You have to have played a specific mod to participate in FFHneses

I have not played FFH I only know tiny bits of lore. Yet I'm interested, and neither Immac or Ekolite have "beaten" me away for not knowing lore.

Besides that, I don't have more experience with civ4 than 3 games on easiest difficulties after that I uninstalled civ 4 and have never touched it again.

FFH is fantasy, just with more lore. I prefer fantasy, over "Real world" NES. HEX-nes'es are going far to forum-games section in my humble opinion. But if there will be any NES with fantasy settings, I'm interested. There I do not have to know who was Saladins 3rd Son and what he did how he died and how many heirs he had(including those bastard heirs). (sorry but everyone else seem to know this!)

EDIT: Sekai NES looks very interesting to me.

No, not everyone else knows this. It isn't absolutely needed to have a great knowledge of history to participate in an Earth NES. It sure helps, but it isn't needed. On the other hand, you could say the same for FFH. I don't know a single thing about its countries or leaders, so why should I bother playing by your logic?

Each player will play a faction from the Fall From Heaven mod for Civilization Four. As such, each player is expected to know somewhat about this setting. The faction a player plays can be modified from the commonly accepted lore according to the their whims provided that the basic lore stays the same (for an excellent example of this, consider what Ekolite has written about the Calabim). The idea is that each player is roleplaying a leader (or collection thereof) who is leading their civilization to greatness after the retreat of the ice after the age of ice.

Says here you need to know. And yet it isn't written anywhere for us to look at.

Actually, if you were really interested you can find out more of the FFH background (check it out, it's a good read) by looking at its sub-forum in the Projects section then you can from actually playing the game. I haven't played FFH in about a year, and I don't play any civ at all.

Here's a link :)

Man, why does everyone think they have to start going troll all the time? All I was commenting on was the gap between the two groups, and a couple reasons why, and then suddenly there's friction. Arguments. Annoyances. Let's be friendly, people. Kiss and make up.

EDIT: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171398.

Gives the very, very basics of FFH - nations, religions, and whatnot.

Ignore him, he's always been a troll. I don't expect it's anything personal aginast you or anyone, he's just immature. Bless.

I know nothing of Saladin's children. The fact that NESes are always alternate history means that you do not need to know bizarre, specific details.

I don't know, I think the FFH NESes are a good place for these people to get their feet wet and decide if they like the temp. I do feel that probably only half or less will switch to other NESes, but thats okay with me.

EDIT - Pokes Luckymoose with a spoon.

I have seen plenty of good fantasy settings, never modded one, but have seen plenty.

I'm waiting til any of those "pop up", or perhaps some Real world based nes that is "interesting" enough.

I wish no fight, I wish not to insult anyone, I'm sorry for my behavior if it causes(ed) any problems.

Naw you didn't. Well not me at least. I think Luckymoose just likes to argue for the sake of arguing. Which admittedly can be fun once in a while. But yeah there was a large wave of fantasy NESes not that long ago, but the wave has passed and will come again I am sure.

Posted here instead of in the Jeje thread because Jeje is dead:

I was going for quality too, I never had more than 500 armed men :)

I would have saved the villages from the evil zombies and they would have joined me. I would serve Trollzkin as a loyal vassal. My elite canoe troops would defend the river line running through my territory. My magic users would mature, along with another one using a 'swarm' (of wasps) spell to disperse the vast horders of enemy warriors. Then Trollzkin would diplo-annex me, but I would still get to play a role in the greater victory over the other island using airborne balloon troops. FACT!

I was actually counting on having the villages join you. I was hoping to have them force you to grow quicker than you should have, making your quality of life difficult to maintain and rise.

I'm vaguely thinking about joining another (non-FFH) NES, does anyone have any sugestions? I had a quick look through the forum and in honesty there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of choice right now. Are there any in particular that I should look at?
