ELECTIONS IN BOLIVIA. Sucre, Bolivia. With American and Chilean soldiers pushing into the heart of Bolivia, elections have been chaotic. Overwhelming votes have brought forth an extensive switch in Bolivian politics. The new coalition of separatist Conservatives and Fascists have formed a Progressive Party along the lines of Brazil and the United States. The new regime has won on a police platform and has joined Peru and Ecuador in unconditional surrender to the Atlantic Treaty Organization. (sorry Charles Li, your people don’t want you anymore; you can rejoin after the conclusion of the war)

SOVIETS UNDERTAKE FINAL SOLUTION. Moscow, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Millions of Poles, Germans, and Romanians have been killed or rounded up by Soviet military and domestic forces throughout occupied Europe. Reports of an incredible death rate have emerged from the trains and scattered reports from Siberia claim that the Soviets have created death camps for “capitalist reactionaries” as well as work camps. This has been met with violent resistance throughout the occupied regions as Poles and Germans rise up against the occupiers, inflicting heavy casualties on the Soviet occupation forces. Neutral governments from across the globe have condemned Soviet actions. Domestically, the massive extension of work camps has boosted Soviet production even further for wartime purposes, allowing production of even more weapons for the pursuit of the war. (+2 Military Spending for USSR)

NORTH CHINA ANNOUNCES REFORM. Beijing, People’s Republic of China. As war escalates across the world, the People’s Republic has announced a Four Year Plan based on the Soviet model. The communist plan is to develop the military spending and development of the Chinese military apparatus. The use of military transport aircraft for civilian transport purposes has also been a popular act by the government. However, a lack of spending for public purposes has prevented the Plan from achieving full potential in its execution.

VENEZUELA. An influx of American troops have brought the United States Army on the offensive once more in Venezuela. However, the use of a tunnel system developed several years prior to the war has enabled the Venezuelan army to wreak havoc within American lines. Casualties have been harsh for the American army though territorial gains have been made to a lesser extent than achieved in the first year of the war.
Casualty List
Venezuela: 4 Infantry Divisions
USA: 7 Infantry Divisions
PERU/BOLIVIA. American and German forces have easily shattered American Accord lines within Peru and have continued a mobile advance into Bolivia itself. The embattled remnants of the militaries of Ecuador and Peru have fled into Bolivia to continue the fight. Combined with a Chilean offensive from the south and a Brazilian offensive from the east, the Bolivian people have elected the Progressive Party into power. The new regime has offered its unconditional surrender to ATO and the governments of Peru and Ecuador have followed suit.
Casualty List
Bolivia: 5 Conscript Divisions, 4 Infantry Divisions, 1 Rocket Squadron
Peru: 5 Infantry Divisions, 1 Jet Fighter Squadron
Ecuador: 2 Infantry Divisions, 1 Jet Fighter Squadron
Chile: 1 Infantry Division
USA: 4 Infantry Divisions, 1 Cavalry Division, 1 Motorized Division, 1 Jet Fighter Squadron

