I have found that ALOT of different civ's special abilities havent been revealed, I want to know why. This brings up how alot of info about the Civs have been left out. Like the character videos on the CiV site page. And how we dont know what some of the civs' special abilities do. Why is this? Please comment similiar questions and incoming info.

Here are some related links:

The ones we don't know are the alphabetically last civilizations so they are not shown in preview pics. Exceptions like Rome and Songhai were stated as examples.

Wasnt exactly talking about pics, I was talking about the videos, UA, ect.

Oh, I thought River Warlord was confirmed as a combat bonus for attacking along rivers. Must have just been speculation.

I guess it is unfortunate that none of these previewers could just scroll down.

I am really, really, really hoping he can sail naval ships up rivers

I dont think so. I think that they will be able to cross rivers and attack over rivers with out any negative points, or possibly a bonus.

Huh? Rivers are between tiles not on tiles so this is litterally impossible. Not to mention that if it was possible, it would be a large gameplay feature and incredibly unlikely to be constraint to a something as specific as a UA.

I'm willing to bet you a cent against me eating my own face that that isn't the case.

Probably true, but you could sail on rivers in the Chinese unification scenario.

That's a great screenshot! Siberian riches sounds powerful, and the Japanese power is odd, because so far I've had the impressive that all units fight as though they were at full strength even when damaged. Persian power seems good, especially early on, but the % bonus means its good all through the game. The Songhai power is kind of random.

Where are those from? Because... they don't look like any 'leader screen' that we've seen. They don't even show the UU/UB icons, nor the civ icons.
And the Japanese power screams fake/mistake to me. Every time we see units fight, they fight at full strength, even when damaged. Every. Single video

Hmm, I already guessed siberian riches would give additional resources but double horses, iron and uranium ? If this is legit than Russia might be a bit too strong. We already know from one article the Krepost replaces barracks. A very early military UB and double strategic resources looks unbalanced to me.
And Persia seems pretty weird, but I guess with multiple ways to get several golden ages per game it's pretty powerful.
If this is indeed real than the only abilites we're still missing are Barbary Corsairs and Father governs Children.

Heh, that screenshot states that Catherine is leader of the Russians, not leader of Russia like the other leaders in that screenshot are refered to with their country. ;)

Screenshoot comes from preview version my collegue was doing. He answers our questions on other board and that was mine (special abilities). It is as legit at it can be at this level of development.

@ Mercade

Indeed it is, initially I was typing from memory, later I recieved confirmation I am allowed to post this screenshot in.

Other intersting screenies:

I am kinda suprised noone here sends any extra info my mates have been asking 1000s of questions ;o

Okay, well I believe you now, but none of those abilities look very well designed. Especially River Warlord: you would think with a name like that it would actually have something to do with rivers! Frankly, I hope those aren't the final abilities.

Apart from the weird name for Askia I can see loads of potential in all of them. My only concern is overpowered Russia but maybe there are game mechanics we are not fully aware of. From what I read, maitanance of units is kinda heavy burden so maybe having double strategic resources does not automaticaly equal world conquest.
