Firaxis Looking for Beta Testers

Firaxis is looking for some beta testers to help test some new super-secret stuff. If you have plenty of time to kill, and want to have input into the development process, then stop over and fill out the application.

Testers will be expected to play at least two full games every week and provide insightful - and detailed - reports about what they think works in the game and what could be improved.

One of the questions is;

"Tell us about the type of ruler you are. When playing a strategy game, do you like to manage every detail of your empire personally or do you prefer the game to do most of the leg work?"

I find the question they ask to be badly phrased. Not managing every detail means you automatically "want the game to do most of the leg work" ? ... ... Like someone will go there and say "oh yeah, I like to sit there idly while I play the game".

I fear the micromanager tester skew. I fear it a lot.

Civilization V hopefully.

I just hope they don't mess to much with gameplay. Don't want it to turn into some easy strategy game with amazing graphics for 10 year olds.

I thought i head awhile back that firaxis had something else in the pipeline but what with them also mentioning civ5 i can't see any reason why theres not a chance it is.

Yes, it could.
