fusion and the new Stealth tech.

ah, you're right. i checked the .xmls, vanilla and warlords future tech was the only one. BtS there are 3 others, the 3 you mentioned. i hadn't realized the era was so narrow. i'm guessing my situation won't come up a heck of a lot *giggle*

Well it's no wonder they're standing to eat...

We all know Monty is a bad boy, but on this small map he managed to upset (and be very upset by) absolutely everyone...

I'll never tire of these. Anyone out there know and understand what contoritons the program goes through to decide which tiles to shade as influenced by culture. In this one there wasn't even a recent city capture to confuse it...

culture has a really hard time swimming, that's for sure.

I can only suppose the water on that smaller island is very special. (Fountain of Youth, anyone? :goodjob: )

Yeah! I've seen that before, but never in any of my games.
