I think we need to agree upon a plan of action. It is still too early to tell exactly where that Mavs force is going. But Amazon seems a likely target, still they are the ones most actively engaging Mavs/Merlot.

I suggest we move the wounded maces on Anjennida, to the closest Amazon city to heal and help with defense. We should also found the horse city (Achernar) this turn and have the worker start hooking up the horses.

AlphaShard noted that the Jumbo city is undefended. They still have more troops in other cities on that arm, but we could send East Indiamen with some troops from the south of Bode to attempt to raze that city. (Capture might be doable, but I would rather move our troops in and get them out, so as not to lose them to a counterattack).

How should we defend Bode? Should we whip more units? Move a treb to Procyon? Pull the archer in the south back to our cities?
 
Our units there should be promoted and then healed in the horse city, after this we can take they with the galleon to starcenter we can then decide on which side we need them. What kind of promotion want we choose?
We found the horse city without the bananas, is this the decision, but I say now, I 'll not let Amazon decide our city building, If they want to settle near bananas, they can do this, but the cultural combat is clear for them.
Perhaps we should whip the treb in Arc to get some :hammers: overlay and build 1-2 cats there. The worker at road southwest of Prokyon should go SE and road there we need roads and no jungle, the worker at mine NW of Prok should go at the jungle S of Prok (not roaded) and clear there. The not roaded tiles should becleared at least.

Alpha we play a DG, I don't like a fight without consent. Why didn't you promote the mace before the fight.
 
I am not sure what you mean by DG, if I could have promoted the Mace before taking the Barn city I would have.

Also I forgot to mention last night that I think a general razing of the Bode arm of Mav cities is a good strategy for us at this point, that is if we don't target the Home Island right now. Also Spot B and Copper City have one military unit each, this is as of now and may change later.

I also settled Archenar since both Trystero and Irgy voted for it, I am as well since we need Horse more then Banana. Though honestly those Proposed Amazon cities will have culture battles. Rigel expands it's borders in 9 turns and there is no way to stop it.
 
My suggestion is that we use the speed we have by way of our ships to our advantage. Rather than have our units sit around on the coast, we send them off to raze what we can with minimal losses on the Maverick spoke. Then if the main forces are moving against Amazon we take the opportunity to launch our intended attack on their home island, otherwise we use them as a defensive force.

Trebs are bad for defense, they're only good against cities. We'd prefer catapults for attacking a stack in the open. We have some cats already, so we can use those rather than building more, and swap the trebs in as the invasion/raiding force.

The biggest problem we have on Bode is that there is no killing ground to attack their stack, there's hills everywhere and jungle to boot. This could be a real problem for us. It may even be best to resign ourselves to losses on Bode in exchange for gains on the Maverick home island if they do come after us.

Does anyone know whether taking the pyramids knocks them out of police state by the way?

I think if we start razing their spoke cities that may make them retreat to save their Poison city.

In Sirius whip the eastindian for hamlet, then overlay 36, next turn cat build immediatly
In can whip the treb for 2 coast, then next turn build a cat immediatly
In Arc whip the treb for forest and build a cat immediatly.
In AC change the job from aqueduct to cat.

Our Galleon take the mace and bring him next turn to Bode and then goes to south sea.
Hebe goes 1 tile north, our cara goes in the fjord south of Bode.

Vega build a cross, not Archenar, there we must build granary and then other buildings

I think Mav/Mer 'll go against Ama first, to Anjennida, then to us. Additional Mav has got a GE and build in their Capital a aqueduct, so they want build HG with the GE. In few turns, quicker than we. I would like to invade now to prevent this, or the other possibility to go against the conti-cities of Mav, than they can't build units against us.
So in this turn our army goes on board and the galleons go south (I 've marked the tile, from where we can attack all targets, next turn we can decide against Mavs Isle or Mavs star-towns. So go we without trebs but

What is your opinion?
 
The best I think we can do is move the current mace on Ajen to the southernmost Amazon city.
We are too injured to make any difference, next turn the first group can be at tile 1 (after building road), at tile 2 in 3 turns.

I'd like to point out that we can build a Observatory without the Culture and the same Science beaker bonus.
 
Yes, capturing the Pyramids will eliminate Mavs ability to run Police State.

I think we are in agreement that we should alter our plans and first strike at Mavs city on the spoke, with our objective to raze rather than capture cities, then move onto the home island. Jumbo City seems like the best target, since it is poorly defended and it will knock out their ability to make war elephants.

So for this turn, we will load our current stack on the south of Bode (2 cats, 1 pike, 5 maces) onto our East Indiamen and proceed to the spot at the south of Bode HUSch marked.

If we then move toward Mavs' Jumbo City we would be able to quickly move our forces back to Bode in the event of a counterattack.

I am inclined to follow HUSch's whipping plan:

We will send the trebs and the mace from Sol to the spot marked on the southwest coast of Bode to wait to move toward Mavs home island.
 
I 've ask the referees we get the first 20 Hours of the game, that is horrible, because we are now in the second half, but we must play it now. So I 've played.

We must play now first next turn. It's not so good for them because they can't react to our play in this turn.

We can attack both cities at spire without landing before. 1 City copper has only spear without promotion and ships, the other Jumbo has no guard. If we both cities razed, they 've no horse or ivory.

We could also go at help our homeland iat Bode, if they make a move to us, with all units at ship after the turn (see combat retreat-pic).
Our units at Anjen are mce healed this turn with CR, *; a mace with 5/2 XP in Archenar can be promoted and heal in 1-2, we must decide what kind of promotion he 'll defend and fight so I prefer *Melee, and 1 mace of the galleon near the fjord and archer/mace in Rigel (see home sea-pic)

We 've ~ >90% with mace from ship against the spear, I 've test it with spear (*,city defense for 25% defense bonus), the other sip goes to Jumbo and razed there, if they can manged to get a chariot there, this makes no difference, the other units from the 2. galleon goes at Bode against the possibility that they move at our direction than against Ama. If Mav goes not against us, they can enter the galleon next turn without lost.
 
HUSch - I don't think the play in the first 20 hours counts for this turn, since we just asked about it and aren't attacking. Thanks for playing the turn.

It is a holiday weekend in the U.S., and I will be traveling for the next 8-9 hours. I should be available to play the beginning of the next turn by the time it starts, otherwise someone else can play. Can we post a plan of action, so what we want to do is clear?

I am in favor of attacking the cities on the Mav spire arm. I think we should strike at Jumbo City first, then either Copper city, the Mav home island, or reinforce Bode.

I would also vote that we move Hebe 1N into the jungle. She is currently vulnerable to HA attack.
 
HR against Mace gives us some XP, I think we see not the units there, that is the reason I don't move the mace.

I think we should definitely go for razing both Jumbo and Coppercity. We can take out both cities very easily next turn.

New turn up. I haven't moved anything. Mavs now have a war elephant and 2 cats in Copper City with the spear. And a chariot in Jumbo City. I think our pike would still get good odds against the WE but the the city has 20% culture.
 
They must have had units in the fog. I still think it would be beneficial to take out the cities though.