BRAZIL. The Liberal Brazilian government has ceded power to the Progressives after the military refused to fight any more against the rebellion. The military has thrown in its support to the rebels’ government, and the Liberals have lost all authority. Brazil’s new government has offered its full support to ATO and has promised to support retribution against the culprits of the Congressional Massacre. To this end, the new regime has launched invasions of both Bolivia and Argentina. They have won limited successes in northern Argentina, particularly due to the lack of any Argentine air cover or significant troop formations in the region.
Casualty List
Argentina: 1 Conscript Division
Brazil: 1 Infantry Division
CHILE. Thanks to a convenient earthquake, Chilean forces have launched a major counterattack against Argentine forces throughout Chile proper. The Argentines have been swept out of most of Chile following both ATO air power over the area and refocusing of forces to the front outside of Buenos Aires. Some advance Chilean forces have also seized control of the islands formerly occupied by the Argentines at the end of the 3rd Pacific War. Casualties have been relatively minor due to sparse contribution of forces by both sides.
Casualty List
Argentina: 1 Conscript Division
Chile: 1 Infantry Division
ARGENTINA. South African and Argentine forces have continued to clash inside and around the capitol of Argentina as Buenos Aires has become the focus of the front lines. Fighting has devolved to house by house combat as Argentina struggles to maintain control of the area. South African superiority in tanks has been nullified by Argentine air power which holds supreme in the region. Casualties have been harsh for ATO military forces while the American Accord gives its last gasps of military strength.
Casualty List
Argentina: 4 Conscript Divisions, 3 Militia Divisions, 3 Infantry Divisions, 3 Fighter Squadrons
South Africa: 10 Infantry Divisions, 1 Motorized Division, 1 Armored Division, 4 Fighter Squadrons
ATLANTIC OCEAN. Fighting in the Atlantic Ocean has reached a peak as American Accord submarines continue to strike at ATO shipping throughout both the North and South Atlantic Ocean. Submarine attacks have been even more organized than in previous years, as significant amounts of shipping between the United States and the fronts in Europe have been sunk. Other shipping between South Africa and the front in Argentina have been assaulted by the Accord vessels. The American Accord reached its greatest success yet when both an American battleship and a light carrier were sunk off the coast of Jamaica by a group of Venezuelan submarines. Despite the successes of the Accord, heavy casualties have been inflicted by the ATO escorts and the tide has definitely turned in favor of the convoys’ defenders rather than attackers.
Casualty List
Argentina: 1 Destroyer Group, 3 Wolfpacks
Venezuela: 2 Wolfpacks
Liberia: 1 Destroyer Group
USA: 1 Capital Ship, 1 Light Carrier, 3 Destroyer Groups
SCANDINAVIA. Soviet forces have reversed their defeats of the previous year in Scandinavia following the destruction of the Irish army at Trotskygrad. Overwhelming Soviet forces have poured into Finland and have only been halted along the rivers and mountain of the former Swedish/Russian border. Several Scandinavian divisions were also surrounded and destroyed at Helsinki. The Soviets have managed to gain full control of the air and have devastated ATO attempts to control the skies in the region.
Casualty List
USSR: 7 Infantry Divisions, 1 Jet Fighter Squadron
Scandinavia: 9 Infantry Divisions, 2 Fighter Squadrons
TROTSKYGRAD. The Soviet city of Trotskygrad has devoured another ATO army after Irish forces launched a desperate and foolish offensive to devastate the Soviet infrastructure. A daringly designed attack, the Irish planned to live off the land and slash apart Soviet infrastructure from Finland to Greece. However, mere days after breaking the front, the Irish found themselves strapped and under constant air and artillery bombardment by massive Soviet reserve armies in Trotskygrad. A lack of fuel for the armor also brought the advance to a halt. The Irish army was totally and completely destroyed to the dismay of Eire’s people. Those who surrendered are believed to have been some of the first victims in the death camps in western Siberia. There are no survivors.
Casualty List
USSR: 4 Infantry Divisions, 1 Jet Squadron, 1 Rocket Squadron
Eire: 5 Infantry Divisions, 1 Cavalry Division, 2 Motorized Divisions, 4 Armored Divisions
LOW COUNTRIES/GERMANY. ATO forces, desperate and barely holding, managed to push the Soviet forces back throughout the course of 1939. The mass arrival of ATO troops on the front and the fresh recruitment of Dutch and Belgian forces has managed to at first halt the Soviet advance and then even push back to parts of the Elbe River and along the Rhine. Support from the German Resistance has significantly aided the ATO advance as has overwhelming armored superiority. German recognition of Eisenhower’s command in the region of forces in the Low Countries has also enabled the ATO defeat of the Bourbons in Belgium and northern France. Only the arrival of fresh Bourbon troops have prevented further advances around Paris. Along the Danube River, the Germans easily held minor Soviet attempts to cross the river and some of the front was shortened with ATO advances in the west. However, this was countered by another failed German amphibious assault behind Soviet lines in East Prussia. Soviet reserves were well prepared to slaughter the Marines on the beaches. In the skies, the fighting remains contested as neither side has managed to achieve full air superiority.
Casualty List
USSR: 12 Infantry Divisions, 1 Armored Division, 3 Jet Fighter Squadrons, 2 Bomber Squadrons, 1 Rocket Squadron
Bourbon Empire: 3 Infantry Divisions, 1 Fighter Squadron
Germany: 4 Militia Divisions, 2 Infantry Divisions, 2 Armored Divisions, 3 Marine Divisions, 2 Fighter Squadrons, 1 Bomber Squadron

USA: 1 Infantry Division, 2 Jet Fighter Squadrons
Scandinavia: 2 Infantry Divisions
Scotland: 1 Airborne Division

