Hey,

Gps to Eclipse.

Turn 236a.

The Mayans don't see it as spying. A huge construction project like
your Fortress Wall would be noticed by any vacationing Mayan.
Besides your completion has touched my border near the Mayan city
of Ulaanbaatar.

The P.V.K. Hitoxel has sank a French Caraval off the coast of the
Roman port of Shiraz.

A counteroffer has been sent to Rome.

Although we are peaceful deep in our hearts, we have to take precautions, just in case someone feels to attack our "defenseless" nation.

Japan will at no cost do a first strike to anyone...

Hey,

Gps to Eclipse.

Turn 237a.

The Mayan Priest-King closed the folder that contained the report
from The Mayan Watersworks. It was good news.

"You know Hira mou Itzal. The Mayan Peoples have a great strength
in them. The power to change the land to thier needs. In 20 years the
Great Northern Marshlands will be canaled & the land will glow as
golden as the sun."
Hira mou Itzal looked alittle green as she poured 2
steaming cups of hot Carthagenian wine. "You look ill Hira what is the
matter?"

She handed him a cup. "Its the rolling & swaying of the train. That
& the taste of this drink. Its just terrible without the French Spices."

She said French Spices as though she was talking about a friend she
had not seen in a long time. She opened a pouch at he waist and
handed him another folder, smaller & light blue. The size & color
meant it was a report from the Mayan-American Trade Community.

"Yes it would be much better with the spice but the Americans have
reasons."
He turned and looked out into the vast forest.
"We are but followers in that war."

Thousands & thousands of square miles of once Monkulian tundra
had been planted with trees. Soon there would be no tundra.
Even now lumber from this forest was building the many frigates
that launching every month.

The Mayan Priest-King opened the small folder. He smiled as he
read that the Coal Trade between America & the Mayan had broken
down. The Mayan's strict Laws of Timekeeping had ended the
deal at 4:13AM CIST. As America runs on a different time system the
contract would have to be resigned.

Hira mou Itzal handed him the last of her charge, a ornate cylinder.
Roman engravings of victories over the worthless Arabs & the founding
of resourse colonies. "Got to hand it to them. That Rome knows how
to show its greatness."

The Mayan Priest-King pulled the end off the cylinder noticing that it was
the rare large Jewel of Sangue Hun he had sent as a gift to the Roman
Emperor
. He laughed aloud as he took the scroll from inside & began
to read. It was good news. Rome had agreed to a trade.

@Hawklord: I believe I accepted. :faint: If not resend if you still want.

Sorry got carried away. :D

Lincoln addresses leaders of these lands

The times do change! America's population has been so unhappy for so long due to the lack of luxeries that I (Abe) have totally accepted that something has to be done about it. It is very unfortunate that the Mayan King failed to realize that America's mobilizing towards a war with France and there after an agreement of a protection pact would put such a bad taste in the Mayan Kings mouth, so it is what it is. France unwilling to accept peace under my terms so then France will die and the fleurs-de-lis burnt.

Emporer Caesar it seems we haven't discussed our future in this world. Hannibal is interested in a trade of my Saltpeter for his Wine, I would guess Wine would make Americans happier but then there maybe over options. What say you?

Emporer Tokugawa the peaceful, I am clearly jealious of your leadership, I bet your people are please. Our past discussions of trade had been appreciated and I hope my offerings were adequate but it has been a long time. Now I see we still trade in goods of Our Ivory for Japan's Incense well this is fine enough but as I said previously, my people are so unhappy, would you consider I withdraw my Ivory but you continue the shipments of your Incense, I say this because and I'm only guessing but your people may only miss them a little due to all the other goodness going on within your empire. What say you?

I say. It is not your worries to quell America's people, But Diplomacy is just Diplomacy.:coffee:

The Great Emperor demands the American leader not to mistake goodnes for cringingness.

First of all this is not the platform for negotiations an secondly, if you have other use for your luxuries, then you have to make an appropriate offer for mine, but not such subtle theatening. The American campain against France is endangering our spice deliveries already.

Hey,

"Turn the radio off Hira mou Iztal. Abe is making a address & I
know what its about already."
He turned and began to write
a letter to his friend Abe.

Lincoln addresses leaders of these lands

First of all this is not the platform for negotiations...

I thought the address was on a radio seeing that it wasn't really
negotiations. Just a American leader putting the blame on Japan
for the low standard of living in America. Asking infront of the his
people for Japans help in this dire matter. Then waiting for a reply
from the Great Emperor of Japan. If Japan turns Abe down then
it looks to the American citizens that Japan is the problem.

You know storyline/Propaganda stuff. :D

PS I tell you what. I watch the questioning of the Britsh Prime Minister last night by the
House of Commons(?). Wow. Dark days ahead. :shake:

Hawklord in a speech to the senate 1220 AD

It seems that we need to remind the Mayans that the worthless Arabs were three times the size of peaceful Rome when I came to power. They constantly attacked us to steal our resources and would not talk peace. They are no more. Such will be the fate of any other nation that thinks they are big enough to stamp all over Rome.

