RevolutionDCM for BTS

Oh wow! Thanks Glider1! I'll check my installation, I probably do have more than one, I didn't think to check before I installed - oops! Thanks again for all of your work on this.

Hej,

I haven't played Civ for a couple of months and am now dying to try out BBAI 1.0 and Revolutions with multiplayer. What is the status with RevDCM and BBAI? Which BBAI is included in the lastest RevDCM, and when can I play them both? :)

Nice mod. It gives Civ a whole new feel. I have a question though. As I play, there are wider city bars, and I like the originals. How do I get them back?

Also, I'll assume the I Love Asphalt is included (but I have not got that far), but how would that be removed? Thanks for any help.

EDIT: And ALSO, is there a way to merge the Cultural Citystyles into RevDCM?

@Gavagai
Yes it would be exciting to try I agree. I'm a revolutions + BBAI enthusiast as well as assistant developer for these. BBAI 1.0 is already merged into RevDCM (EDIT: but only in the SVN) and a prerelease of 2.8 would be available on our SVN. The chief developer Jdog5000 has yet to tweak BBAI to work well with Revolutions and there could be bugs as well. Less than a month perhaps?

@Tagagi Hiro
Both your questions are BUG mod questions. Check out those forums. The entire RevDCM interface is essentially BUG except for a few specific differences like Revolutions user interaction as well as a few specific tweaks to get it to work for fifty civs. I personally do not know the answer to your question off the top of my head.

Cheers

EDIT: And ALSO, is there a way to merge the Cultural Citystyles into RevDCM?

There definitely is, as I am using both RevDCM and CC in my mod ;)

Actually there should be very little overlap, use WinMerge to find out which files overlap and identify what changes from CC (vs. regular BtS) to add to RevDCM.

Alright, thanks. The thing is, I know how to change it with just the BUG mod itself, but since it's seemingly fused with RevDCM, the menus don't follow the same. I just assumed RevDCM changed it around a bit, but maybe I just missed something important.

mamba: Oh oh oh, could you possibly guide me through it? I love both the mods, but I'm not computer smart, haha.

Use WinMerge as I said, that guides you through it ;)

I just looked at the comparison and here is what you need to do:

- use RevDCM as your base and add the following changes (from CC)

- merge the files which exist in both mods (only CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml)

Spoiler :

add the Inquisitor definition of RevDCM to the CC file and use the combined file going forward
Code:
				<Unit>
					<UnitClassType>UNITCLASS_INQUISITOR</UnitClassType>
					<UnitType>NONE</UnitType>
				</Unit>

If you want to, you can also add the ERA_FUTURISTIC which was added in CC's CIV4EraInfos.xml

- copy over all CC files that do not exist in RevDCM

Spoiler :
this obviously is all of CC Assets/Art and the following CC xml files : GlobalTypes.xml, CIV4ArtDefines_Building.xml, CIV4ArtDefines_Improvement.xml, Civ4CityLSystem.xml, CIV4PlotLSystem.xml (search them in CC and place them in the same Assets/XML subdir within RevDCM).

hi glider and everyone,

i wish to download the latest svn version, which to my understanding, includes bbai 101b,

but, im not sure how to do that - when i get in the svn source page, it seems that i need to download each of the sdk files, one by one - is there a way to download the whole package? without having the need to click on every single file.

i have a vague recollection of an svn program or something that can download the whol deal?

i would love for some help with this,

thanks in advance people.

Instructions incoming! :)

  1. Download TortoiseSVN (google it)
  2. Install it
  3. Create a folder with whatever name you want it to be
  4. Right-click it and you should find an option called SVN Checkout.
  5. Paste in the address Glider1 gave in the first post to his SVN, and click OK
  6. Wait until whole thing is downloaded
  7. Click OK
  8. Now right-click that folder again, and go to TortoiseSVN, and go to the submenu and go down to Export.
  9. Export to somewhere else in your machine.
  10. Now you have most updated RevDCM. Each time you need to update, just right-click that first folder and click TortoiseSVN Update.
Enjoy!

Any questions? Don't be afraid to ask.

@OS79
Thanks for helping out!

@Kel
Good idea, I will link OS79's post to the frontpage for others who want the potentially buggy SVN development versions.

@Cripp
Yes cripp very good observation about Goodyhuts. It has been fixed in version 2.722. Suggest you redownload to this latest version and reinstall RevolutionDCM.

Cheers

Minor Bug Report:

There is no CopyNonDefualt values for the new Revolution Building Effects.

Sorry, I am very new to adding mods and everything in Civ4 (BTS). I am a Mac user and I have downloaded and played a few stand alone mods, but I can't run the .exe installer file for RevDCM, which sucks because it looks ridiculously fun. Is there any way that I can still install or play it on my mac (without bootcamp or parallels)?

Mac users can not play with RevDCM or any other mod that use custom dll. Any time you see a mod that have CvGameCore.dll file in Nameofmod/Asset that mean Mac can not play it. Unfortunately, the company that made Civ4 for Mac did not allow that. Therefore, you need either a PC or a virtual PC to play thos mod and other mods with custom dll file.

This might be a common question but I jumped to the last page so I don't know if this has been questioned already or not.

Anyways, how do you increase the civ count from 11 to something (e.g. 20, 30, etc.)?

hi. love the mod, i'm currently playing it in Neoteric World modpack. i just have one problem, though. sometimes i select siege weapons or warships and the ranged bombardment button is not there. i have to use CTRL+ALT+O , disable ranged bombardment, exit options, reenter options, enable ranged bombardment, and then de-select and re-select the siege weapon. i think it might be happening with other mod features (like the "Enables bombers to bomb city buildings and other missions" feature, which i never seem to be able to use), which leads me to believe that i might be missing some cool features. any thoughts?