BUDAPEST. Soviets forces renewed their attempts to capture Budapest as forces crossed pontoon bridges into Budapest. The city has once more been the seen of heavy fighting as German, Serbian, and Dutch forces reinforced the desperate Hungarian defense. Overwhelming numbers on behalf of ATO and early inactivity along the Islamic front sealed the fate for the Soviet attack. Greek assistance in the air has helped the ComIntern to gain air superiority over the city, but this has proven insufficient to win the battle.
Casualty List
USSR: 6 Infantry Divisions, 1 Armored Division
Greece: 1 Fighter Squadron, 1 Jet Fighter Squadron
Serbia: 1 Infantry Division
Hungary: 2 Infantry Divisions
Switzerland: 1 Infantry Division
BALKANS. In the greatest rapid feat of military construction in history, Italian military engineers built a series of concrete fortifications along the front lines with the Islamic army. Muslim forces, delayed by a lack of direct orders for a good part of the year, launched a belated assault on the barely completed forts. Casualties were light in the fighting as the Muslims withdrew after the initial attack was repulsed. In the air the Muslims retained superiority using overwhelming numbers against the Italian air force.
Casualty List
Dar-al-Islam: 2 Infantry Divisions, 1 Jet Fighter Squadron
Bosnia: 1 Infantry Division, 1 Jet Fighter Squadron
Albania: 1 Infantry Division
Turkey: 1 Infantry Division
Italy: 1 Infantry Division, 1 Mountain Division, 3 Jet Fighter Squadrons
MEDITERANEAN SEA. Islamic and ATO forces have continued to clash throughout the Mediterranean Sea. Turkish and Albanian submarines have struck against Italian supply shipping from the mainland to the fronts in Libya. Italian naval forces have managed to barely keep the wolfpacks at bay, and their attempts have been assisted by the arrival of an American fleet and destroyers. In the process of reinforcing the Italians, the Americans broke the remnants of the Bourbon armada in a major fight at Gibralter. In the air, massive combat has taken place over the Adriatic Sea between Greek and Italian aircraft as both sides fight for superiority in the region. So far an obvious winner has not been apparent.
Casualty List
Greece: 3 Jet Fighter Squadrons
Turkey: 2 Wolfpacks
Albania: 3 Wolfpacks
Bourbon Empire: 1 Capital Ship, 1 Light Carrier, 3 Cruiser Groups, 4 Destroyer Groups
Italy: 1 Cruiser Group, 2 Destroyer Groups, 3 Jet Fighter Squadrons

NORTH AFRICA. American forces have at last landed en masse in an Old World theater of operations in the Third World War. The American army under Patton, who was recently transferred from Peru, launched Operation Torch against Bourbon positions in North Africa. Combined with an Italian offensive from the east, the Bourbon army in North Africa has been bloodily defeated after a year’s combat. Following the great victory over the Bourbons, the American air force began a major strategic bombing campaign against Iberian cities and industry. Already cities like Seville and Madrid have been pounded by American bombers, which have also done major damage to railroads and infrastructure. To the west, Islamic and Italian forces continue to remain stalemated at El Alamein where casualties continue to be minimal as the fighting devolves to stagnant trench warfare.
Casualty List
Bourbon Empire: 6 Infantry Divisions, 2 Armored Divisions, 4 Fighter Squadrons
USA: 2 Motorized Divisions, 1 Armored Division, 2 Jet Fighter Squadrons, 2 Bomber Squadrons
Italy: 2 Infantry Divisions
SUDAN. Islamic forces have handed a series of defeats to Abyssinian forces throughout Sudan, taking control of more territory and advancing through the formerly Italian lands. Casualties have been heavy for the Abyssinians as counterattacks fail amongst major Islamic offensives. In the air Dar-al-Islam has devastated any attempt by the Abyssinians to give air support to their ground forces.
Casualty List
Dar-al-Islam: 3 Infantry Divisions
Abyssinia: 6 Infantry Divisions, 1 Armored Division, 1 Fighter Squadron
INDIAN OCEAN. Persian submarines have swarmed into the Indian Ocean, overwhelming ATO attempts to ship supplies across that body of water. Both the UCS and Abyssinia have failed to halt the progress of the submarines and mass tonnage of ships have been sent to the bottom of the ocean. The loss of supplies has not yet been felt, though generals believe that if the sinkings continue, UCS’ India could soon be cut off from continued supplies from the United States and England or Australia.
Casualty List
Persia: 1 Wolfpack, 1 Destroyer Group
UCS: 1 Destroyer Group
Abyssinia: 1 Destroyer Group, 1 Wolfpack
INDIA. Stalemate has ensued in India. UCS forces have successfully managed to halt the advance of Brotherhood forces all across the board in India. In some regions counterattacks have even forced the Persians and Afghans back. Casualties have been harsh for the Brotherhood’s armies as they run into major Commonwealth defensive positions. In the skies, the Commonwealth has gained air superiority, another cause of the Brotherhood’s halt.
Casualty List
Persia: 4 Infantry Divisions, 1 Jet Fighter Squadron, 1 Bomber Squadron
Afghanistan: 5 Infantry Divisions, 2 Fighter Squadrons
Turkestan: 3 Infantry Divisions, 2 Jet Fighter Squadrons, 1 Bomber Squadron
Sinkiang: 2 Infantry Divisions
