This will cause Britian's economy to collapse, their lifeblood is their colonies. If Britian falls then many smaller nations (like portugal) will be hurt too. Before the war they were the world's greatest economy, now they will be a union jack floating north of france. This is insane, I request that no more treaties are signed until France and Russia enter the conference.

You take away there military, when you take away their colonies, thus their economic output. Without a strong economy they will quickly find a large military unsustainable. Without colonies or a military Britian doesn't need to be a puppet state. Why would a giant make a puppet out of an ant?

Perhaps you should speak up as your well being has a direct effect on the economy of Portugal.But I am being counterproductive good luck to all parties.

Germany has had no knowledge of the forming of this 'peace conference' and it will not be held in Berlin. A German observer has been sent to this conference, but he has been instructed not to take part in the negotiations. Besides peace with England, which is being worked out separately between the members of the Quad Alliance and England, Germany will not be working out any other peace treaties for now. At the time that Russia and France agree to surrender to Germany, we will discuss peace, but not before then. If other members of the Entente who are at war with Germany, besides the two listed above, wish to make a separate peace with Germany and her allies, we are willing to discuss it.

I reread his orders, he mentioned nothing about going away on vacation, or anything. But, being such a major power his imput is obviously needed in recent developments.
My question is- if no word is heard from him by say.. Thursday, should I just take over his diplo from there, and hope for the best?

Yes, he must realize that there is more to this process then just orders. Especially when you are a main power at war.

We believe this treaty is too soft on Portugal. If any party wants an American signature, they had best convince us to do so.

That is totally rediculous, Spain and Germany (the only parties involved in actual combat with Portugal) have both signed the treaty. The United States has no reason to still be at war. Portugal shall no longer reconize a state of war with the United States, but when you are ready to end your state of war we will be be ready. We're waiting too.
- Perhaps the best agreements are those where neither party is happy.
