Problem is that CFC usernames are unchangable (except in rare cases), while you can change your Steam ID at a whim...

Same here. I use the same alias for everything internet related since I was diagnosed Alzheimer's disease. It really helps me remember who the **** I am on-line.

Woulnt it be possible to just add in a plug in or modify one to appear like any other chat client?I don't think the vb software has such a feature.
I put mines in the web address section since there is no option for it like the other chat clients (MSN, Skype, etc).

vbulletin allows to create custom profile fields - so its a matter of the admins creating a new field...

I think this would be an excellent idea too. I don't care whether or not it is viewable on your posts or just in the profile, whatever CFC's admins want to do. Adding by e-mail works, but I have no interest in just handing out my e-mail.

Done. It will only be visible in people profiles ("About me" tab), and you can edit it via the Edit Profile section of "My Account".