The Americans offer trade but we have no resources that they require, we would be pleased to trade with them should they be interested in making other arrangements.

The tension between Carthage and Rome has all but gone due to our new understanding and our good relationship with Japan has never been better. Both of these stem from the Aggressive stance of the Mayans over unclaimed resources.

I know many of you are not happy to be trading with the bloodthirsty Mayan priest king after the supposed accidental marine landing on our shores and reports of many human sacrifices on the slopes of the Mayan temples reach our ears daily. However, Rome must make one last attempt at keeping the peace.

And do not forget the Mayans are very good at posturing but have yet to prove their worth in battle against anybody. While we have many heroes from the glorious punishment of the forgotten Arabs.

Wow, cringingness? My message has no intent of you bending or cringe to America or subtle threats. This is my effort to realign negotiations openly to you and all else that would apply. For an example Japan and Rome have an agreement of protection correct? I would like Carthage’s wine. But all I have to offer him is saltpeter which he wants sure enough. I do not care if he gets saltpeter but Rome just might. I do not know if America's Ivory is a suitable trade for Carthage’s wine. But I trade it currently with you. And simply canceling our trade agreement (within the games diplomacy parameters) would at best be bad for relations without prior discussion.

I have a common vocabulary and a common depth of getting my point understood. But clear enough the MPPs within this game, Rome/Japan, Mayan/Carthage, Mayan/America vs France, one must walk/talk with a cautious step or a War will encompass the Globe. And just like you I want to win this game. It is sad that trade exists with France. America’s campaign on France may yield an extra resource I would be willing to depart with. As for “an appropriate offer for mine” I have done that here, It is not putting my extra Saltpeter in the hands of your allies neighbor. So there it is. Is this now an acceptable platform for negotiations?

What is this my Friend and Ally?:wavey:

I am not for one second blaming Japan or anyone else for the unrest in America. The citizens of America are simply dealing in a way normal for a country at war. I simply as a leader need to do all that I can to ease their discomfort as the war with France will continue until the added luxuries are in America's using. This also true if another great leader sides with France.:coffee:

Times change and what was good in the beggining can and should be revised as current needs have changed:smoke:

Hey,

Holy Cats all I wanted to do was write a good storyline.

Blaze Injun

Don't get we wrong guys. You started with some kind of role playing here. I just want to add my part. Maybe I am not good at this but anyhow, to clarify this:

I am not addressing any of the players as persons here with my words. I am here as the leader of the civ I am playing. Of course all of us are here to win this game.

And with the wrong platform for negotiations I meant the forum. i want to do such things in the hidden and announce it after it's done. Asking me to give up a lux but to continue delivering mine in the open can't lead me to do this. Next day everybody knocks at my door to get my resources for nothing.

Again, please do not feel offended by my words. As Blaze mentioned, it's part of a storyline. And this one is quite interesting, actually.

Hey,

Not offended at all. This is great. I have never played a game with you
but if this is the way you can write then I hope this will turn into more
games. :D

I love it & what high tension for just a few moves in a pc game.
I mean the moves are done in every game we have ever played
but just the way WE All are playing the storyline along is Amazing!!!!

And seeing that this PBEM is 4 years old & we are but the last of a long
line of leaders I think this is one of the best I have played in & I'm very
happy to have players like you Calis & you Hawklord with me for this
ride.

Lordy I need to get to my turn. :p

Diplomacy is grand at most every level. I enjoy a storyline as well but lack creativity although I do try to look deep into the situation at hand and simple state that this game is thick with, how can i say, bends and twists of each leaders said role in winning a game for themselves.
I agree that hidden dealings(then claimed later) is normal but there is an added dimension here, which is i guess in a way alliances that span across the ocean with others that may inhibit another alliance progress. To be clear Rome and Carthage may have good standings now but if Carthage had gunpowder units in the near future would it remain so. And in truth if you were to openly take a hit of luxuries for an Ally's cause Your Ally would see this as a great gesture on your part and furthermore aid you without question. But hiding this would not yield the same effect.
I understand your feeling that others would come knocking at your door, but I am sure you are giving all that you can and all that you have extra to benefit your people which would leave nothing to be extorted

:hmm: it seems France has Conscript Riflemen now. Yet Rouen falls.:spear: Nine French workers captured today in their fields and these Riflemen fight well enough to start promoting American Army's at last a better fight. Long live France for that reason, now all she needs is some :commerce:

Due to the war between America and France, Japan suffers a severe loss due to not getting spices anymore [pissed].

Right now, Japan can't afford to lose a further source of luxuries.

And furthermore, I am 100% sure that Carthage won't deliver one of their luxs for only one lux from America. I would expect them to ask for three of your luxuries.
