Queen of the Iceni

Good to see the moding of civ5 has already started!:goodjob:

I haven't picked up my copy of civ5, but I have a question for you Kael. You mentioned that you were using the Elizabeth leader graphics until you find a way to replace them with 2d art. I can't help but ask what format are the 3d files in anyway? .nif or some other one? I normally wouldn't clog up your thread with such a question but looked around the forum for an answer to this question but couldn't find it.

Continuing my last game, just throwing it out there: Battle Fury + mech infantry is pretty sick. Mech Inf alone seems pretty godly in CiV, having the same str and movement as a tank, just without the oil cost. Kinda weird considering they aren't that far higher up on the tech tree than tanks, but whatever. Anyways, the point is, mech inf + BF seems just as good/bad as knights in the earlier game did - taking 40 str cities in one turn with one unit

Also, not sure if it's a fixable thing related to the single unit graphics part of this mod, but Tanks seem a mite big, and Battleships are absolutely tiny (about 1/4 the size of a Destroyer.) I keep confusing my Battleships with embarked infantry :)

Now if I can get the mod to download... :(

How do you mean it won't download? You click the file to download and nothing happens?

Those are easily fixable, I'll change both in the next patch.

And a Mech Infantry shouldn't have battle fury, that must have been upgraded from a gun or Melee unit. I'll block the second attack ability on upgrades. While Im in there Ill block the Gaelic Warrior and Sons of Morrigans special abilities on upgrade too.

Yeah, they were all upgraded from infantry

On a side note, for anyone using this or other mods.. Apparently if you upgrade a mod, autosaves (but not normal/quicksaves!) will not allow you to load due to "this game being incompatible with currently selected mods"... Bleh, there goes 75 turns of me not bothering to save the real way to a crash ^ ^

Do you know just how difficult it is to modify art assets if you are not artistically inclined?
Yeah, I'm not very artistically inclined either. Not saying the mod is bad because of this, just that I won't play it, since I think it ruins the immersion.

No stress, you want your addons to match what Firaxis has done. I understand. We probably won't have community generated leaderhead scenes like that for a long time.

Lovely Mod, thank you Kael.

While I've posted this problem in the bugs forum, perhaps someone else playing with mods can address or shed some light on this-

There are approximately 16+ mods right now. I've installed three and am able to play them. (Kael's mods and the clock mod) I can save my progress as well.

The problem is if I leave the game after saving, then try to reload it...the Load button won't activate and it says instead that the selected saved game is not compatible with the enabled mods. The mods are downloaded, installed and enabled. I can load games that are not using mods.

I've tried auto, manual, and cloud saves.
I've then tried varied enabled combinations of the three mods,
all with the same inability to load a saved game.

I know at least one other person is having this problem via the steam forums.

Has anyone else experienced this? Modders obviously would have to be able to save and load, and certainly many people have been utilizing the mods.

I'm using Win7 64-bit, ATI 4870x2, AMD Phenom II X4 945, 4g.

In my testing SimpleClock breaks the ability to reload mods. Try removing it, creating a new game with just Legions and Queen of the Iceni and see if you can save and load normally.

Followed your instructions, works perfectly, thank you very much for the reply.
( I obviously didn't exhaust the possible combinations! )

Update: I deleted Simple Clock, I only have Kael's mods installed and enabled, and I am able to create NEW games, save the progress, and load those saves. ( thanks again, Kael )
Thought I'd mention it since others here and in the Steam/2K forums are still having troubles after deleting Simple Clock and trying to use other mods.
A fix has been created and will be in the next patch.

Can this mod be uploaded to the CFC Database?

I will if the installer issues aren't resolved soon. I want to give Firaxis a little time to get the issues worked out.

I can't get any mods until at least the first real patch, and that's if they recognize the problem I posted in bug reports. Here's hoping, they aren't as dense as many other game developers.

It would be nice if you and Dale could just use the CFC.

How do I download this from steam? I saw it yesterday, but I cannot find it today. Where do I look on steam for user created mod downloads?
