After the peace was made, the two factions in Sofala had to hash out a new identity. As a compromise and after long hard debates, the two sides decided to infuse elements from both of their former flags into one. They decided that the colorations were to come from the original inhabitants flag but the shape was to come from the invaders.
The Red within the flag is a motif of the amount of blood that has been spilled in the name of right, survival, and sacrifice. It shows that protecting the innocent and right and the ability to survive comes at a cost and requires great sacrifice.
Everything good and right comes at a cost and sacrifice. ~ Mupta Proverb

All the different realms meet up at one end. ~ Mupta Proverb
Lastly the shield in the middle of the flag is the shield that all warriors within the Mupta aspire to carry. Muptanites know that they fight for and protect right, justice, and the weak.
