CIV Gold!

I tried, and couldn't.

Sorry about my musical blathering, but does anyone know what Deganawida_Late is? I want the full version!

You know, I can't find anything in the Internet on that Haida leader you have in there... wouldn't Chief Koyah be a better choice?

The reason I didn't pick Koyah is because he wasn't actually a successful figure. He was the chief of a small village and lost his status shortly after meeting the English.

You may find more info under "Skidegate". I used the other spelling because that's how I had seen it in an older Haida source.

Here's a blurb:

He was named the Great because he was large in body and wealth, if not in good deeds . . . He was a man about six feet in height, had a very small head on an exceedingly large body, so large that a belt he wore round his waist could go around three ordinary sized men. He was the richest chief of his day. It is said he had thirty slaves, male and female . . . He also had all the neighbouring tribes under his tribute.

Here's an interesting book excerpt (hard to read though):

http://books.google.ca/books?id=pfi...AEwAw#v=onepage&q=Skidegate the great&f=false

It's clear we need a new Haida LH though.

I have been playing Civ IV for about 1 year and don't have a lot of experience with downloading files.

Does any of this work on a Mac CPU?

Yes, but the names will be goofed up. Take a look in the Mac forums. There is a thread on Mac-compatible mods that includes CIV Gold and a workaround to fix the text problem.

Wyz, and every one else that works on Mods... I got to say that I have mad respect and admiration for all you guys who stay commited to these things in spite of real life demanding your very valuable (and limited) time. Much appreciation to you guys for all you do for the game and for this community. :goodjob: :goodjob:

I want to echo this. For me (my friends & family as well), Civ Gold absolutely makes the game. If for some reason (on our end) we can't get the mod loaded, we usually just won't play. Civ Gold just adds that much fun to the game for us.

So from the smallest contributor to the top of the project chain, a heartfelt and huge THANKS!!!!

Hey, I download the newest civ gold today & installed. Then i started civ iv beyond the sword and loaded the civ gold mod but i still can't see any new civs or leaders. What is wrong and how do i fix this?

Thx,
Qolz

^You may have installed it into the wrong location somehow (it happens). Make sure there is a Civ Gold mod in the BtS mods folder, first, then if there isn't, then see if you can try to re-install it.

Okey i think i found out where the problem is... I started a game with a random civ and then while loading all these xml errors came up for all the leaders.

Tag: LEADER_KRUGER in info class was incorrect
Current XML file is: XML\Gameinfo/CIV4DiplomacyInfos.xml

Then the same error keeps coming for each leader.

Is there a fix for this?

^Try to see what happens when you don't select a random civ. If that thing happens still, re-install the mod and see what happens.

Also, Wyz, if you're still working on this thing, I have a number of Civ of the Week civs now that seem reasonably solid (i.e. they have my own custom LHs, woot), so if you're interested in adding them to CivGold... :)

This mod is so amazing thank you. except most of the LH's dont have music, witch is kinda lame. but o well. still rocks:goodjob:

This mod is so amazing thank you. except most of the LH's dont have music, witch is kinda lame. but o well. still rocks:goodjob:

As the music-man of CivGold, I originally made diplomusic for all the leaders in the game (for the older versions. 2.0, 3.0, and some of 4.0).

The problem was, eventually, that there were just so many civilizations and leaders that it was impossible to add more diplomacy music, simply because it would have been too much - the mod already takes a really long time to load with all that data, and we agreed that it would be in the best interests of everyone not to add diplomacy music.

Also, another thing is that the mod now is modular, and you can't have new diplomacy music with modular (well, you can, but that requires a little bit more modification to the game which this mod doesn't have).

Glad you like the mod anyhow. :)

Makes sense to me. The DL is already pretty huge (although PAKing was a great improvement - and an immense task to accomplish.)

Anywho, lest I forget, CIV Gold Team:

:newyear:

EDIT: Huhh, I just realized that there are this many new or better LHs. It will take some time to update the mod :)
Anyway, I will continue editing this post in the following few days...

Damn AR, you really did your homework. There' stuff on there I barely mentioned (like Cavour, Joshua etc.) and stuff in there that hasn't even been released yet! Good job man. I better watch what I say now though, now that somebody is listening. :mischief:

Told you. I was following all the LH threads closely since Wyz released Gold 5.0...
But I was thinking about this WIP section, because I noticed that u like to surprise us with new stuff for Diplomacy II.
And everyone else likes when u surprise them with a totally new LH :)
So if u want to, I'll take down that section (at least your part of the WIP section) for a couple more weeks, till u release some of those LHs!

EDIT: Since u gone offline by the time I posted this, I'll take them down till tomorrow. Then u can decide what is more important: advertising or surprise ;)
EDIT 2: Put them back on!

If you are going to replace the David LH and add a Solomon one as AR is suggesting.. I really like these a lot more than the one you listed AR.. But that's just my opinion, I don't know what everyone else thinks.

Anyways, I'd like to echo what some other people were saying in that the work you guys do is really appreciated. It really enriches the game and I'm sure I, or many other people for that matter would have lost interest in the game a long time ago. So thanks!

Those are really great LHs too, but they were made for Civilization III, and just static LHs (pictures) in Civilization IV, not animated leaders.
I think for Civ IV the best David and Solomon LHs are the ones i suggested...
