To the Honorable Nations of Erebus

I, Kane-no-Kappawah, have been named dignitary of the Kappa by the Mingled Council, and I hereby humbly greet the nations of dry-landers who have survived the Great Freezing. We as a nation look forward to a new era of prosperity, and I hope we will always meet in peace.

The people of Kappa have long dwelled apart from the affairs of the dry-landers. The retreat of the Long Winter and the following Awakening have restored our wetlands to their former glory, and we are content to flourish in these lands. We have little interest in forest and plain, and we know you have little interest in the marsh and the swamp. We will respect the boundaries that have been drawn and only ask that you do the same.

May the rain always find you,

Kane-no-Kappawah
Grand Dignitary of the Kappa Nation

Kane swam to the chamber entrance slowly. The honor of meeting with the Council was great, but he was never quite ready for the sensation of mingling. He wondered if he was being summoned to provide a report on the Kuriorate gifts he had been studying. The tools of the dry-landers were foreign and confusing to most of his peers, but Kane quickly divined their purpose, almost as if he had used them before. He paused one last time, and cleared his head of thoughts. The Council represented all of Kappa tradition, and to enter the chamber with thoughts of dry-landers would be highly disrespectful.

Kane entered and knelt in the shallow pool formed by twelve waterfalls. Beneath each waterfall sat one of the Council, bathed in water purified by the canopy and the divine flowers that formed the roof of the chamber. Kane bowed low, filling his head-bowl with the chamber waters, and felt the mingling of the Council take him

“Kane Hatsuwah, you have come as summoned. The Kappa have endured great hardship and great sorrow, but the seasons have changed with the world. Do you know why you are here?”

Kane only shuddered slightly as the voice came to him from nowhere. In the mingling, it could be difficult to find your own self, and he struggled to focus his thoughts.

“I have been studying the instruments of the dry-landers. Am I to give a report?”

“No Kane, we will ask more of you then that. The days of isolation for the Kappa are past. The dry-landers expand their farms and forests by the day. Without contact, we fear the Kappa could be forgotten from this land. You are to go and meet with the dry-landers, and speak the interests of the Kappa to them. You will keep our lands wet and borders safe. You will learn from these strange creatures, and the Kappa will grow. Never before has a Kappa been so gifted in the ways of the dry-landers. Never before have the Kappa needed to look beyond their waters. You have been chosen to take this role.”

As Kane began to grasp the implications of what had just been said, a thousand thoughts flashed through his mind before he could stop them. His wife and family, his waters and the traps within, the beautiful city of Kappa Mahwah with its waterfalls and trees, his entire life spent in the wetlands of the Kappa. Finally, his thoughts turned to the tools in his house, the ‘plow’ and the ‘parasol’, and how the world of the Kappa could never be the same.

“We are glad you understand. This is an assignment of utmost importance to our people. You must leave here and walk on the lands. As the Grand Dignitary of the Kappa people, you are no longer of the Hatsuwah, but are now Kane-no-Kappawah. Go now, and bring us peace.”

Very good Hbar... very good indeed.
Ever read "a stranger in a strange land"?

I haven't but I have listened to the Iron Maiden song of the same title. Which going with Maiden's style it's probably similar.

Your story made me think of it-
i totally 'grokked' it.

Before i send you their info i need you to send me (via PM) your e-mail address.
Their info is written in an excel format so i usually just add it to an attachment and send it out.

Honest constructive criticism welcome.

To Brothers Dani and Karlz Horonz,
leaders of the enlightened Sidar

I contact you to express my sorrow over the conflict between our peoples. While my predecessor saw you as impulsive aggressors, I can sympathize with your plight. Our nation has felt the fury of the Als’ raids, so we understand that you would fear the Als entering your lands. I hold no grudge against you for the altercation that occurred and I thank you for restraining your soldiers, as we did ours, to prevent the escalation of conflict. In this, you proved King Kedeld wrong and together the prudence of our great nations has avoided a costly war.

