I was looking at my hitm files and found that i have 5 files in the directory that appear to have not been unzipped: uiblood for hitm; uicoal for hitm; uigray for hitm;uisepia for hitm; and uitourquoise for hitm. is this the reason for my ctd's? if so, where do i unzip them to?
I have them as well...wonder what they do?
Read the History in the Making Readme. 95% of the answers to everything are either located in the Readme, the individual mod's readmes, or the FAQ located in
Thread #3. All you have to do is read. That's why I give the option for the Readme to pop up immediately after installing HiTM v3.00.
The ui-zips are User Interfaces, coal is kinda black/grey iirc, blood is red etc.
Well after multiple attempts at getting the patch to work with the other 2 new files, I started running into an error that wouldnt even let me get BoTS running..would crash out right at the XML mark...so i uninstalled and will reinstall it and try again
Hmmm...I cant even get 3.0 to work now lol...darn it..i shouldnt have updated it...funny how some will have zero problems and others will have multiple issues. I guess Ill just take a break from Civ for awhile. I put back in 3.0 and it looks different then the one I had before, with many more options, yet all my civics are totally not what they used to be.
I never, ever, ever once ran into any crazy/kooky issues when installing my own patches. I don't understand how some of you guys have such problems installing a patch! It's pretty straight forward! Unzip to Desktop... move to your MODS folder.
If you modified/added any files in HiTM, it could cause issues, naturally. And clearing the cache periodically certainly doesn't hurt, either.
Basically, if you had it working before and now it doesn't... it must be user error. Sorry man.
Just to be on the safe side, too, before installing/updating HiTM, unload all mods (load up a vanilla game) and make sure all game options are UNCHECKED, and have a map script loaded that is included in vanilla (Pangea, etc). Exit out of Civ, and install HiTM/patches. Load up Civ and switch to HiTM.
I have noticed that sometimes if you exit out of HiTM with certain options checked, or a custom map script (PerfectWorld2, etc) that are not in vanilla BtS, it acts a little strange sometimes... but nothing that should cause CTDs or anything funky happening to the vanilla game or it's files. More of an annoyance issue than anything.
