G-Minor 49

Nice :D
Anyway i won't get that far yet.... Well, i succeeded whiping the americans @ 1000BC, and was together with gandi on the top i almost got libaralism (first) and military tradition was next. Had stables, forges, barracks and pretty nice production everywhere. But then issabel suddenly attacked my outpost with horses... the only horses i got... lol i saved... but i think it's hopeless now... again :D

Issabel didn't want to trade the whole time until she didn't have anything left and wanted nationalism for 60 gold :S, after that a money tribute.... i should have given her the couple of gold coins... i had plenty... :S

But atleast it's the farthest i ever came on emperror :D

I finished mine, the score is not that great, only 134K. I played on Great Plains, and this particular map had extremely few crop resources, Cereal Mills added only 5 food. Besides, I got it very late. Mining Inc was much better, like +25 hammers. :)

Anyway, that was a fun game, with massive cavalry rushes, etc.

Here is the strategy I think works best for these settings:

Liz, goal of academy +1 scientist, 4-5 cities by 1000 BC, 100 beakers per turn
-Oracle Education (no meditation, bulb Paper); its about a 50/50 gambit at 750 BC or so
-research to Nationalism (and Music); take MT with Liberalism. It might be better to take a later tech with lib but using lib on it might mean the difference in fighting archers or fighting longbows...
-have at least 10 horse archers/chariots ready to upgrade at MT time
-kill everything with Curassiers and make Sushi

A couple of things that work well:

1) Devote all espionage to Mansa when you meet him. He often will go and get Code of Laws for you or Currency. Whatever he isnt researching, you should be, and if we gets stuck on Ironworking or some such, gift him when its available from other civs (for alphabet usually).
2) sell techs for dirt cheap to the eternally backward civs to keep research at 100%
3) Pottery->Alphabet->Math->Currency works well, trade for Priesthood and use the research bonus to go after CoL if Mansa isnt working that way. If you dont have anything to research go for Aesthetics->Lit if you have marble.
4) The most ideal starts IMO are FPs, with 1 6 food bonus and a number of forests, and a few happiness resources for your secondary cities.

Congrats to the winners and submitters. My first game was an unpreventable AP loss in 500 AD (!!) but 2nd game (at least 2nd game after 500 BC that Im happy with) goes well.

Why no submission from Lexad?