However, I wish to inform you that the ‘Hallowed’ you attacked were not soldiers, but slaves of the Als. They have begun to live among us, and have told us that the forests you forced them from (province 7) are their ancestral territory. The Als raided their people to use as slaves, just as they have raided Luchuirp settlements in the past. In entering your lands, the ‘Hallowed’ were fleeing their homeland since the Als had come to enslave their entire nation once and for all. They did not realize they were violating your territorial bounds and were only seeking refuge. We have offered them safety in Luceido, until they have recovered sufficiently to return to their ancestral lands.

Therefore, I wish to make three requests of our neighbors the Sidar. Firstly, that you accept our apologies for any conflict that occurred and that we may return to peaceful relations. Secondly, that you allow the ‘Hallowed’ to resettle their ancestral lands once we have mustered the strength to protect those lands from the Als. In return, the Luchuirp nation will use our soldiers to guarantee that the ‘Hallowed’ do not stray into your territory once again. Finally, we hope to dissuade you against the use of slavery. The terrors wrought against the ‘Hallowed’ as well as our own citizens have shown us the horrors of this practice and we believe that your nation of enlightened individuals must certainly agree that slavery should not be tolerated.

I am confident that this cooperation between our nations will be of great benefit to both our peoples.

King Kejol, 7th Grand Crafter of the Luchuirp People

To the leaders of the Als

As you most likely know, a group of your slaves who refer to themselves as the ‘Hallowed’ escaped from your tyranny over 100 years ago. What you may not be aware of is the fact that these escaped slaves have been forced to flee their ancestral forests of The Hallows (province 7) and are now living in the sanctuary of our capital, Luceido. The newly freed ‘Hallowed’ have told us appalling stories of your oppression and the labor you forced upon them. We seriously hope that your policies have changed since that time.

Even more disturbing was the presence of dwarves among the ‘Hallowed.’ These refugees claimed to not me from the forests of The Hallows, but to be descended from slaves captured from the outskirts of Luceido during the 13th decade of the age of rebirth. While we always questioned the intent of you raids, we are disgusted to learn that you were forcing our citizens into slavery.

However, we realize that your people have had plenty of time to rethink their ways over the past century. As a token of your goodwill, would you be willing to return our captured citizens back to Luceido? In addition, we ask you to revoke your claim of ownership of the ‘Hallowed’ people. They are now full citizens of the Luchuirp nation, and we would appreciate you releasing the rest of their people from bondage. The ‘Hallowed’ will soon be resettling their ancestral lands of The Hallows (province 7) and we would appreciate you not pursuing your former ambitions of subjugating these proud people.

I trust that your generosity will show the whole world that you have reformed your oppressive ways and are ready to thrive and prosper with the other free nations of Erebus.

King Kejol, 7th Grand Crafter of the Luchuirp People

And so the anti-evil begins again...about the same time as well... Don't give in!

Immy, are we going to see a version with Cities on it?

Soon- the map making is actually pretty labour intensive so i do what i can when i can- definately before the update though...

EDIT: Its labour intensive because i don't knowwhat i am doing and i have to look up tutorials for every step.

i.

EDIT 2:
Hahaha.... I see that Rinwel showed up. Just for that, I think I'm going to have to try and claim that island.
Its a bit of a tribute to thejopa's NES since he got this all started.

All the new players should have now recieved thier stats and a breif outline.

I would encourage those who have not yet introduced themselves in thread to do so at their earliest convenience.

Also:
i want to update post #3; if people are willing to repost their data (in the thread) with all the information filled out- it would save me so much time. Also- it gives you a chance to update your leaders and stuff.

Here's an example for the NPC Kuriotates:
Kuriotates:

Player: NPC

If you want to invent a flag for your nation, that would be pretty cool too (and i'll reward you with one stability or 15rp towards culture tech (your choice)- assuming your design makes at least a bit of sense and looks better than 'absolutely horrible') (i ripped one off for the kuriotates but you need to make or find an original one if you want the bonus)
