OOC: Does this land grabbing remind anyone else of what the Kurios did in the last game? Makes me glad I'm on an island...

OOC: it does, then of course: Cardith Lorda dies! Senate and warlords. World against them yeah.'

And Caravans are easy. Next up: PMEd after update.

Also, does it matter where i the region the cities are?

And am I right in thinking that the Sidar have that massive continent to themselves? Maybe someone should move?

The map will be posted larger size with people on it after the first update, but i want that last set of orders in first (jopa), then i can post it.

I'll try to get the update (assuming i have jopa's orders) up by monday evening (or sunday even maybe).

Read the update: i think you could take the soulless grigori. (maybe???)

Thank Junil there's good people like the khazad to lead them to salvation.

I'll send orders in few minutes.

(For my NES, Hippus are still NPC, and I'm unfortunately still locked for players, except for Masada who Algeroth picked as successor. I was in quite a trouble last time, for the update, and it would be irresponsible to take new players. It would even be irresponsible to join another nes, but still ;) )

It occurs to me that picking the Sheaim may make this particular GM dislike me...heh, oh well, every game needs a bad guy, I guess...

actually i got a soft spot for the sheim. especially os-gabella (sp?).

I have a feeling you would have had more problems with me or Jopa as a GM. Jopa didn't want the Infernals being summoned because he thought it would polarise diplomacy too much, I would guess he'd think the same about the Sheaim. I will probably not allow the sheaim in EkoNES.

@ Immaculate. before i decide how to spend my remaining gold, can you tell me what tech i have?

Sorry i didn't notice this until now; no- your tech will be an exciting surprise. you can buy its goodies in turn 1.

Every civilization yearns for greater heritage. Just like every man looks back at his ancestors and takes pride in his family achievement, so does every nation build her culture on ancient traditions and customs, and glorifies ancient victories.

Kuriotates are different. They are well aware that all of their tradition was lost in the Eternal Winter, diminished under sheets of snow. Citizens of once glorious cities were forced to watch their demise. At the beginning the winter seemed much worse than any other seen before - crops withered and livestock died. But it was actually much, much worse than any winter they could have imagined. Entire cities died of famine, men watched their children freeze. Cities were abandoned, and only those who managed to hunt or forage survived.

331. seasons later, as Kuriotate tales count, the Winter ended. What was left of once great Patrian culture was eternally lost, and Kuriotate men knew it. Even their language was lost and transformed, only vaguely resembling ancient Patrian.

Kuriotates were men with growing history. They chose to forge their own history and make their own culture that their children can be proud of. They did not judge a man by his birth, but by his actions. They valued one's achievements, not his father's. Those few that traced their ancestry to the Patrian nobility were as good as peasants in this new, reborn, Erebus.

Even so, their history remains rich and interesting. Kuriotates get their name from the word Curia, an ancient Patrian word meaning 'Council House', 'Senate' or 'Town Hall'. In truth, Kuriotates were a combination of many tribes and clans. During Eternal Winter, communities were once again reduced to tribes and bands. After the winter ended, those tribes grew quickly, and soon discovered one another. Tribes soon formed themselves, deployed armies, proclaimed kingdoms, noble republic, and despoties. The perils also grew - bandits, orcs and beasts all preyed together on those new civilizations. One of the tribes in the region was named Avelius. It was prosperous tribe with the vision. Their king, Hyagar II Lorda, followed idea of uniting all tribes. He did so by diplomacy and trade, and soon was a Tribal Confederation of Kuriotates found, named after the council and also council house where 'kings', warlords, and chiefs all met. They founded a city of Avelorn, named after the tribe that unified them all.

Second great name that mentions in scrolls of history is name of Cardith Lorda. He was a great-grandson of Hyagar II Lorda, and is also known as Boy-King and Second Father of Kuriotates. In reality, Cardith was only a boy that took the throne by the right of inheritance, with no real power. As it was common in that age, council of generals and advisers was formed to lead the kingdom until the Cardith came off age. Generals and advisors always adored idea of Kuriotates, idea of true equality, but were never able to fully implement it, as Avelius kings were always reluctant to give up their privileges, and too careful to risk such a massive change.

Now they had an opportunity, with puppet boy sitting on the throne. Cardith was used to sign many decrees, abolishing the aristocracy and every noble privileges, forcing other tribes to yield their military to central government, and finally, to dethrone Cardith himself, and to remove the Lorda dynasty, and to form Republic that will lead all of the Kuriotates.

Such was the real story, but in populace, Cardith's name will always be remembered as a name of a powerful ruler, who was bold enough to make daring decisions that would finally establish strong nation, and above all, a men who was not selfish, but ready to give up even his throne for the interests of nation. It was not publicly known that he was under influence of more powerful generals, and that Republic was only an excuse so that those influential can govern directly.

But they ruled in good will, and stayed true to nation's ideals. Liberty was sacred, and their approach attracted many an individual, and many a tribe, to join the Kuriotates. Their respect for foreign and renowned hospitality attracted even non human civilizations to their lands - proud elves, wild satyrs and mystic centaurs were all respecting the Senate and willing to share their lands with humans that carried the Draconian Banner.

ahhh!!!! why does it shrink it? thats a really big map but it got shrunk. is that photobucket or this forum?

The Senate would like to state that we do not acknowledge any of those deals, in case someone claimed the province that we claimed as well.

OOC, marking spheres of influence this early is not realistic... We would not even know each other, or even know how the world looks.

Thomas you have some explaining to do...

In his defense, he had colonized long before the talks began:
Sorry, but not what i had said at all.

Amurites, province 32
Cevedes will be near the forke in the left river (to the left of the 3)
research towards mysticism and scolarship.
expand into province 30, and build Nimirail, connecting with roads (120? gold)
I will also buy a farm near cevedes and buy 1 priority slot in Cevedes for agriculture.
the rest of the gold is saced.

Kylorin left us abandoned after the age of ice. He took our finest men, and went to kill the fallen god, but none have returned. They must have been successful, for the Ice is gone, but that is but a small reward.
Kylorin had led the Amurite through the age of ice. His children are among us. His blood is that of the Amurite.
We were forced from our homes by the rising water. I, Thomas, Child of Kylorin and Lord of the Amurites, have decreed that the ruins of the old illian Capital will serve us well as a new city. We have had no trouble ousting the remnents of the illians. Without thier god, they are nothing. In honor of our past, this City has been renamed Cevedes.
This world is Harsh, and no less dangerous for the lack of ice. In response to this, i have set some of the people to try to reconnect with our city of Nimirail to the south. I have also decreed that an attempt is made to start to farm the land around cevedes.
