SGOTM 08 - Smurkz

I'm not sure how much that means; I believe in BTS you have to have a certain number of spy points with someone to be able to see their Demographics. And we only know two civs, anyway. But it probably does mean we're ahead of Shaka.

CommandoBob, good to see you! I also remember the glory days of Civ 3 Team Durkz/Smurkz, though I was a member of the Staff team and Team Tao, so I wasn't exactly rooting for you. :D Very glad to have you here.

I think I remember promising vacation pics a week or so ago? Expect them later today.

Pleased to meet you, CommandoBob! Hey, you write good.

The plan looks great. Yeah, probably run a cottage or two around Hari once it grows.

Heading off with the dogs now, will play once I get back.

Seems MSN stopped working all of a sudden. At any rate, I'm up to T98 and Alphabet is in - and it's looking good! Will edit in turnlog in a minute, and post a few pictures.

I'd take the trade. 60+200 for 250+100 isn't bad, and we find out where the iron is. The hill N of the stone would be a decent city site, at least in terms of food. Lots of sea tiles--good place for Moai? Looks like we're going to get our hammers' worth of exploration out of the frontier warrior--how far does this continent go?

Let's keep an eye on Shaka's settler and galley. I think that in BtS you can't see what's onboard ships. If it looks like he's headed toward our stone island should we close borders to stop (well, delay) him?

He would also do a trade Agri+Archery+IW for Alpha+Poly. I'm not sure we're really interested in Archery, hence why I didn't say it before. And we could likely easily pick it up whenever we like. I think we should do the Agri+IW for Maths+Poly trade too.

Do we gift any techs to Shaka to get him to Pleased? We could gift him Myst at least, maybe he'll research Meditation for us. He would trade techs with us at Pleased, not that he has anything reasonable to trade right now.

Agree on the Moai thing.

Shaka settling the stone is a scary thought. I should definitely keep a lookout for that. I didn't think he could reach the island without going through our borders, but it seems he can. So not much we could do about it if he does. :hmm:

There's a lot of land down south that seems a lot more settleable, wonder why Shaka doesn't go in that direction instead. We might want to consider settling there, though it would mean a two-front war with Shaka when we go to war.

Is it alright for me to conclude the trade and post back with iron locations? EDIT: x-post with Chris. That makes at least 3 of us. One more and I'll do it.

Trade, trade, trade, trade. :)

I made a Photobucket album with some vacation pictures. Let me know if you can see it or not. Oh, and somehow it wound up in reverse order -- oh well!

Edit: needs a password; see two comments down.

Ok, trade completed. Guess where the only Iron in sight is? :crazyeye:

Spoiler :
Under the fogbusting axe - rolo, another prediction come true.

Guess we know where Shaka's settler is headed.

Fixed the permission issue on the photobucket album; use password HawaiiVacation.

Just to make it official, I need a skip, please. Hopefully I'll get things fixed and be able to sneak into the rotation a bit later and not miss my turnset entirely.

Not finished yet, I'm still on T98 just after the trade. I'll complete my turns in a few minutes and upload at T100, hopefully with a Torch in hand.
