FFH2 0.33 cosmetic issues

I've been away for a bit.
Must say I like the new Ancient Forest gfx & understand the probs that arose with it.
Also Im quite happy to see Cephalos mapscript imbedded & almost cant wait to see Marnoks Modmod being implemented aswell.
Regarding Cephalos mapscript or the nowcalled Erebus mapscript:
I hate to say it, but its unusable, due to the fact that the AI cant handle isolated areas & probably never really will!
During the time Cephalo was busy attending different matters a while ago, Hemiptera modified his mapscript to add different settings, like X/Y wrapping & the percentagebased option to flatten peaks into hills, allowing more chokepoints & mindering the chance for secluded areas.

I highly urge the devs to go with these options in the Erebus mapscript aswell,

Units with the Immortal promotion that are consumed by an ability (such as Found Temple) or, less fittingly, are deleted outright by the player spawn at the capital.

The respawn after found temple is a nifty bonus of having used Blood of the Pheonix. The respawning after deleting is intentional since you can just delete it a second time if you really want it dead, and for true immortal units it allows you to return home in a hurry.

Okay, makes sense. Well, not really - a priest founding a temple is 'consumed' presumably because he now leads the temple. He doesn't die, just changes jobs, becoming a citizen of the city.

I can understand the reason for it being left as is, though.

Parrots are labeled Hawks in several places.

The only bird in the entire game is Hawk. Just for Balseraph and Lanun it looks like a Parrot and for Sidar, Svartalfar and some others it looks like a raven. But all of them are just "hawk"

Unless you mean in a story writeup or something.

It should work with just the Assets/XML/Art/CIV4ArtDefines_Feature.xml file.

Possibly you would also need to grab the art for it out of the PAK though, precise path for the file is in the ArtDefines xml.

Someone want to upload that? I deleted all my older versions.

No, I just thought a Parrot ought to be called a Parrot. There are plenty of equivalent units with different names, so why not Parrots? Seems like they used to be.

We used to have a lot of equivalent units, but be don't really anymore.

Parrots, Ravens, and Hawks were different units before BtS, then they were all Hawks, and recently they've gone back to the old graphics but didn't have their name changed. I'd probably just call them "Birds" or something.

The landmark tags gets in the way if you found a city north of the spot, It would be nice to be able to delete it, like you can with your own tags.

When the elven cottages grow to towns, they remove all of the forest graphics, thus ruining the treehugger feel of the elves somewhat.

On the tags: I agree.

On the elven cottages/towns: I can't confirm that. My forest graphics all stay perfectly in place.

i can definetely confirm this. The same with farms.
Unfortunately this ruins the flavour of the elven civs.
But as i read in an other thread, it is extremely difficult to change this, so we have to accept it :(

"Civilization" is mis-spelled "civlization" in the following strategy text entries (English, Spanish, and Italian):

Arthendain
Bambur
Mardero
Rosier
Saverous

The Sidar could use some darkish looking archers. The regular archers stick out like sore thumbs compared to all other sidar units.

In this peasant's humble opinion.

after my improvements updated(i.e. towns changed to buildings)all my farms changed to blue squares. has anyone else seen this bug. when i looked at other civs improvements, half had the same problem. the color of the squares was the same as your culture boundry. i know its only a cosmetic issue but i find it very annoying.
