I don’t think that it was a good idea of Firaxis to include in BtS the HRE instead of Poland. The HRE already is represented by France and Germany and DID NOT EVEN EXIST when Charlemagne was king of France and Germany!

I think that to have HRE is a very bad choice from the point of view of historical accuracy and gameplay too. Even Holland was put in the expansion, which is smaller and, especially in the Polish golden age of the XIX century, probably not of the same cultural impact as Poland. I don’t say that Holland should not be included, everybody knows that they invented the windmill and other engineering concepts that are important for civilization, but the HRE really nobody understands since we already have France and Germany! :mad:

Let’s hope we still have time to convince Firaxis to correct the big mistake they made with BtS!

Its too late, the game is going gold soon, HRE is in. Poland is not in the game, and why would it be?

There are two things you can do about it: NOTHING and like it. BTW, this is like the 25 thread on the matter with over 2000 post on the matter. Everyone already knows they are in and you can mod them out, just please move on.

During its prime The Netherlands were argumently one of the most important, richest, and strongest nations in the world, with a gigantic empire were the sun never went down and an international influence that dwarfs the Polish. They were innovators when it came to art, politics, law, engineering, foreign trade and naval warfare. I think you very much underestimate the Dutch importance and are too blinded by their current relative small geographical position. Or maybe you are just seriously overestimating your own nations importance, because while Poland was certainly important, I regard The Netherlands a lot higher.

The HRE is in. Learn to live with it. It's not that bad of a choice. :mischief:

Hey! I have a solution for these three BTS problems!

Insteed of the HRE they should just add Poland as a civ and have Charlemagne (who actually ruled a piece of Poland) and Hitler as its two leaders! That way we can solve three problem at once. :sarcasm:
 
A simple mod and we can change it to the Holy Poland Empire. Does that suit anybody? (That's Holy Poland as in Holy Poland, Batman!)

HRE has more votes than Poland and all others combined


And Hitler as leader of Poland that just sad.
Why not have Osama lead America
 
That you would have preferred one civ over the other to be in, that is okay.
Saying that one should have been out or is less "important" is just silly.

I voted in favour of the HRE. I accept the choices Firaxis made. I can imagine that it is annoying since France, Germany and other former HRE peoples are already included, but to me it seems like they wanted Charlemagne in.
(I just see the HRE as the Belgian civ, since he was born there ;) )

Since there will be an option to choose a civ and a leader independently from one another, it would have been nice if Firaxis had like "unaffiliated" leaders, which can be chosen and sometimes are randomly assigned to other civs. Then you could add great leaders, without adding their civ. You could do this for Charlemagne and Attila. Thus leaving the HRE out.
