IOT Developmental Thread

The bolded part should be changed to "Hold an army of 20 Million and conquer the Ottomans."

And usually, that's what he says. Why isn't he banned too?

nope. if i am to conquer the ottomans, it will be a long, painful war. easily lasting hundreds of years. i only have 40,000 people and 4,000 military people. that's not enough to even defend effectively.

i will gradually grow my nation to 500,000, maybe more of Joe lets me, over time.

i do not even want to power-game in that nation. ill be a city state and ill be tiny but important. come on i wanted to be a city state since IOTIV. now i have a chance.

(note: Constantinople defenses inflate the number by ten, roughly, until the invention of artillery, someone once said that the walls can stand up relatively well to cannon balls, but artillery just rip it to pieces.)

Now, to go back to what was supposed to be discussed.

I think we should go with the HOI2 map, I want to say EUIII, but I think it's too heavily weighted towards Europe and the ROTW gets kinda left out.

(posting is re-allowed btw, I'm caught up)

What if we combined EU3's Europe with HOI2's everywhere else?

sounds fair, but since ill be a city state, ill need to start off horribly on purpose. unless you dotn want that to happen. in the 1400s or 1500s, Constantinople was in bad shape.

i had the entire country Bio ready for the 1453 AD start...

I think they had a bit more than Constantinople... but whatever, City-States are cool.

Really, It doesn't matter since we're not having pre-fab countries/historical borders.

Actually, I think I'll call another vote:

Historical borders, YES OR NO?

Advantages of historical borders:
- A more historically accurate experience.

Disadvantages of historical borders:
- Ruins the feel and premise of IOT, which allows you to create your own countries.
- Restrict what we can do in terms of tech level, economy, combat etc.
- Different players start at different levels. It's fine for people who take large advanced countries like Ming, France, England, Castile, Ottomans, but what about those who post later and get weaker countries?

It's a NO from me.

Historical Inaccuracy is my middle name.

Call in the mods if you like. I'm responding to this.

Omega- Actually, as far as I'm concerned, you guys are now officially discussing a new IOT game, and we're discussing the official one.

@Omega- Since your making a spinoff anyway (according to them), you can do whatcha want, though I'm not sure if that's Medieval or Modern.

Domination3000- I only was telling some people not to join if I was banned FOR NO REASON! If I was banned for breaking the rules, I would not do such a thing. For instance, if Omega bans me from IOT V, for a good reason, I'll accept it. If there's no reason whatsoever, I'll do the same thing I did here.

Also, you cannot ban anyone, as the game hasn't started, therefore, IOT is no longer here.

Mad Man- Oh Please!

1. He even GMed a game.

2. It was one freaking post! For fun! Yes, he did some stupid things with John Kerry in IOT IV/IOT II, but he did it one time and didn't pretend it affected anything. It was more humorous then real powergaming (Please don't do it again though, its only funny once.)

Yeah, ban whoever you like, without cause. I'll still be joining IOT V, you guys can have your nonsense spinoff.

You know what, Dommy? According to the Taiwanese, the PRC is a spin-off, and Taiwan is real China.

You aren't gonna let the guy who goes around insulting and/or kicking people in the balls into your ping pong tournament, are you?

This is completely distracting from the voting process. Take it to your visitor pages already!

-Omega (discussing games outside of IOT, almost saved by this post , but then went on to spam some more)

Oh yes, of course, because trying to defend someone from a mob of haters and then trying to create IOT V because you haven't posted in weeks and we were going nowhere fast most definitly counts as spam. What was I possibly thinking yesterday? Surely my honor has been completely flushed down the toliet, and I must pay by not playing this game.

The game lost all legitimicy anyway.

Omega, I promise you I will not do this to your thread, but this one deserves nothing but for me to keep defending myself.

And no, I won't take it to VM.

EDIT: They banned Mad Man, a former GM, as well, for ONE POST! They have no legitimacy. I recognize Omega's game as IOT V.

Moderator Action: Trolling. If you don't like the thread, the quit posting in it!

Domination, being in a thread you're clearly stating you have no interest in other than to spam it with more insults and arguments is just that - spam. Leave it out.

Domination grow up please. Stop Posting in this thread you are not helping this thread at all. Just leave.

-My 2 Cents worth

Now Seriously
~
I'll vote 1453 :)

No, and 1453.

Also, Joe, if it's not too much trouble could you update the front page to show which ideas got passed and which ones didn't?

Domination- stop posting in this thread. You are harassing us. I've already reported one post of yours, don't make me report another.

Actually I have a Proposition!

Alright.

So Basically, If you Do not have a Territory which touches the Ocean you can't expand across an Ocean.

So To make it clearer.
An Example

If your only Provence is in Paris. You cant Expand Into Say Morocco unless you have a Provence which Touches the ocean, Say Bordeaux.
This seems like a Problem]in TF's NES. IOT

If I were playing I would agree with you.

i agree. also we should have a size limitation as to what you can claim relative to your mainland.

say if you own Istanbul province, you shouldn't claim all of Nigeria.
