[BTS} Frisian civilisation (Dutch) Modular

I am still in the workings of creating this one so downloads will be posted in this message as soon as it is ready.
Either for testing/beta or final.

Beta 0.8 you can download here.
This should be a fully working version, and I am taking a break from moding stuff and i'll just go and play it and debug.
Ofcourse a new final version will be posted as soon as it is ready.

To play this Modular civ you need to do the following:
  1. Make sure you have these folders in your game directory. \Beyond the Sword\Assets\Modules\Custom Civilizations\
  2. Unzip the rar in the custom civilizations folder.
  3. Go to \my documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\ and find CivilizationIV.ini.
  4. Open it with notepad and set ModularLoading = 1
  5. Run the game while holding shift (to be sure)

Please let me know if you find anything, enjoy.

Beta 0.8 Units


Leaderhead Final


Starts with:
Mining.
Fishing.

Traits:
Industrious.
Charismatic.

Unique unit final


Starts with pinch +25 vs gun units.
Can be upgraded to Marine.

Unique building final


Adds +1 food to sea tiles (reclaiming land from the sea into farms - from wiki)
Adds +1 food to river tiles (creating floodplains - from wiki)
Adds +1 happines

Comes with 31 cities in proper Frisian dialect.
a.k.a. Snits (Frisian) instead of Sneek (Dutch)
a.k.a. Ljouwert (Frisian) instead of Leeuwarden (Dutch) etc etc

I've grabbed a lot of units from several people and even mangled the textures to my of preferences.
I would say I am sorry, but I am not :p
I tried editing the nif files but I failed horribly so I will not be doing that again.

Thanks go to the whole community for making these units and helping me with civ, also strategyonly for making me a bare modular civ.
I honestly CBA to look up the 20 people I used the units from, so if you read this. THANK YOU!

I am not happy with a couple of units.
out of my head:

Infantry (needs red beret) Still needs one.
Couldn't find a blond scout. Did that myself.
Would like the blond archer on the horse archer.Did that myself.
Would like a blond dude on the elephant.Did that myself.
Would like a blond dude on the chariot (the chariot is bugged as it doesn't show textures when zoomed) Did that myself.

If ANYone would like to help out with me being a nitpicker, please pm or reply.
 
check your modern spy animation...you're using the wrong one...see how he has his arm on his waist?

Spy gets more animations right, when it enters different era's.

I checked, it's using Art/Units/Spy/Spy.kfm
Not the ancient one (I have the default ancient spy)

It uses the great spy animation, it's fixed now thanks.
 
he uses the "Great Spy" animations. He only uses 2 animations I believe. First when he's an ancient spy and then when he's a Modern Spy...so that's 2.

You're using the spy animation, which will work but that will make your spy look...well he will act like a girl = P

I'm not Frisian but to be honest.
I'd rather have Mata Hari as leader ;)

Chose them for this civ as I am dutch aswell, and don't like playing with Willem (yes that sounds wrong).
I had hardcoded my own civ in BTS but at some point it went horribly wrong, so I am trying a modular one to suit my needs.

Frisians, well... I didn't know if you can (can you?) code a modular civ into an existing civ.
And the only ones I could think of that went waaaaay back in time and are actually Dutch, are... you guessed it.
If anyone wants to add leaders, when it is finished. Be my guest ;)

The navy seal is that the guy with the goggles?
It's the infantry now, strategyonly put it in.
I'm planning on changing it npi, I want a red beret on an infantry.
Other then that it's a beautiful unit, is it yours? (if so look at my beg post lol)
 
You're always welcome to use stuff out of my old Frisia mod. But I don't think you really need anything out of it:lol:

Love your version of Redbad though, he looks friendly. Mine is amateurish.

I actually used yours as a reference to make the UB working, I've been playing civ since Civ I, but never ever looked at the code.

The leaderhead was stolen, from.. someone.. (I'll give proper credits later)

Yeah that was the first working flag, it doesnt have proper borders. (i went crazy in photosoup)
And yes, this is my first proper modular civ, my previous hardcoded one went banana's at some point.

Unit update.




YES! I have been molesting your precious hand made units to suit my needs.

Update:

Elephant dude is blond.
Chariot dude is blond (has new chariot aka no more skin glitch)
reskinned the scout (blond and not a warrior)
Horse archer is an Amazon. (Reskinned the spy horse archer from someone)
Swordman is now a blond ancient unit (not content on colour will change later)
Totally reskinned the Medieval units, they all have metal armours (instead of the leather)
Reestablished the Maceman and Knight in the same fashion of the medieval units.
Reskinned a Cuirassier in blond.
Added female infanrty and reskinned her. (you guessed it, blond)
Reskinned the Machinegun to complement the modern units. (beret)
Added Bordeaux beret to the Mechanized infantry (Humvee) to complement the modern units.
Reskinned the Mobile sam/tank/Modern Armour.




To do:

Renaissance units need other colour pants. (kaki is so 1890's)
Reskin the Mobile artillery (no new M.Artilary's in the unit section?)
Reskin the reskin of the jet. (green camo)
Reskin the stealth bomber in black (where is the stealth bomber on my drive??)
Reskin both the WWI fighter and bomber. (they are too bright imo)

Also updated the pictures in the first post and added the unique unit.
It's up for testing as that is what I am going to do, before I will throw something through my monitor.
