UPDATE FOUR: Years 151-200: Eviction Notice, Shipwreck, Man in a Cage

The Great Dark Clouds of the ‘Als (part 2- Eviction Notice)
The Sidar have had enough of the predations of the squatter ‘Als and launch a great military operation to find and evict the squatters from their territory and drive them west. The local Sidar population is only too eager to assist the military in locating the poaching ‘Als and point them out wherever they hide. Sidar militia descend on their camps and are able to round up many and ship them westward with warnings that should they return they will be killed. Some camps, especially those of ‘Als squatters who have taken to banditry put up more of a fight but with the awesome numerical superiority of the Sidar miltia, their resistance is short-lived and these are either slain or also shipped westwards.

Sidar territory cleansed of ‘Als squatters. Sidar gain one stability.
Sidar peasant militia (1 unit) require 5 gold to recruit replacements lost to bandit squatters.

Shipwreck

On a cool day during the rainy season, large bearded men with blond hair and pale, sun-burnt skin show up at the Kuriotates city of Averlorn. Once the Kuriotates fetch translators they are able to determine what they have to say. These bearded men claim to be representatives of a race who had travelled far from their northern homes by great ships larger then any canoe built to this day- so great that they require entire banks of oarsmen to move through the waters. The sailors claim that they set sail across an unknown expanse of sea and were tossed by a storm. Their great ships, no matter how mighty in comparison to river canoes were no match for the fury of the sea and their entire fleet was destroyed. Many men died but some survived and these washed ashore on the peninsula north of the Kuriotates land. The land, they say, is poisoned and their people have grown so hungry that they have been reduced to searching for assistance- this is how they came to Averlorn. The shipwrecked sailors beg for food and assistance. What will the Kuriotates do?

A Constellation Appears in the Sky
Astrologers report seeing the sign of ‘the Open Tome’. This constellation is sacred to followers of Oghma and it foretells a time of great learning. Elder councils and apprenticeship programs in particular are ‘blessed’.

Amurites gain 5 rp
Bannor gain 5 rp
Girgori gain 5 rp
Hippus gain 5 rp
Kuriotates gain 5 rp
Sidar gain 5 rp
Sheim gain 9 rp

Hippus and the Hyena-Men
Hippus continue to watch over their captured Hyena-men. They learn much of their ways and their culture and have even begun to communicate effectively with them

Hippus lose 2 food to maintain the internment camps

Ir-O-Kee and their Tribute
The Ir-O-Kee continue to pay tribute to the nation who saved their people from death and slavery.

Hippus gain 5 food and 5 gold.

Goblins Return
Foragers in the area of Sabel Upon Gate report seeing smoke rising from the hills and spotting small groups of goblins hiding in the countryside. None have struck at the people of the province but it is obvious that those who ran in the face of the militia 1 generation ago have now returned to take up residence in their old tunnels.

The Voice of Gods? Just some Crazy Murderous Old Man? (part 2- ‘Hell Boy’)
The nephew of the murderous adept who has become known throughout diplomatic channels as ‘Hell-Boy’ on account of his horns and distorted skin coloration and patterning was exiled from Amurite lands and taken in by the Bannor where he remains under watch. The boy has indeed shown considerable ‘hell-taint’. In his cell he has covered the walls in summoning circles drawn in his own blood and the smell of sulphur has infused the cell. Bannor guards report hearing strange laughing and cackling which elder Bannor suggest may be an imp’s speech.
An almost universal call for his execution has gone up and its very unlikely the Bannor government will ignore this call.

The Kuriotates and their Goats
Goat herds in Kuriotates lands have returned to their pre-poaching populations and Kuriotates will be able to build goat pastures once they research the appropriate technologies

The Amurites and their Sheep
Amurites, now feeling safe from the predations of the hyena-men cannibals have taken to hunting the abundant sheep herds that have returned to the province.

Amurites gain 5 food.

New Technologies

No new technologies have been uncovered this turn.

relatively quiet turn- but i guess that makes sense at this stage of the game.

Some last minute diplomacy may affect the update... stay tuned.

Quiet update, but good. Poor sailors

hey look an update with out some sort of military threat against the Hippus. ;)

This despicable creature must be excecuted immediately. He will receive no trial. His death shall be quick, and perhaps his spirit will be purged of this unsightly curse.

He will be hanged immediately.

OOC: EVERY TIME I SAY THAT I FEEL THREATENED YOU GUYS PILE UP YOUR MUSCLE EVEN THOUGH WE WANT **** PEACE! DUDE. IF YOU GUYS KEEP DOING THIS I WILL QUITE BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR ****. SO PLEASE, WHEN I WANT PEACE THAT IS WHAT I WANT. NOT A THINLY VEILED THREAT. GOD.

(out of PM space.)

OOC: Yelling probably isn't the most effective manner to get a peace... Looks like I've missed a lot background political undercurrents on my little island...
If there weren't an ocean and physical impossibility I'd offer sanctuary for that poor hell-boy. Life's obviously not been very kind to him, and I doubt the after-life will be much kinder

Charles, Diplo was in character, no offense meant.

Seeing as you have no PM space I will post my reply in the thread.

To The Grigori (Private):
The attacks were ''theoretical attacks'' that you may or may not choose to make upon the Dove-Yellow. My only demand is that you do not make this theoretical attack, or any other hostile move towards the Dove-Yellow.

I do not represent the Dove-Yellow, I represent the Bannor, their self-appointed protectors. The Dove-Yellow do not have the strength or numbers to attack you so you are not at risk.

Sorry for any misunderstandings on your part.

The irony here is that I can quote several times where I told you in my PM that the Bannor do not want war. I don't know why you got the feeling that we diid.

Heh, you guys sound like me and Immac over in FFHNES1...

Anyway, good update. Nice and quiet, with a victory for the Sidar. None of those messy wars that'll interfere with my peaceful buildup. And no, that wasn't irony, I'm just taking a slightly different (and more lore-appropriate) tack with this one.

All stats should be sent out- if you are missing stats please advise.

What i answered a player (in e-mail) when they asked me about resource surveys:

"You just say in your orders that you want to send some people out to survey the land- look for interesting rocks and plants, bring them back, catalogue them, compare them to what the elders know. It takes 5 gold/province for a full resource survey but then i will tell you about stuff like iron that you would otherwise never know. You can skimp on it and do it for cheaper but you might miss some resources."

Oh ok, that sounds interesting.

BTW, I am still (slowly) updating the pre-thread for EkoNES, so remember to have a quick flick through it every so often if you have time.

My main issue right now is the leviathan of a Spreadsheet I'm going to have to make.

You should put a notice in your thread when you update the rules and state what you changed so we don't end up reading the whole thing again.
I just had a read through and it looks like you updated the tech category descriptions- i think the rest was there before... yes?

Also- did you think about what i said about maps? You had said before there would be more regions and thefore more room to expand. Is that still true.

Immac.

PS: I am going to repost this in your thread to move Ekoness thread discussion to the Ekoness thread.
