[UXP] Legends of Revolutions

Sorry if this issue already have been addressed, but I've noticed in 0.9.6 light that Bolivar LH sometimes causes CTD.
 
Still trying to figure out why it does that. I do know that it seems to be specific to only some peoples computers. For instance it doesnt do it to me.

I think then it worth to mention this bug in mod description.

Also I want to mention that for now airplane unit granted for free on discovery of Flight (IIRC tech) seems to be redundant because it cannot be produced and didn't used anywhere else except that one free bonus. I suppose free airplane could safely be replaced with free normal biplane.

Not really. We know how to keep it from happening (revert back to original download of LH). But I want to try to figure out why my optimizations of it is having this effect as I have litteraly done the same thing to over 1000 other things in the art. Its getting changed back to the original next version, but hopefully I can fiure it out and keep the one I have in it now.

Theres nothing wrong with the heavy cruiser paint job, besides being really dark. Several of those industrial ships are fairly crappy looking but thats not going to change. Thats a massive job to reskin those ships. As far as thier colors go, they are most likiely spot on. The guys that made those ships were sticklers for accuracy. Only thing lacking on them is detail, which is something that is really hard to do.

That's exactly what I mean: they're too dark. Ship painting (in real life) should make them hard to spot on sea, that's because they have that specific grey color. Heavy cruiser and destroyer escort is definitely lack that well-known military vessel painting. Even at Russian-Japanese war japanese ships already used that painting (and russian ships does not yet).

But to make them just less dark probably won't take that much time?
 
To make them less dark, no that would be simple. But the thing all the ships in the DB is that they were modeled after specific ships in real life. That means the creators made them look fairly close to what they did in real life. Besides there are many ethnic variants of each ship and the only one that I have seen that could use correcting (made lighter) is the aforementioned default heavy cruiser. Ill put it in my to do list but its probably going at the bottom of that list.

That doesn't make any sense. This is a known bug in a prior version, why would I list bugs of old versions that are fixed? I fixed them for a reason.

I really doubt that in real life they've been painted dirty-dark :rolleyes: After all modders probably didn't have many coloured photos of those ships :crazyeye:

That comment explains a lot because i've tried only light version of mod without ethnic versions :) Default DE and heavy cruiser both looks suspiciously dirty as opposed to all standard BTS industrial navy.

Ill put it in my to do list but its probably going at the bottom of that list.

That's still better than nothing ;)

Sorry, I've missed the point that bug fixed at 0.9.7.
 
OK, I have added the bullet to the 0.9.7 changelog. In my mind it was covered under the "Minor adjustments to Leaderheads", And "repacked art" bullets; but that's just because of the way I a dev views things, and especially since this was a machine specific bug (most users did not experience any problems on viewing the Bolivar and Francis leaderheads, it must be something specific to certain graphics cards). I can see though your point that it should be explicitly noted in the changelog, so I have done so.
 
So how come y'all got rid of Franz I of Austria in 0.9.7? And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Israel also in 0.9.6? That might be another LoR-like mod. For the Inca flag, I've got a suggestion for future versions: make it a rainbow :p The Inca flag was a rainbow that they carried into battle. It is still the flag of Cuzco today. Personally, I'd rather the sun, though, because the rainbow is a bit...gay.
 
Yet another very minor issue, but it still counts. It's with the unit naming mod, which I really like. If you have defined that gun units be named "^cntu[o]^ Infantry Division", for example, and you draft some riflemen, the drafted units won't respect the convention established in the unit naming mod.

I'm pretty focused on some other issues at the moment. I will add this to my to do list, but it may take a while before I get around to it, it will be low priority for now. If you wanted to help move things along you could post your issue in the BUG forums, and get some help there (this is what I'll end up doing anyway). Once you (with some help from members of the BUG team) get a working fix going for LoR, I'd be happy to include it in the next update.
 
In my game the global warming mod doesnt work, i played till 2070 (comparing screens from 1700) but no tile changed, it seems the global warming is disappeared totally.

i play in small map, and rising seas is enabled...

This actually makes sense to me based on my knowledge of the global warming modcomp that was merged in. I have forwarded your report to the RevDCM project as it makes more sense to tackle it from there, if this is indeed true? BTW, can you get global cooling to work (global cooling should happen from launching lots of nukes)? If that component at least works, then the merge was done successfully and I'm pretty sure I know why the warming aspect isn't happening.

Actually i've tried to launch many IMBC, global cooling doesn't seem to work :nuke:

Maybe i should try to launch more, but since now any difference... i know it depends from RevDCM modcomp.

LoR + working GW Mod would be COMPLETE imho ;)

I've been loving this mod for a long time now, but I wanted to chime in on the subject of many of the industrial and modern era units being ugly. It's mostly the ships and tanks that get to me. I know it would be a ton of work to make them look good, but as an alternative, I think it would still be a huge improvement to just go back to the base game defaults instead of ethnic overrides? For instance it seems like almost every ethnic group overrides the tank and modern tank models, when the defaults are far more attractive in most cases.

I don't mind it when global warming doesn't happen, it means for me that I don't have to worry about Earth becoming Mars ;)
