I have decided to create a nes and i thought that it should be a Warhammer one. The map is already made (all i have to do is find a place to download it or scan it), as are the races it would be fantasy and have to include magic, techs could be borrowed from Embryo Deads warhammer mod (great download if you have civ 3 conquests), Units could come from the tabletop game itself as well as wonders. I know itwould be a challange and thats why im asking for some assistance. Maily for rule construction and if anyone actually plays warhammer fantsay some history. I know some but not all.

Anyway i think this could be a great nes and it should be given a try.

So many views but no reply? Please can someone tell me if its a good idea or not.

i have no clue what warhammer is, but i do know one thing. with all the stuff you listed to include, this will be a tough game to mod. if its a board game (ie, predefined battle rules, standardized units, maybe even map split into territories) then i'd join.
as a story game, i dont think (i may be wrong) it'll be possible to mod it in a way that everyone considers it "fair" and players calling the mod unfair will ALWAYS crash a game.
if you want help with balancing the rules once you've got some basic idea of what they are, i can help. as for starting from scratch, its too hard to know what you want in it.

Of course it would be a board nes. Im just unsure as of how to balance the rules.

The problem though is that Warhammer is a strategy game - you plan the battles, whereas that couldn't happen online becase there are many battles and so the mod would have to take care of them himself, all that leaves is the different units in Warhammer to other NES's which isnt really hard to do because the basic stats are already there. The rules can be the same as a normal NES under those circumstances except you may want to put in Racial Hatreds.
