Ways to upgrade palace

What are the best ways to get the people to upgrade your palace? Is there a set limit of time that must go by before theyll upgrade it, or can it happen whenever?

I don't know, I always thought it was randomly decided when you make your citizens happy.

I think there are certain triggers for palace upgrades. I think they include things like first wonder built, first WLTKD, first military battle won etc.

I forget the triggers, but it basically is making your pop happy. Me I would prefer it was disabled, you could in CivII.

Zakharov is right, there are certain triggers that let you add to the palace. Someone posted a lengthy list of them some time ago but I promptly forgot them.

I think the palace upgrades are cool even after hundreds of times... I want more cool graphics

It is tied to population happiness i believe.

Yup, you can make your palace a compelte hodge podge if you so desire. I used to always go pure gothic/European (a habit built up on Civ I because I liked the castle palace choices), but recently have begun combining styles. I still stay symetrical though...

I think it's semi-random but you can trigger it by:WLTKD,being nuked :crazyeye:

(less pop=not to crowded)defending a city,wonders or....

I do, but after I've seen it done plenty of times, it loses its luster.

@Grand, how did you get those stronger civ outline borders? Is that a mod?

I enjoyed the palace building in Civ1 a ton more than in Civ3. I also disliked the throne room of Civ2, but compared to Civ3 it was still better.

Yep, Check out Pounder's library.. hes made tons of different borders
