Sure you said you would accept food before...?

@Charles: We are probably going to joint hire the elves as a continent, it is counter-productive for you to make a seperate offer.

Speaking of which, does anyone have a plan? I have some troops and some gold, but no idea how to fight these things.

We accept food, however, we require small sum of gold too.

I propose that the sheild is split into smaller units and sent to assist every company of soldiers. the members able to communicate with each other should be able to help coordiante the attacks, while things like small life, death, fire, spirit, etc, mana, could all help against these monsters.

when writing your battle orders, please account for the unit of the sheild accompnonying your soldiers.

Additionally... the sheild is support. they should not fight nless at the last recourse.

OOC: That is why they are a shield... When is the last time you fought a battle with a shield as your main weapon and your sword to block their blows? The Shield will help our soldiers fight with their specialties, but will not fight to keep safe their advantage. :)

OOC: I fight all my battles using human shields. They are wonderful at absobing blows and arrows and bullets.

Not to mention that if often frightens the person fighting against you. Also, when you get closer, you can use them like a club!

Actually, I used those tactics, and they worked very well. Probably because my human shields were dead to begin with, but still...
That's no fun, it has to be alive to do maximum collateral damage!

Discord among the Chiefs

"I thank you for coming to this meeting, we have much to discuss in this chaotic time we find ourselves in, civil unrest is growing at home and the undead at our borders. We must act soon or be devoured from the inside and the out." Began Territh, the current Speaker.
He was a rather large man, not terribly fit but not entirely blob-ish. Unlike many of the previous Speakers he had no military background or many grand achievements under his belt. Ordinarily this would earn him the scorn of his fellow chiefs, but Territh was different, he had a charisma that put others at ease, could work with anyone, and any project he worked on came out ahead of schedule, under budget, and more productive. He was in a sense the first true Hippus politician.

As he looked around the Council hall, he noticed that there were several empty seats, most notably the Hupoo chief, the Keekoy head priest, and the Gnoll representative. He made a loud sigh. He had hoped they would be here so that this conflict could be settled here. But it looked like each party was planning it's own moves.

"I would like to start with the unrest in the Capital since it's closer to the heart and is fully dependent on us to solve. What are the Council's opinions on this matter?"

"We should start up a forced conscription, send them off to fight the undead, they won't be able squabble when they're busy fighting." Shouted one of the commanders.

"And then what? When they come back it'll be even worse since they'll know how to fight better." Shot back another.

"What if we hold a religious debate like the Bannor did?" Asked an older chief.

"You can have a debate with the followers of Camullos, all they know is violence." Yelled someone.

"Well at least they're true men unlike those tree lovers."

The remarks went back and forth for what seemed like forever until finally out of the back someone shouted. "Will you all be quiet! By Tali's breath you're all traitors to your heritage.

The hall was stone quiet as everyone looked to see who made this comment. They saw that it originated from and old man and by his numerous scars, his wide grin, and missing fingers he was a priest of Tali.

"All of your talk of denying one group or other their right to choose"spits in the general direction of the chiefs" you talk of denying the basic right of all Hippus and Tali's gift to us all, our individuality. Now if you're all done with your blasphemy I believe the Speaker has something to say."

Territh coughed loudly to bring the attention back to the floor. "I agree with he has to say, we can favor either party without alienating the other and denying them their rights as Hippus, and they are all Hippus no matter what race they are. I propose that we use some of the army and the newly proposed "Glory Seekers" to patrol the Capital to prevent more violence, any caught would be punished appropriately and equally. I will host a meeting in a few days with more on this plan. Do any object?'

There was silence, most were still shocked by the priest. Territh took advantage of this and moved on.

"Right the next topic of discussion is these zombies..."

A Missive Given to All Mist Elf Ambassadors for the Nations of Edsunland:

It as come to my attention that a horde of vile undead has massed itself around the large continent of Edsunland, more so that this abbhorent collection of the living dead has served as a blight upon numerous unwitting nations. As I speak for the Elven peoples I will assure you all that our nation shall commit ourselves to the battle against these ghastly foes, however we find ourselves in a very difficult situation which prompts us to hesitate in any actions.

1)Our people are wary of allowing foreign military powers through our lands
While we are not native to the continent and we cannot claim undisputed mastery over the land just yet, our people dwelling in the newly established march of Idril Felagund are as wary of strange troops trouncing throughout this sacred land, possibly even marring it.

However, the matter at hand supercedes the needs of my people, so I grant authourity for this temporary opening of Idril Felagund's boarders, the conditions being that no foreign army may pass within 70 miles of the march or the Tomb of Seccullus or face immediate, and possibly harsh, punishment. Nor are the foreign armies to hunt or otherwise decimate the land- we will have hunters of the province to watch the troops so that these conditions are kept.

2)This 'life mana' is little more than a story to our peoples who, regretfully, lost their knowledge of the arcane when the First Maiden led our ancestors from the War of Two Seasons. As such we cannot construct or otherwise harness any power the tomb posses beyond what it resonates freely into the fertile land.

If we are to construct such a node we would ask that one of our more arcane-inclined nations send their scholars to Luthien Arcamael to teach the populous of the arts of Mysticism and Ley Lines.

Unless these conditions can be complied to I fear the Mist Elf aid in this war against the undead must wait.

~Penned in the hand of Isil Carnesir, Queen of the White, Lady of the Eternal House of Stars

I'd suggest to the people of Edsunland that you help the White Mist Elves construct a Life mana node this turn, if they succeed, this may be the end to all zombie problems in the future

In eschange for allowing Scholars o oghma study at the tomb later on, the Amurites will teach you all the secrets necessary to harness the power of life.

in essence, this would act as if I also had partial access to the node to power my spell casters.

You know, I believe that only a little effort would be required to make the tomb into a full-fledged node, but what do I know :crazyeye:

Just a note for anyone writing battle plans, the Hippus can spare the Blades and a spear militia for support duty (protecting mages and archers) due to them not being at full strength and me not wish to damage them further.

((! Slight problem here. I just read my stats and I will not have enough gold for the node for the next few turns, would it be possible to wait that long to complete the destruction of the undead? If so then the mist elves will accept the amurite proposition, Thomas.))

Might I ask, how much creating this node costs?
