Should America become a Theocracy Bush fans? You guys haves the say now, and people my view don't and sadly may not again until it's too late.

:(

But, Azadre, you're being unfair to the United States! If Iran is allowed to be a theocracy, we should be too!

Its your own logic, after all. You should be honored that I am using it against you.

A lot has changed in these past few months. The Iranian theocracy needs overthrown BY the students from within. My father and I agree on this.

I won't vote because I'm not a Bush voter, but I must point out that America cannot become a theocracy until the First Amendment is changed "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or phohibiting the free exercise thereof;..."

To change the US Constitution, you need the vote of 2/3 of both houses, or have 2/3 of the states support the amendment. Then 3/4 of state legislatures (or special ratification conventions) have to approve for the proposed amendment to take effect.

The religious diversity in America would be too much for this, and the only people who would really go for this are the far right/fundamentalist Christians, who are not in the majority at all.

America should become a theocracy, just not right now. It will happen when Jesus comes back. :)

I did vote even though I'm not a Bush voter. The US, though founded by very religious people, is no where near a theocracy. There is no mandatory state religion, forced prayer in public schools is banned, and laws are struck down are upheld based on individual rights.
