In light of this I pass The Second Oil Act. Any ally of mine who wishes to set up Oil drilling operations within my country automatically gets to at a extremely reduced tax (i.e. barely anything). As an ally they also will automatically be allowed to drill (though they should still submit a form).

As for everyone else, it stays the same. (i.e. anyone who wishes to set up Oil drilling operations in my country must submit a form to be approved, and there will be a tax put upon them for being foreign).

And Love, I accept your offer to drill here, and now I get to set up logging plants in Tajgan.
 
The council assembled and has agreed that allies will have access to areas in the Tajgan, where they can set-up logging industries. The tax will be almost infinite and the only restriction is the local environmental rules, which the workers must obey for the preservation of the forest.

Non-Allies can set up contracts with the council, but they will not have the same offer.
 
OOC: I think there should be a weekly "Update", so that our Roleplaying in this game isn't for naught, and that we know the general idea is going on. It would be awesome if this was in real time (I.G. Anything posted today would be 3/16/10 in the update).

Dude, is there actually one there in real life? I want to try and base this off of real geography, so not everyone can claim "I found a huge oil field here or there", I want to see it become an actually sought after resource.
 
Well it is not far fetched, as it used to be land bridge not to long ago.

Also IRL Papua New Guinea has tons of Oil surrounding it. If I can't claim it there, then I'll claim somewhere else near Papua New Guinea. (Or in Borneo)
 
Ukraine claims Brazil as a vassal state. They also deny the Land of Opportunity Act, as they feel the people of the Ukraine are under their control.

the Byzantine Republic has a huge source of oil. synthetic oil, it burns just liek the real thing, but is a bit more expensive to make.

you need to pay 50 dollars above the current price of oil per barrel though. and we have, as long as our energy last, an infinite amount.

the real oil is dwindling. i suggest that you consider buying synthetic oil. sorry but allies do not get a price cut.

(and you cant invent your own, synthetic oil is copyrighted by Byzantium in 1984. invent your own and ill sue you.)

I propose to the UN that the Byzantine Republic not have a monopoly on synthetic oil and back off suing anyone who invents there own.

stop being so mad. it makes you look immature. you have like 20,30 years of real oil left. you do not have to buy sythetic oil if you dont have to, but once the oil runs out, your screwed.

The New Californian Republic will collaborate with there allies to make there own synthetic oil and share the information to the rest of the world. There is no need to have a monopoly on synthetic oil.

LOL, you're goofy.
First off, inventions are patented not copyrighted.

Second off, patents don't last 26 years. So it's expired and anyone can use it.

Third, SYNTHETIC FUELS ARE FRICKING EVERYWHERE ALREADY. Ethanol and Bio-Diesel are already PROVEN technologies. And no, you can't patent them, ya goof!

Forth off, synthetic oils require energy to produce them (that's why they cost money) either directly from electricity/other conventional power sources, or in the molecules of plants used to make the synthetic fuels (which need to be grown, harvested, etc. It's not just insert money get energy, you actually have to have the energy already!

Fifth, even if you have something special, I don't care, I'll just come in with my stick and take it! :evil:

The threats of suing does not sit well with any other individual nations that want to peruse there own synthetic oil research and production. You cannot be the sole supplier of synthetic oil. Eventually other nations would make there own and perhaps would sell them cheaper than the Byzantium's prices. And $50+ the current price of oil per barrel is outrageously expensive!
