It looks like I'm holding my own against TheMontyInTeam over in America, but hasn't he taken one of my cities? I appear to have lost New York from him.

Yeha, I noticed that reading the recap but did not notice playing the game. Seams they have swapped cities.
 
Ironic that Neal is stuck in the city that always gives him hell in the KotW series. However, you're going to want to culturally reinforce against Calcutta, Mad. If Neal's city wins the culture war for that tile 2 NE of Bombay, you're going to have to open borders with him to have access to the subcontinent. (Well, I suppose you could ferry troops via Galleon.)

Bomaby and Pataliputra both are going to have to produce some culture, no doubt Neal will be producing all the culture buildings he can in that city while building up troops.

Yeah, the AI doesn't do too well with what is the best plot in the game. Mostly because it doesn't rush early and Louis isn't the best warrior in Europe. He usually sells out or gets nailed by Cathy after building the Great Wall. :mischief:

RP>rifling>Chem>Steel sounds good, but I'd go for communism ASAP after that. SP is huge on this map (pun intended ;) ). In the end it really comes down to :hammers:, even though SP will do wonders for your :science: as well when you have a monster empire.

A shorter segment here, more of a buildup if you like.

Techpath was rather simple, with a simple goal: Replaceable Parts/Rifling/Chemistry/Steel

Yep, excess specialists with representation. Thus future captured cities can be expnaded via a free artist. We also built the Forbidden Palace in Delhi, anticpating a need of a good central city for "Future Acquisitions".

Which is really what I needed. I started drafting rifles 5/turn, stopped when all cities were drafted, and restarted after 15 rounds.

At this point we finished steel and decided to save as we consider the mobilization of our forces against Persia.

Given Persia's preference for Dps we sheacked diplomacy out first

W decided to research Communism for that valuable State Property civic and at the same time shake things up a bit by bringing a war ally

Since Insanity X is a fan of representation, we got to be on friendly terms by the end of the segment. Hey, even a war-mongering A$$hole like me needs a friend, at least for a while!

Our two armies start by easily clobbering Loki

Also I am running about 50% science slider.

We also popped the next GP, a great engineer. I automatically think, "Great, now I can get Mining INc" forgetting the SP thing. So we let him sit and wait until we get another GP to spawn off a GA.

Meanwhile we finished off 2 things.

Off course we immediately revolt to SP, creating 2 turns where I do not have to pay the militaries salary!

Loki had a few nice wonders waiting for us, but too bad he didn't have the Great Wall.

At this point, all future GGs we settled in 2 pacific coast cities, looking to eventually build a mighty navy there.

We also claimed lands in the north although we are under a littel culture pressure from our good friend Insanity X.

We also popped a GS which we used to start another Golden Age. The only problem is we were 1 turn too early because

He also had a real nice city way north that is simply in my way. But to get to that city, one of Loki's cities were in my way.

Now we have a clear path. By the way, I pretty much ignored Loki now as he was rather impotent and had nothing I really wanted. He can die later, at our earliest convenience.

Now point to discuss about the combat line promotion which we followed.

THAT is a rather large Arab counter attack. We weakened it with a few cannons then simply tore it to shreds with out cavalry and rifles. The only issue is that we had to wait a few turns to heal before hitting Mecca properly.

And simply because I felt I wanted to, I thought it was time to take over the Japanese home islands too.

Next, helping with the specialists we were trying to run under reprentation. By the way, we have several academies now and never had to build one!

DaveMcW has a really problematic culture city in the Jerusalum area that I think needs to go, as well as BandoBras Took's remaining cities in Arabia. We can use our navy later on to take out Australia and east Africa.

Sian of Germany is probably our biggest threat as I fear he will have Panzers by the time we hit Europe. Nothing to be done about it, just make sure I have either artillery or advanced flight.

Also, Semirami has the AP so I am thinking to make quick work of Greece and raise the damned thing. It is of no use to us.
 
Only Domination wins??? Bah, I plan to exterminate the entire Civfanatics community for a Conquest win!
