Orders incoming now.

If I accidently mention canada, forgive me, I am writing two order sets at once, and just caught myself doing that in fact.

I have plans jumbled around in my head from that, and this, and so they might get confused. I will make sure to edit it a few times to prevent that though.

Orders in :)

Getting a story in before the update, apologies to those who thought this was the update.

A worker who was offered the job of rebuilding London after losing his job following the depression sat back and enjoyed the show as prominent dignitaries and leaders of UCS shook hands and introduced themselves to each other. The worker was filled with patriotism and pride in the fact that he along with thousands of other workers rebuilt London from the ground up in such a short time, he beamed as the King walked up and thanked the workers for their dedication towards London and India. He was filled with even more pride when the King ordered that the capital move back to London. At that point, Big Ben tolled for the first time in years. Commonwealth residents cheered until they became hoarse, then waltzed to the local bars to quench their thirst and cheered some more. Parties were held everywhere, the most important one being held at Buckingham Palace where the King and Queen welcomed everyone, even the poor to the palace for dinner.

As day broke over England, Commonwealth residents were shocked to learn that Wales has requested to join the UCS, they turned down UCS' previous offer. They partied again, some even began to dream of a 2nd British Empire, the King has announced that all work and school will be closed today celebrating the relocation of the capital to London and the acceptance of Wales into the Union. It will be forever known as Patriot Day. Big Ben tolled again, before being tuned to toll at hour intervals.

Collecting orders now; update will likely be posted at around 5 or 6 PM.

sweetness :)

Global News Report

BOOM ALONG THE ATLANTIC. New York, United States of America. After a couple years of lowered tariffs, increased employment and heightened production, the Atlantic Treaty Organization has caused a major economic boom among its members. Particularly with American manufactured goods once more pushing out other competitors from South America, the New York Stock Exchange has actually surpassed pre-Depression ratings for many corporations. For ATO, the Depression is over. However, not all profited as much as the United States from the increased trade. Italy, as part of domestic programs, has forced out many foreign businesses with an initiative to make the empire self-sufficient and locally productive. Though this has been a successful move to instill ever more popularity and power to Mussolini’s regime, this has caused Italy to “miss out” on the ATO boom. Newer members such as Hungary and Scandinavia also prospered less due to less time for reopening trade, though economists in both nations believe this is a circumstance which will soon change. As another effect of ATO, many Argentine businesses have been pushed out of European markets in favor of more inter-Europe and North American trade. North/Central American News Report

LINDBERGH’S 100 DAYS. Washington D.C., United States of America. The first 100 days of Lindbergh’s Presidency in 1932 and 1933 were marked with extensive bills being introduced to legislature. These bills have all gone into effect as of January 1934, and the first among this is the emptying of the American prison system into the Convict Conservation Corps, an organization to help build up the American infrastructure. Other infrastructure organizations have also been established, and the crowning achievement of Lindbergh legislation is the announcement of a railroad to span from Texas to the Panama Canal. Extensive progress has already been done throughout most of Texas and Mexico, but American ambassadors have been problems with Honduras which has so far refused access to the American engineers. Many of these programs have so far suffered from a lack of spending, but some of this was compensated for by private donations to helping these programs get underway, helping ease the financial strain significantly. (+1 Public Spending; -5% Dissent; you may want to put more money into public spending to make your programs more successful)

NEW CANAL ANNOUNCED. Managua, Nicaragua. In a massive economic project, the king of Nicaragua has announced a new canal to connect Lake Nicaragua to the Pacific Ocean. Some more ambitious councilors have also suggested making a full canal from the Pacific to the Atlantic. The new canal has been scheduled for completion in the summer of 1936. Major railroad projects have also been announced to help connect the Nicarguan nation and open up new ties with Honduras

European News Report

SERBIAN REGIME CHANGE. Belgrade, Serbia. After struggling on for several months in late 1933, King Alexander of Serbia passed away after a stroke in March 1934. His son Peter was coronated in an elaborate ceremony and has been proclaimed King Peter II. The new king has vowed to continue Serbia’s growth for power and has promised an unified Balkan state led by the Serbs. Many observers cite these statements as reasoning for Serbian intervention in the Romanian Civil War.

