[FfH II Art Team Blog]

I was thinking of maybe doing 4 different druid variants - one for each season, that could be divided among the human factions to give more variety. I kind of scrapped the idea, but not before I made a ton of different hair and clothing palette swaps. Check the .psd included in that download. Maybe you can do those additional versions

So, all I have to do is switching the psd, saving the appropriate combination of hairs and clothings, and reskin the druid into winter druid, summer druid etc? Consider it done! :mischief:

BTW, what is the difference between Druid and Priest of Leaves? Shouldn't they are the same?

The first is reskinned Archmage with Banshee dds. The second one is reskinned Ljos Mage with Svart Mage dds. Still doesn't know which one is better for Svart arcane line.
The first one looks arcane; I'd say use that as the Archmage. The second one looks more divine...perhaps it could be adapted for use as a Svartalfar Druid.

*Grabs the Ice Mage unit and runs away* MINE you cant have her!!!! :shifty:

Thanks :D never had the talent for art - when I do it they either look like stick figures or pixel monster..., I will be adding her to my modular mod as a basic healing unit for the Illians.

Well, so far my magic touch only work in reskinning magic (arcane and disciple) units. Never managed a reskin of any kind of warriors, archers etc. So, feel free to request any other magic units. I got several days off until year-end :rolleyes:

The Svart already have a great druid graphic. What other unit might use the second graphic, I wonder... Too bad Esus does not have a priestess...

Well, the one thing I found strange about the Svart druid is that it is a HE. Pretty strange in a strict matriarchal society.

But still, a good graphic IMHO. :D

Where is it mentioned that they have a matriarchal society? I think their melee line is male, and their hero certainly is.

Will Ljosalfars ever get a new Champion model? Or at least, switch the current swordsman model to the champion, and chuck the champion down the nearest toilet. It looks so bad, I don't even wanna upgrade my units now. :(

I know, It really does look horrible. I'm thinking if I ever get around to it, I'd do them kind of like the high elven warriors in LOTR: Two Towers. With a massive nodachi, light, slender armor, pointed helmet, etc. The ljos paladin model is actually pretty close to that already.

The Svart champions are female, but they are not purely female dominated like the D&D Drow. Males can and do get to a position of leadership, it is just that the women are more adept in the ways of Esus...

Kael answer is (taken from here):
Spoiler :

There are a few civs in Erebus that treat the sexes equally (the Doviello probably being the best example). The Svartalfar are on the female preference side of the scale. Its not that they are strictly matriarchical, anymore than our societies are patriarchical, just that there is a general tendancy to favor females in more powerful positions.

The army is actually a mix of males and females (though we play up the female roles on the unit models because it gives the svar a distinct flavor and graphical distinction). But in more prestegious positions you are more likely to see more and more females (captains, priestesses, mages, immortals, etc).

The Svartalfar have an indentured servent caste that the bankrupt could fall into. It would be extremely rare to find a woman in this caste. Most of those are hired or find a position well before dropping this far. Those few that do will usually choose suicide or flee from the community before accepting such a degrading position. There isnt as much stigma for a male indentured servent.

Further discussion about this should go to the Lore forum, IMHO ;)

By the way, here are several religious units : Paramander, Dwarven priest of Kilmorph, Elven priest of Leaves and Priest of Empyrean. Download here.

While it is terribly sad, I have to admit that I failed in reskinning Lanun arcane line as planned above. Ten times I tried to reskin, and that many times I have failed.

I drastically change the plan. Instead of making the units more sinister as their arcane power progressed, I made the units more alluring! And the result is...

Nice work, both on these and the new religious units you've just uploaded. If you'd like to make another go at a sinister and wizened unit, might I suggest the Mary Mobius unit as a base? The model is bent over in a hunch, which would be suited to an elderly person, and it's not attractive to begin with.

Thanks! These Great Prophet reskins were the most jarringly boring art in FfH.

I'd switch the looks of Ljosalfar Champions and Immortals.

BTW, does anyone but me notice that attempting to make a unit with an ArtDefine from Vanilla in FfH results in a crash on load?

Hey there.
I finally found some hours to work on Art again :)

..........We need linkies. :drool:

I guess I'll be playing Kurios soon. :lol:

Nice. I think I'd prefer it if their fur was not pure white though, at least not for every level. I'd think brown with white spots or a white underside might be better for the hunter and ranger. The Assassin I'd make largely black.

Will these be UUs, civ-based unique graphics, or racial-promotion-based unique graphics?

Yaaaay! Welcome back SeZ (however temporarily), and a very merry belated christmas to you :D

/don't mind me, I'll just be doing the Happy Dance over here :dance:

Merry Christmas

I recognise that animset. It's undoubtedly aztec jaguar. I've personally used it a little. The bowed neck is a dead giveaway

Before I forget, major congratulations to Kirb for finishing the Druid (Confucious, he says "bye bye"). What's the next project? The Ljosalfar or Khazad Champion? Meshabber of Dis? Something completely new?

Also Esvath, woah, just...woah. Seriously dude, I have no doubt that with a bit of work you'll be on par with SeZereth & Warkirby in no time :D

I actually have a little request. Could you knock up some units for the Hippus recon line?

/seriously, they have an assassin but no hunter, what's up with that?

So, here is the complete Package of Kurio Recon Line,
Mustevals -> Animation

Scout, -> atec jaguar
Hunter, -> sumerian vulture
Ranger, -> atec jaguar
Assassin -> sumerian vulture
Beastmaser -> maceman (you might want to use the animations from the svartalfar beastmaster, as they should have the chain sound removed)

cheers
