That's the best pic I could find (at least on the internet, there was a much better picture but it was in a book and I don't have a scanner)

Basically, it is a Sumerian soldier riding on this primitive chariot, throwing Javelins. The Chariot is primitive in several ways. It is bulky and slow compared to later Chariots. It is pulled by 4 Onagers (small wild Donkey) instead of the usual 2 Horses. But every great invention had a begining.

What I imagine the unit would look like is something like that pic. The Sumerian driving it could look similar to the Enkidu warrior only he would be throwing Javelins

The unit would probably fit really well as a Sumerian Unique Unit, but I need it as a early chariot available to everyone (I probably need a better name than "Early Chariot" for game purposes, but I'll take one step at a time).

I guess that's about it. Any takers?

I can't help but I can imagine, I can see it in my mind perfectly. There should be mods of more detailed upgrade paths, like spear warrior to spearman to phalangite to pikeman to somekind of intermediary to musketman to musket infantry to grenadier to rifleman to doughboy to infantry to modern infantry and NOT to mech infantry, what kind of man upgrades to a machine? And as for chariots, maybe just the two and an addition of a defensive bombardment then cavalry archer and then dragoon with a defensive gun bombardment (I know, big jump from cavalry archer to dragoon. Maybe a cuirassier or something with a musket?)

Yeah, that one is good. Only I would rather not have a bow (Javelin-only) to help add even more distinction, but that's just a preference.

The version I want is slightly different than that picture. It would only have one soldier (Like the Egyptian one has) and he would be throwing Javelins. Again, I wish I had a scanner to show you the exact picture I want, but the Chariot looks pretty much like Kryten's picture. The driver in the picture actually looks a lot like the Enkidu Warrior, only his clothes are a bit different (he has the same long beard, but he is lighter dressed).

That's really the best I can do to explain.

The more I think about it, the actual driver of the Chariot can look like current Chariot-driver (I never build Chariots, so I didn't notice him, but its pretty similar).

So the only thing I would need is a change to make him throw Javelins and the primitive chariot itself.

Go to www.dbaol.com then choose, explore armies and you will find all these lovely pics we keep on posting, Krtyen or I + lots of others for units until the Renaissance.

This would be a sweet unit. It wouldn't require horses, for one. I think the Hittite chariot would be a lot tougher than this one, too. It doesn't have four wheels, does it? (I haven't got C3C yet.) I wonder if "war wagon" would be an appropriate name for this unit?

Thanks

This is probably a bit closer to what I want (only without the sunburn ;) )

EDIT: Oh, and of course they have to be Donkeys :p
EDIT2: Actually, the Chariot was a bit closer to the first one as well, so I guess its sort of a combo between the 2.

I guess I'll bump this one as well.

Hum-dee-hum, bumpety-bump...

Bumpety-bump-BUMP!

I bump this without giving a reason ;)

Here's a reason: A four-wheeled donkey-pulled chariot is cool!

I agree :D

Looking for an excuse to Bump this Thread

I really wish search worked.

EDIT: It appears it does work. :o
