LOUISIANA ELECTIONS. New Orleans, Empire of Louisiana. The eruption of war between Virginia and Georgia has played a major part in this years elections. The maintenance of peace became a prime issue. Many argued that the ongoing affair in the east was an act of aggression by Virginia, not Georgia, and therefore not a concern of Louisiana. The Liberal Party ran on a platform of peace and stability, and remaining neutral in the conflict.. The Conservatives claimed that should Louisiana not take a stand now, Georgia will overrun the continent. However, the people of the empire have spoken and have stated that they do not want war, voting in the Liberal Party once more. (+2 Stability)
PENNSYLVANIA ELECTION. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As in Louisiana, the elections in Pennsylvania this year were dominated by the rising crisis in Tennessee. The outbreak of war has divided the formerly ruling moderate coalition very quickly. The Socialists and Liberals have united in a pacifist move hoping to prevent the outbreak of major war. To the right, a rising conservative movement has formed, calling for full UNSA involvement and confrontation with the Georgian threat. In a surprisingly militarist move, perhaps spurred by rising pro-French sentiment in New Jersey, the Pennsylvanian people have voted in the Conservative Party on a war platform. (-1 Stability)
NEW FRANCE ELECTIONS. New Caen, Republic of New France. The government of New France had their elections this year, and the conservatives very easily and clearly dominated the event. MILITARY SEIZES POWER IN DESERET. Bringhamton, Deseret. A troubled country, Deseret has faced yet another coup this year as reactionary Mormon forces within the military seized power. The military has been mobilized to maintain order in the larger gentile regions of the nation, and several non-Mormon leaders within the military have been imprisoned by the new government.
A NEW WAR ERUPTING? Nashville, Tennessee. New clouds of a possible global war seem to be emerging within North America. Investigation by Tennessean authorities into the Klannist uprising last year have resulted in confirmation that the uprising was sparked by local Ku Klux Klan agitators and leaders. These leaders were tracked to have fled into exile in Georgia following the failure of the rebellion, and were in absentee sentenced to death for treason. This was followed with raids by the Hunters into Georgia, assassinating these leaders of the Klan. Several members of the Hunters were captured by Georgian authorities while trying to reenter the Tennessean border. In response to the activity of Tennessean military forces within their borders, the Georgian government launched a full invasion into Tennessee. In response, prepared Virginian forces launched their own offensive into the country, seizing Nashville and rallying the support of much of Tennessees army. The Tennessean government has recognized Virginian support, though a small part of the military has declared its support for the Klannists and joined in battle alongside Georgia. The fighting has continued to escalate as Virginian and Georgian military forces clash along the Tennessee River. The Virginian army has managed to push back the Georgian forces, but at great cost as the fighting continues to escalate. The response from foreign governments has been almost immediate. Both New England and France have declared neutrality and have called for a negotiated peace as soon as possible. Elements of the Virginian and Georgian governments have been quoted as being eager for the war, hoping to decide dominance of the region in a final manner. Other governments have issued similar desires for peace, but whether stability and tranquility will be returned to Tennessee is still and unknown.
