OOC: I'm not being mean, but flyingchicken did say meta-story conflict. I promise I'll do simliar or worse for Dalran, anyway...
EDIT NOTE: AndrewG, feel free to create a faction in my area to wreck havoc in my area if you like.
The West Wradyslaw- A Legacy
During the wars with the Po Republic, the West Wradyslaw were determined to win themselves land. A small faction advocated peace with the Po in exchange for citizenship, but the power of the Chiefs and the natural hostility of soldiers to the enemy prevented this.
In time, the Po Republic would beat back the enemy at the gates- chariot warriors would break through ever more rarely, and never do enough damage to justify the incursion. But this victory was not without price.
A West Wradyslaw state survived on the former lands of the Centi, who enemies of the Po knew could reliably fight on their side. Worse, the rising power of Taxana created an equal rival to the Po, willing to exploit this situation.

Taxana- OTL Urbino
The Conquests of Sakana
(OOC: Actually, I think I'm doing a bit too much on local affairs. I'll try to do equal to this story on other people-related ones, though)
Part 1: Gaining Intelligence
Sakana reached Dalran in 953 BC, with a force totalling 30,000 men. Believing that his people would never be safe as long as the "Dalranese race" survived, he was determined to wipe them all out to make the new homeland safe.
As he realised, he had two great weaknesses. First, he could not concentrate his armies in one place- he did not have the means to supply them with food. Second, once his people had conquered enough land to live on their resolve to continue would plummet, making further campaigns difficult. He also had little intelligence on the locals- he had to question conquered peoples for what information he had.
Guessing from his intelligence that there were two states (he mixed up Danion and New Dolensach), one stronger and one weaker, Sakana decided to invade Danion. His armies were divided into three forces of 10,000 men, which remained close to each other so he could take command of any one when required.
Unknown to him, the King of Ysora and the Viceroy of the Viceroyalty were considering the situation as an opportunity (the King of New Dolensach was fuming that they didn't even know he existed, but this was irrelevant). Whether or not, they reasoned, this barbarian won, they could seize much of Danion before he could react.
Obro, King of Danion, was not worried by the South Wradyslaw- he had an army of 100,000 men himself. But Ysora and the Viceroyalty together had 70,000 men- attacking at the same time as the barbarians, they represented a dire crisis.
At the battle of Dashan, Obro defeated both Ysora and the Viceroyalty at the cost of only half his army. Impressive as this victory seemed, it would later open Sakana's road to conquer all three Dalranese powers.
Meanwhile, Sakana had managed to recruit the services of Kratho, a diplomat who knew both South Wradyslaw and Dalranese languages. On his advice, Sakana issued a proclamation of full religious tolerance for the Northern culture, and promised to restore the North to them as their own. By this means, he managed to recruit a further 10,000 Northern warriors.
Names:
Obro- The King of Danion during the early part of the wars
Dashan- A city in Danion
Part 2: The Fall of Danion
i: To the Battle of Masein
King Obro was horrified at this turn of events- the barbarians, far from being a mere opportunity for his other enemies, now appeared as they were- a mortal threat even by themselves.
To counter this, the King marched northward, hoping for battle. By the time he reached the South Wradyslaw army, however, Danion itself had already fallen. He knew that if he lost this battle, all was lost...
At the battle of Danion, Obro was indeed victorious. Sakana lost half his army in battle, and had to withdraw to prevent the destruction of all it. It was believed that the threat was passed, and Obro even considered the possibility of conquering Ysora or Viceroyalty lands before they could recover.
Meanwhile, Sakana faced an internal challenge. Drusuli, one of his best generals up until now, argued that he was a failure as a leader. Sakana countered this by challenging him to a duel. Victorious in it, he removed the primary challenger. He was safe, for now.
As Obro marched north, he expected to be able to destroy the barbarians. By now, he was overconfident- the barbarians, he said, had overextended themselves and would surely flee northward. He was wrong.
Sakana decided to feign retreat, exploting the fact the South Wradyslaw language was not well known. He reinforced this impression by burning the crops of Westerners as he left, preventing him from feeding off the land if he advanced again. Obro, as expected, pursued his forces in the hope of victory.
The culmination of this was called the Battle of Masein. In reality, the Danion army was in Masein itself while Sakana's army was on the hill above it. Both armies were tired by this point, so for one night neither expected battle.
ii: Battle of Masein
Sakana was by this time desperate. If he lost this battle, he would be overthrown by his men- even the territories he had already gained outside Dalran would be tenous. Worse, he and his family would be killed.
Circumstances were not as bad as he believed. Obro, expected that Sakana's last resort strike would be a night attack, kept his men awake in anticipation. After a few hours, he decided to march up the hill- but Sakana's night watch detected his advance.
The result was a desperate melee at the top of the hill. Sakana, however, saw his opportunity. Rapidly getting together what men he could, he had a soldier with good eyesight help him direct them around the enemy forces.
Meanwhile, Sakana himself focused Kratho and, with him by his side, hijacked a Danion chariot. Pretending to be the driver, he had Kratho cry "RETREAT!" in Danionese, causing panic in Obro's forces.
By 6:00 A.M, the battle was over. Obro himself had fought valiantly during it, but by now was barely alive. Danion had now fallen.
Part 3: The Fall of the Viceroyalty
i: Securing Danion
Senhire, King of the Viceroyalty, believed this to be his chance.
