Virote's Ancient Greek Scenario

So their won't be any :( Mythological Civs or Units in the Scenario?

Civs, not in the main scenario

Units will be in. I haven't put any units on the map yet, but I do have in Satyrs, Amazons, Sparti, Kouretes, Keres, Cyclopses and more mythological units already produced by religious-based improvements!

If you want help with history, civs or myth creatures(not graphics)I can help you.
I'm from Greece.

I also can help with History/Mythology, I like and study both those Subjects. In fact I have a suggestion on Mythology at :) this moment.

If you plan to add unit representing units from Greek Mythology, maybe be you could add some for the other Civ's in the Scenario.
The Egyptians for example could for example get the Roc, Phoenix, Sphinx, Giant Cobra, the Giant Scarab Beetle, or a host of other being from their Mythology.
The Celt have a Rich Mythological background, although some of their Monster weird even be Myth Standards.
They could get Giant Ant's, Black Men (Not Humans, but 8 foot tall dark skinned Giants), Giant Boar's, and the Terrifying Venomous :eek: Sheep!!

Thanks, guys! I'm sure your help will be needed! :)

@Redwall: Yeah, I was gonna try and add units for other cultures, too. Thanks for the ideas!

Thanks :) Virote, I'll try to dig up some more interesting Mytholgical Units for Persia, Scythia, and the rest of them.

Thanks!

Also, if you can, could you try to dig up some possible Hero units for those guys, too. Currently, I only have Arash down.

Monster-wise, I have the Homa and Huma for the Persians (if you can call them monsters ;))

The Arabian Civ can can get a Djinni unit, it is originally from their mythology.

Persian mythology has the Daēva (Damons/Angels).
The adherants of the pre-Zoroastrian form of Mazdaism considered the daēva holy and sacred, but after the religious reforms of Zoroaster the term daēva became associated with demons. Even then the Persians living south of the Caspian Sea continued to worship the daeva and resisted pressure to accept Zoroastrianism, and legends that involve daēva survive to this day. For instance, that of the legend of the Div-e Sepid (white daēva) of Mazandaran

Many animals and birds appear in Iranian mythology, and especially the birds were signs of good omen. Most famous of these is Simorgh, a large beautiful and powerful bird, Homa, a royal bird of victory whose plume adorned the crowns and Samandar, the phoenix. The snake like in many other Oriental mythologies was a symbol of evil.

The Griffin also originated somewhere in the Middle East where it is found in the paintings and sculptures of the ancient Babylonians, Assyrians and Persians.

Indians had centaurs. If any one needs proof I can post a temple relief. There's also a naga unit already floating around that would do very well.

That way we don't have to ask anyone to make a three-headed, multi-armed blood-drinking demon. :mischief:

@Redwall: Yes, and yes!

@Blue: I'm sure some day, someone will make a three-headed, multi-armed, blood-sucking deamon! I mean, what a cool sounding unit! Who could pass it up? Also, thanks for the suggestions!

The Babylonians had a legend about a Great Dragon named Tiamat, Other well known Monsters included the Evil Giant Humbaba, and
the Magical Bull of Heaven.

The Greatest Hero of Hindu mythology was Prince Rama.
The Rama went on a quest for his wife, the beautiful Princess Sita, who had been stolen by the Evil Demon King Ravana. After many adventures Rame rescued her, and with some help from the Monkey King and his people destroyed Ravanas army of Rakshasha's (demons).

Rama is great, & quite popular. I believe he's superceded in both categories by a later avatar of Vishnu - Krishna. I think Virote's looking for a mythological unit, of which many would exist concurrently, rather than a King or Great leader. You're right that one of Hanuman's monkey warriors would be suitable. I'd certainly like to see such a unit made. The ones I suggested are already made* - trying to save him some time & effort. Especially if the Indians could share a unit with another civ, freeing another slot.;)