SCANDINAVIA ANNOUNCES MAJOR REFORM. Stockholm, Scandinavia. The government of Scandinavia has passed extensive legislation reforming several aspects of the nation. Prime among these reforms is the introduction of free health care for all citizens of the nation, the first major program in the world to do so. Following this a drastic reformation of the educational system, which began with the start of the first semester in February 1934. The prime economic part of the reform is the development of the Scandinavian port system, including extensive dredging and expansion of harbors. The government has taken fire for not providing enough funding for the programs and many have called for either a scaling back of programs or a rise in taxes to pay for everything. (you need more Public Spending to pull this off)

CRISIS IN HELSINKI. Helsinki, Scandinavia. Several Soviet nationals were arrested and convicted for shipment of newly illegal drugs into Finland. Many in Parliament have denounced this, blaming the Soviet government for attempting to subdue the Scandinavian people through “drug warfare”. All of the Soviet citizens were convicted and sent to prison for twenty-five years. The Soviet ambassador in Germany has denounced the Scandinavian actions and has called for “retaliation for the proletariat unjustly commited by Stockholm.”

WALES JOINS UCS. Cardiff, Union of Commonwealth States. With great fanfare the Welsh have sent their first representative to the Union of Commonwealth States Parliament, and have been officially welcomed to the Union. Though met by minor opposition among Welsh nationalists and anti-communists throughout the rest of the Union, overall this has been greeted with much exuberance. (+2% Dissent)

WAR ENDS IN POLAND. Lodz, Poland. German and Soviets at the Treaty of Lodz agreed to divide Poland in early 1934. Using Warsaw as a marking point to divide the country, Poland was divided into Soviet and German zones. German authorities, not recognizing a communist regime, have established a new Poland, known as the Lodz Republic. The new Poland is a democratic state, in which the communist Party has been illegalized. Thanks to German support, the Kaiser has approved of the cessation of Slovakia to Hungary, which has long claimed the region. In eastern Poland, the region has been directly annexed by the USSR. Most of the Polish army, shocked at the betrayal have dispersed amongst the Soviet countryside, and sabotage has reached an extreme level throughout most of the European SSRs. Reports have come from the Soviet Union of massive atrocities against the Polish population, and refugees into Germany have claimed tens of thousands of deaths at the hands of the communists. (+5% Dissent for USSR)

ROMANIAN CIVIL WAR ENDS. Bucharest, Romania. Despite the appearances of communist victory by September of 1934, the republican Romanians have won the brutal civil war. Overwhelming numbers of Hungarian, German, Italian, and Serbian soldiers poured into the nation, easily smashing the communists, who never stood a chance. Casualties were minimal for the Allies, who used bombers and air power to smash Romanian formations. Despite the victory, much dispute has emerged, particularly as Hungarian officials began demanding Transylvania from Romania. Romanian government officials agreed under German pressure to cede the territory to the Hungarian regime. Hungary has at last been restored to 1922 borders.

Diplomatic Pouch

To: ATO
From: Romania

We would like to apply for admittance into your alliance to forestall Soviet aggression.

To: Soviet Union
From People’s Republic of China

We have decided to longer contribute to an united technological fund for the Comintern. We believe you have betrayed our Polish communist brethren for the sake of nationalist gains. You have fallen from the Marxist principles which make our nations great.

OOC

Early Tank, Tank Turrets, and Motorization of Infantry have been removed as a researchable technology. No one from this point will receive military quality if they have failed to research it. This does not count for anyone who received them this turn. This does mean that Motorized Divisions and Armored Divisions are buildable to all nations.

Scout Aircraft and Biplane Squadrons have also been removed.

@germanicus12 and Vanguard, with your joining ATO you received a large amount of tech; some of your orders were nullified due to this, including tech trades and production orders; and Vanguard that is why you have 2 Fighter Squadrons

@Jacobite, bombers are 2 for 1 IC for you now; as are fighters; you have modern production, remember?

@Terris, you don’t have to worry about doing research on the one thing; just say that your divisions already have some of them; they aren’t really that important and in the real WW2 were often discredited as being near useless (i.e. Italian and Japanese ones)

@South American players: blenderboy confirm any trades, so trades with them are void; Lightfang, this means no carrier, so I gave you another capital ship; blenderboy, you have to confirm deals like that in your orders

Information on military use rockets will be added to the front post within the next 24 hours.

Nipponese elections will be updated as soon as possible. @Shadowbound, please resend your orders if you can, I’m sorry to say I lost them in the process of updating.

Yes! M.... I think I should start doing a project.... When will my AAK(Amerian Accord Korps) help out the war torn areas?

Great Update, well done!!!

Mine can make Sushi.

Why is it that after eight years of 4 IC in Public Spending, and constant work at improving my economy for the last three, that I have not seen a single new IC?
