[FfH II Art Team Blog]

The current Volcano graphics are horrible, imho. Could someone either make better graphics or just convince Kael to use the FF variety?
I think the FF volcano is the same kind, not better but worse. Maybe I find one picture, but I am not experienced in animation.

How would I go about importing a nif unit model into blender. I would like to mess around a little bit and see what I can come up with. When I try to import any of the FFH models into blender an error in blender pops up saying I should check the console. I have the latest version of blender, Python 2.5, the NIF scripts and PyFFI. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. I had no idea where to put it and this thread seemed the most fitting.

Just a quick question. Are the mercenaries going to get race specific (elf, dwarf, orc) graphics at some point?

Oh yes and it would also be nice if the Paladins could also get a race specific artwork (as the Luchuirp Paladins have the Dwarf Promotion, but are obviously too big :). Anyway I think the Dwarven Paladin should be something special like the Dwarven Druid or the Dwarven Shadow)

Lamia News :

For those who are wondering what is the Lamia status, I can say that the modeling and texturing is near done. Finaly, I used Sez female model as a base, it's faster than recreating something new from nothing, so a part of the credit goes to him. I've modified the human part to still differentiate the model. Sorry boys, but Lamia have smaller breast than succubus :D. Anyway, here is what it look (the 3 tiers). Next step will be animation, and it's Refar's task :

Its because Roland is linking to a pic in the team forum, and you guys don't have access to it. If it makes you feel any better it looks really nice. :goodjob:

Here is a copy for people that want to check it out. ***WARNING*** In a possible first for the internet there is some female nudity in the following image. OKay... well maybe not the first.

Spoiler :

I tend to think that their skin should transition from human skin tone to colorful scales much more slowly, especially on the back and especially on the first one. I'd have the scales extend at lest half way up the back of the torso, gradually fading to the flesh tone.

Beautiful work, definitely. Might even make me have another round as the Kurios just to try a magic-based tactic. :p You can see a real theme of getting more and more powerful with each step; I don't have to ask which is the adept, and which is the archmage. But the sudden transition in back is a bit artificial looking. MC's suggestion seems good. Alternatively, the front fades nicely; I doubt I'd notice it at all from a distance. Maybe you could have the entire area where the human and snake parts meet be that color, before (in the back, anyways) fading into the more colorful tone. If that made any sense whatsoever.
Of course, there are a lot of things that look way better in game then in previews; I had my doubts about the purple haired huntress, but in game, it looks perfect.
One last idiotically small note: what's up with the ears on the mage and archmage?
EDIT: Any plans for the Lamia race in terms of stat mods? Or will they be treated as non-specified race (e.g. human)?

About the ears, it's a little Blender glitch because of Alpha Channel. The ears will be the same color as the skin in game.

Great job with the lamias. Reckon they'll be done in time for Ice version 1?

Is there any chance that the old Shield Wall artwork will ever get reused? That was one of my favorites and it was a shame to see it go (the artwork, not the unit). Maybe it could replace the phalanx art for a civ that doesn't have a unique model yet?

well, depends on how much time i have when I am done with my thesis ;)
so, 16th december I can tell you more about what comes next and stuff. right now i havent touched blender for weeks (since the devout) and I don´t think I have time to touch it the next seven weeks.
After that I will work through elohim, dwarves and dark elves, to finish the latter two and give elohim finally a distinct look.
After that... lets see, I still like the idea of ferret men ;)
