NOTW XXIII: The War Party. Game Thread.

CCRunner, it is true that I have been quiet this conference. That is because I am observing all the faces that are here, and there motives behind each vote. Voting for a bandwagon has no use but to speed someone even further down the falls, but observing who votes on each bandwagon does.

While I am not sure that Diamondeye is of the war party, I do believe he means ill for my race. We are at a peace conference, where our two parties are sitting down and discussing a truce, but how can that happen without diplomats from the Ljosalfar? It can't.

Thus, I believe you to be in cahoots with Alazkan, Diamondeye.

well. we've all lined up to take a pot-shot at diamondeye, haven't we? but it seems to me that he has not advocated killing off the entire ljosalfar delegation; rather, he wishes to kill two of them. and there are... two, five, uh... eight members of that delegation? does not seem like genocide to me.

diamondeye has derailed the conference somewhat with accusations based on wild assumptions, but many of the accusations held against him are based on faulty logic and misdirection, which is worse, methos.

and i am not inclined to trust the non-explanation that chandrasekhar has offered, so it seems my votes have turned full circle.

Two... And then it will lead to more. Plus, he's even betrayed his own race.

The cook has one of his more low-keyed days, seemingly a bit more content than previous days. Presumably the death of the assassin and the subsequent death-less night that followed has dampened his petulant mood - somewhat.

... and who would ever care for the cook? A knife that could make his life so much easier, no longer peeling potatoes with a fork and a spoon, no longer cutting the salted dried meat with the whiskers, but no, the noblewoman gets it to clean her nails, go figure, and who am I to complain, hand it off to The13thRonin then, I'm just the lowly cook after all, I deserve to suffer, let CCRunner have the cloak and oyzar the paper then, what do I care, everybody's happy then, except they're all at each others' throats all the time so I guess some presents won't do much good...

... even a lowly cook could figure out that support votes are useless, I would support that stupid siege engineer fellow but that just means someone else gets the swim, better decide who that someone is instead, not that voting for that silent reverend oats is much more courageous but better him than any of the others on offer, that's what I think...

Explain yourself, Diamondeye. Why do you question my Svartalfar blood?

While I still don't agree with Diamondeye concerning Ljosalfar, I have been convinced that he isn't of the war party, so he can stay for now at least.

The Ljosalfar Bodyguard can't suppress an amused snort at this last statement.

"You sound almost as though you're asking for another chance, Siege Engineer. Odd, considering that you voted for the Border Guard yourself, and then against me when I questioned you, and then against the Border Guard again when it became clear that no one was buying your accusation. Especially odd since you're still holding death over her head and mine.

"As I said before, I don't intend to vote for you today. Your Lead Envoy's continued absence irritates me too much for that. But I feel that our differences will have to be resolved, one way or another, by tomorrow evening. Whether you'll give up this farce of a vendetta, or continue to make a useless distraction out of yourself, the choice is up to you."

reverend oats must die. I don't think Chandrasekhar or Diamondeye deserve to. Although Diamondeye is lucky because I almost feel like I should avenge his past slight against my character at this opportune moment.

Chandrasekhar can have my vote.

I still don't like the way Diamondeye is purposely going after Ljosalfar, but I'll relax my accusations for now. Though I must highly suggest Diamondeye that you reconsider your actions and how they affect the peace treaty. Instead, I'll vote to remove the inactive reverend oats.

"Do at least try to prove me wrong, then, Methos. Can you vouch for Chandrasekhar or Stuck in Pi? Can you?"

The siege engineer spits on the ground.

"I wonder where you got that genocide-thing from. I don't want to see Oyzar dead. Nor Shadowbound or ZPV. Yet these clearly show signs of being Ljosalfar. Splime is fine in my book aswell. It's just that the two ladies there seem unable to tell me anything that could hint at their innocence. I saw we put one of them to the test. If I am wrong, I'll shut up about purging the Ljosalfar ranks. If I'm right, someone owes me a couple of apologies."

Time has run out for reverend oats.

Ah well, I might as well join the bandwagon i started myself. reverend oats for the swim.

Evening, Day Seven

Flush from their success with J-man, the delegates had chosen once more to target the silent.

"But I was working!" protested reverend oats as CCRunner, D'artagnan59, Diamondeye and Frozen In Ice tugged him down the hill. "We almost had the prisoners of war issue settled, now where's my scribe ..."

The Svartalfar honor guard rolled eyes at each other.

"The scribe is dead," Frozen In Ice said pointedly. "He was an assassin. Perhaps you missed it?"

"I missed nothing!" said the Lead Envoy indignantly. "I was referring to his replacement." He gave his escorts a unhappy look. "Did you know I was once the Minister of Propaganda for Faeryl Viconia herself? Such a shame no one ever tried it on me; I could have taught them a thing or two. Silly children, all of them. All of us. Silly, silly children."

They had reached the edge of the cliff.

"You may as well push me off," said reverend oats. "I'm sure you think you're doing the right thing."

"We're not children," said Diamondeye, "not any of us. And no, we're not certain at all." They all pushed, and the Lead Envoy was gone.
