Preview: The Warthog (Halo Jeep Vehicle)

Here is a preview of a new unit I started to model today after feeling frustrated at my Scorpion unit. (Problems with making it into a civ3 unit :mad:

)

I'm gonna add 3 Halo Marines on it aswell, 1 Driver, 1 Passanger that can use it's weapon to shoot while in movement. And a marine that controles the turret, which is the main weapon of the Warthog.

I'm also going to smooth it some, and texture it.

I think it is looking good so far, but what weapon will the person in the passenger seat have?

I would like to help you with your units, if you wouldn't mind.
I'm going to try and get CD4 in a few weeks with a upgraded computer. I need something to get familiar with the program, but I've already figured out how to animate and render with the demo. (it took me 3hrs to d/l and it was worth every second)
maybe we could team up.

Well, as long as the unit is effectively modeled by Grey Fox, from an idea coming from Halo, and not simply a 3D model taken directly from the game, I think it's perfectly legal.

Looks excellent

A bigger chaingun might be nice, to really show up.
I dont know...Maybe to fight in with the more exxagerated, cartoonish look of civ, maybe it better be, sort of squashed up a bit.
Smaller length, perhaps make the windscreen bigger.

But these are just options...Im not even sure if they are valid.

Are you going to add a texture to the model? If not, I would add some more detail to the wheels. Also the jeep seems to be a bit too long (only the middle part -> refering to this image). Anyway, the mounted gun looks very nice.

I don´t know if you already know this, but on bungie.net you can see small movies (only the wireframes) of the models they used in the game.

Yes I'm gonna add textures, as I said in my post, and I know that it is a bit too long, will fix that...

Not really, I'm just gonna make very low detail, Simple things sitting and standing on the Vehicle.

That's sad.

But won't a Halo Scenario eventually require Separate Marine Units? Cuz those guys would be pretty cool. They sort of look like the Colonial Marines from Aliens.
